Rating: Summary: GREAT!!!!!!!!! Review: This was a great book. It shows Mattimeo goes from a troublemaker to a warrior. Slagar the Cruel manages to capture the young ones of redwall. So the kid have their own adventure, while other Redwallers search for them on their own unique quest. Also, follow how General Ironbeak tries to kill the sparrows and take over Redwall. GREAT BOOK!
Rating: Summary: Read it and you'll love it forever! Review: "One day, you will wield the Sword, my son... But it will not make you a Warrior." says Mattimeo's father, Matthias. This is a truly thrilling book to read over and over again and you'll never get tired of it! This story is about a cunning fox, Slagar the Cruel, and he and his evil followers sneak into Redwall Abbey to kidnap the Woodland children along with Mattimeo, the son of the warrior Matthias. The evil creatures makes them slaves to sell them to the mysterious kingdom of Malkariss where an equally mysterious king rules. As Matthias and a few more brave parents and friends starts searching for their lost young ones, Redwall Abbey is being invaded by General Ironbeak's ravens.........My favorite character in this book is Basil Stag Hare who has an ENORMOUS appetite and I love the way he acts. I also like Cheek, the very cheeky otter who accompanies Matthias and the other parents. This is a book you have to read! This is just GREAT!
Rating: Summary: Not The Best Redwall Book Review: This is definitely one of my least favorite Redwall books, and I have read quite a few. The reason I don't like it as much is because it seems unoriginal and lacking something that most of the other Redwall books have (except for Marlfox). The characters are sort of shallow, and I think bringing Chicken Hound back was sort of desperate. Also, the character Mattimeo didn't seem that bright. I recommend that you read other Redwall books before this, preferably Redwall itself. Those are my criticisms. The things I LIKE about the book...well, there are a few. I like the character Cheek the Otter and his relationship with Basil Staghare. And I like the fact that Brian Jacques was willing to kill off a popular character (although I think this character should have had a last word. She was hardly in it at all.). To finish it up, I think Brian Jacques did a moderate job, but not the best.
Rating: Summary: My name is Luke and I wanted to give it 10 stars Review: Facsinating. Vicious Slagar the cruel steals all of the young uns from Redwall Abbey. Now its up to Matthias, Basil Stag Hare, Jess Squirell and more to stop Slagar and get back the kids who don't seem like 'kids'when they're found.
Rating: Summary: Mattimeo Review: It is a great book for kids 10 through 13. I liked Mattimeo because it had a lot of bad guys, action, and adventure. -Graeme Faulkner
Rating: Summary: I wanted to give it 10 stars! Review: This book was fascinating, there were turns and twists in every chapter. The book gives you info on whats going on over many places. The animal world amazes me. Brian Jacques leaves you hanging many times. If you read just this one or any other Redwall book you will want to read many more!
Rating: Summary: Three Villains and More Adventure Review: Hiyo, Redwall Lovers! "Mattimeo" is my personal favourite. In it, Matthias' son Mattimeo and other youngsters are kidnapped by Slagar and taken to Malkariss' kingdom. Matthias and friends head out to find them. Basil Stag Hare, Jess Squirrel, and others return from "Redwall" as well as some new characters, such as Auma and Sir Harry the Muse. Once again, there are truckloads of characters, more battles, and General Ironbeak, the first bird villain. There are feasts and more than enough adventure. This is the best of the ones that I've read.
Rating: Summary: Funny and intense Review: If I had to pick a favorite Redwall book, it would definitely be Mattimeo because it was funny as well as intense. It was so funny, I had a hard time reading sometimes! It also had beautiful descriptions and poems and great riddles. Redwall fans, this is the book for you!
Rating: Summary: Greatest of all the Redwall Boox Review: This is an awesome book, Slagar may not be the hardest bad guy of all the Redwall's enemies.. but is certainly the most sly and cunning. I like basically everyone. From the beggining to the end its a great book.
Rating: Summary: The great saga continues Review: Fans of the Redwall series are in for a treat in Mattimeo. It takes all the elements from the first two novels, & expands upon them. It has the battles and the humor we've come to expect from Brian Jacques. Instead of one enemy, now we are given two. It is non-stop thrills. Just when you think the action couldn't get tenser, another great moment comes at you. If you are new to the Redwall series, I recommend that you start with the first novel, Redwall. Unlike Mossflower, this is a sequel to Redwall and without the reference, new readers will get lost. There are the old favorite characters along with many new ones. Fans of the series will not be disappointed.
