Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: I liked it and because I did now you can buy it Review: Here's my review. You can take it in part or in whole. You don't know me so you don't know how good my advice is. This book was a bore to get through, even though I love biology. It explains things, but not well enough. It assumes you've had some training in biology before you picked this book up. Some things it will give just the definition, but it doesn't go into explaining how it works that well. I think the barrons is better, but if you get this book you won't be left in the dark too much.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Helpful Review: I bought this book 4 months prior to my A.P. Biology exam and studied constantly; about 4 hours a day. I memorized every term and every possible biological theory, axiom, postulate, whatever. After taking the A.P. exam in May, my brain felt too exhausted to think of studying again for the SAT II biology. All I did was take the mini-test available in the REAL SAT IIs published by the College Board. I was ecstatic when I recieved my grades: a 5 in AP Biology, and a 770 in the SAT II. Use this book in conjunction with Princeton Review's CRACKING THE AP BIOLOGY as well as CLIFFS AP BIOLOGY, and you will succeed. Good luck studying, and remember to start early.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Important thing to consider Review: I persoanlly did well but that was because of my interest in biology. I dont reccommend this book to anyone who is NOT interested and biology and did NOT have a strong background in it. This book is excellent for a mere review and got me a good score, but if you want to actually learn the material, you're better off using any book. This also lacks practice. for those seeking good score but does not meet the criteria above, get the princeton to read and barron to practice. if you go to the same school as me, i reccomend you dont get this as well, since we did not have the best teachers (unless if you're lucky). Getthis only if you're interested deeply in bio. trust me.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: A Useless Preparation Guide Review: I think that this book is great, if one has 7 months to prepare for the SAT II Biology! Seriously, the amount of detail in this book is silly. You might be better off studying from your textbook. The practice tests are completely off, and those stupid stress relief guides at the end are just there to add more cents to this book's cost. The purpose of a preparation guide is to provide an organized, structured review, condensing as much of the course into a single, cohesive unit. This books fails in that aspect. You are never going to be quizzed on what oxaloacetate is from the Dark Reactions! And enough of those "I got 560, but with this book I got 800!" stories. It won't happen. I feel this book is a waste of time.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Sat II Biology E/m (Kaplan) Review: I thought that this book gave a decent review of the materials needed for taking the SAT II Biology, however all the material covered in the review was at times too brief and assumed that the reader had already mastered the material. If one did not have a firm grasp on the material or had not learned the material yet, that person would have a difficult time making any sense of the material. There were elements of the book that I did like, such as the don't mixed these up on the test day, located in the margins. These inserts provided general bits of info that were important. My recommendation is to buy this book only if you are well versed in all the aspects that are covered in the SAT II Biology. Otherwise you should go get the Princeton Review Biology book, since it does a much better job of explaining the material.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I got an 800 Review: I thought this book provided an excellent review. It was much better than the Princeton review book. This book helped me to get an 800 (perfect score.) Thus I would recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: As a high school freshman. Review: I took this test in June of my freshman year, and with the help of this book and a lot of dedication, I got a 770 on my SAT 2 Biology test. The review book does an excellent job of laying all the necessary facts out and divides the information into appropriate sections. However, it does assume that you have already mastered a basic high school biology course, and it is only there for REVIEW and recalling facts.I would recommend the book to all the students who will actually put in the time and effort to study. Shelling out ten or twenty dollars for this review book won't accomplish anything.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: SOLID HELP Review: I used this book (if only for 2 days!) and got a 740 in June '03. The 2 practice tests were good, although some of the other content was boring. I didn't find any errors, and thought that the practice tests were harder than the actual thing

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: SAT II is a misnomer. Review: I used this book to prep//review for the SAT II Biology test. If you are planning to take M, you should definitely use this book. I'm personally very loyal to this publisher, but if you want the grade, get the book. Btw...I just took my AP Bio test and upon looking through this book, i realized that it would've helped me better than all the other prep books out there.
