Summary: Wish he did this more often
Review: Brian Jacques is one of those writers who came out with a break through that hadnt really been done since C.S.Lewis wrote the Chronichals af Narnia. I think this was Brian JAcques last great book until he wrote Marlfox, i say this because i believe books 4-10 sort of had the same plot repeated over and over again. I have the entire Redwall collection in first edition releases and have read each several times.I think Brian Jacques should be very happy with this book and this series.

Summary: When will everybody learn...
Review: ...that most of the Redwall books(especially the more recent ones) are the same storyline and heroic characters in a new package each and every time! Then again, it took me a year, so maybe I should be more lenient. This is one of the Redwall books(along with Mossflower, Redwall, Bellmaker, and Mariel) that I really recommend, as they are all different. This is my favorite one in the series, but you should read Redwall before reading this. It is action-y, heroic, and has lots of descriptions of delicious food. It's a good book, but the books that I have not mentioned as the "better" ones are the ones you won't like as much.

Summary: A Wonderful Book
Review: Mattimeo is the second of Brian Jacques' books I have read, (the first being Redwall) and I have to say I enjoyed Mattimeo more, though they are both wonderful, 5 star examples of children's literature. I think Slagar was a much more convincing adversary: a minor character from one of the previous books with real motives for kidnapping the Abbey children. (Don't get me wrong, Cluny from 'Redwall' was a good villian, but he was one-dimensional, he had no real past or motivation other than the usual "because he's evil and crazy.") The only thing I didn't like was the subplot with General Ironbeak, it felt too much like a rehash of the first book, but with much weaker foes.
Overall this is a good book for children and adults, especially If you like books like 'The Hobbit.'

Summary: Anthropomorphic Story, Bryan Jacques
Review: I read Mattimeo by Brian Jacques. This anthropomorphic story was about a fox, who is a kidnapper, and he kidnapped some little animals, including the warrior of Redwall's son. He made them into slaves, and took them to a place called Malkariss, and set them to work on a statue. Meanwhile, some rescuers from Redwall come to rescue them and are successful. At Redwall, some birds attack the Redwallers, but they are beaten back. Then the rescuers return. One is the hero of the story, the warrior of Redwall, Matthias. Everyone at Redwall has a big feast and everyone exchanges tales.
I recommend this book for anyone who likes fast-paced, exciting, and suspensful books, like in the part where Matthias and his friends are fighting all of the rats.
I thought Matthias was cool because he used a sword, unlike his five friends, and with them, defeated seven hundred rats.

Summary: Amazingly Brilliant!!!!!
Review: Here is another work of art done by one of the most amazing artist. Mattimeo , for those of you who don't know is the son of the hero from the first book Mathias. When the redwall abbey is having their feast a slave driver gang shows up in disguise. Not knowing this the knid redwallers let them in. When no one is looking the slave drivers slip some sleeping potion into everyones drink. Once everyone is asleep they steal all of the children including Mattimeo. The parents wake up to find out the horrible news and yet another quest begins. I don't want to give any more of the story away so I am going to stop there. What will become of the slave and the slave drivers. What will become of redwall. Read this amazing book and find out.

Summary: Mattimeo
Review: For those who have read Redwall, this book will be all the better for you.Being reunited with your old friends gives you unsurrpressed joy, and seeing them with their children fills you with a sence of great pride. ( Though seeing the animals who were quite young in the previous book having children was quite awkward at first )This story is exellent and I rate it accordingly.
Few things can happen to Redwall that is worst than this. First, The young ones are stolen from the Abbey, And when Matthias, Jess and Basil, along with some new found friends, whose young ones have also been stolen, are gone, some other uninvited guests visit the Abbey. General Ironbeak and his birds from the Northlands invade Redwall, at the time when most of the fighting beasts are gone searching. I would tell you more but this book but it is very complicated and wonderful. Another story for the Faithful Redwallers who adore these books and Brian Jacques.

Summary: THRILLING SUSPENSE, AS USUAL!
Review: Once again a fantastic book that you can't help but read. The suspense, dialouge, adventure, and detail are nothing less than great. This magnetic plot will definitely keep you coming back for more. Just as any other excellent Redwall book would.

Have you ever noticed how different each story is? And there all so entertaining too. There's always a problem to be solved either in Redwall abbey or in Mossflower woods. But the solution does not come quickly. Better yet, the problem lingers until the last minute, and still there's plenty of time to display the solution and still make it just as interesting. Jacques never fails to make each book fascinating for the reader. Being from Liverpool, England, and speaking such a different language, makes his books unique. He manages to put some of the slang terms of Europe into lamen's terms to make every character not only amusing, but different from each other. The detail is also one of a kind. For example, have you ever noticed how good they make the food sound. You just want to jump into the book, and eat everything. But the detail is so good you almost feel like your in the book! You could be Mattimeo, Matthias, or even Slagar. The excitement never ends. Just like in the third book of the collection. It's story plot is different and unique in its own way. Whether it's the setting, the characters, or anything else it's perfect the way it was meant to be.

Each book has a secret of its own waiting to be revealed. Treat yourself by unlocking that secret. READ THIS BOOK!!! Or try any of the Redwall books. Trust me you'll enjoy every page!

Summary: Mattimeo
Review: Mattimeo is a good book to read. It is a continueing story of Redwall. Slager the Cruel plans to steal the babes of Redwall to have them as slaves. Slager's real name is Chickenhound, he was the son of a vixen who used to serve Cluny, but was killed by her as a traitor. He escaped and went to get his revenge on Redwall. When he took the babes amoung them was the valued one that he wanted the most Mattimeo, son of Matthias the warrior champion of Redwll.
The part that I liked the most was the part when Matthias battles an army with Orlando the Axe, hedgehogs, and the Guoism. Pretty good odds huh? Impossible, but they won in the end, probably because Log a Log and his shrews freed the slaves. The chains probably also served as a good weapon. Meanwhile, at Redwall Abbey, they were fighting against General Ironbeak and his birds. It wasn't a pretty sight.
At Redwall Abbey, the birds conquered everything except for Cavern Hole. Soon, the birds had 3 hostages, Cornflower and her mother, plus, baby Rollo. But then, the redwallers thought of a plan to capture the food gatherers of the birds. They soon made an exchange, but then, the birds attacked. At night, they thought of a trick and tricked the birds to thinking that a ghost is haunting them. In the end, the Redwallers won by slaying Ironbeak, this is why Mattimeo is a good book to read.

Summary: One of the Best
Review: This is book is one of Redwall's finest books. The action continues throughout the whole book. It is so unpredicable and adventures that it became my favorite book in the Redwall books . I highly recommend it.
