Rating: Summary: The characters are very interesting. Review: Mattimeo was great. I liked it because the bad guys always lose, and the really bad guy was killed, and everything turned out all right in the end. It's a very good story. My favorite character is Matthias, because he is very smart, nice, and he likes to get rid of bad stuff. Everybody should read this book!
Rating: Summary: The Redwall series is amazing, and this is no exception. Review: I got my first Redwall book, Redwall in a school bookfair. "This is really cool!" were my thoughts.I asked for more Redwall for chrstmas. One of the many new titles was this book, Mattimeo. Jacques has a real knak for story telling that has carried over into this stunning tale that brings back the heros and villians from the origional noval. (You have seen Slager the Cruel before, but that wasn't his name.) Slager is the evil black fox who comes to Redwall Abbey to seek a slow suffering vengence opun the good creatures: He kidnaps the childrin to use as slaves. One of this mice is the son of Matthias, the warrior of Redwall, Mattimeo. Matthias must now lead a party to rescue the young ones. Then as he leaves, the Addey is attacked by huge birds. The gripping plotline, along with the exciting combat, makes this installment a five-star classic.
Rating: Summary: Perfect! Review: Brian Jacques really, I think did his best by making this book so long, descriptive and not at all boring!
Rating: Summary: This is the best book in the Redwall Series! Review: In my point of view this is by far the best book of the series, it combines humor, action, suspence, and even a little bit of sorrow. I think that this book explains the most about Redwall. Mossflower was a good intro though, it didn't quite explain everything. Everything that wasn't clearly stated in Moss flower was explained in this one. Overall, another great book from Brian Jacques.
Rating: Summary: The only Redwall book that truly doesn't deserve 5 stars. Review: Compared to other Redwall books, Mattimeo is drall, boring and not creative. Making it one of the best books in the world. Anything that Mr. Jaques dreams up is OK by me! If you've read every other Redwall books, I guess it's worth checking out, otherwise save it for last.
Rating: Summary: GREAT! Review: Mattimeo is a great book, and I want to read and buy the rest of the books in this series. I have also read Redwall, The Bellmaker, and Martin the Warrior.
Rating: Summary: Exellent book!! :-) Review: The book Mattimeo was an excellent mystery and adventure. If you have read any of his other books you can almost guess what is going to happen but then Brian Jacques throws in a new and exciting page turner. In this book (if you have read Redwall) you would have never guessed that Slager is...(I'll save the suprise) or why he wears the silk mask.
Rating: Summary: THIS IS A DEFINITE READ Review: "One day you will weild the sword my son but it will not make you a warrior." This is from the book Mattimeo by Brian Jacques. If you don't like adventure, if you don't like action, if you like boring charecters, ........then don't read the book because Mattimeo is loaded with Adventure, action, and great and funny charecters. Mattimeo is about a young mouse named Mattimeo whose father, Matthis, is the Redwall Warrior and mattimeo has to grow up to become one. Through his life Mattime grows up just like his father ( a little michief maker) he always gets in to fights, trouble, and other things like that. Well one day he and some of the other young Animals from redwall get captured by a Cunning fox Slagar the Cruel and are put on a slave trial destined to a place called Malkris where they will work as slaves for the rest of their lives. The Animals at Redwall send out a search party. On their way to find their children they make some new friends with other animals whose Children have beeen taken by Slagar, Plus they meet up with some with some old friends. While they are gone a Crow named General Ironby attacks the Redwall Abbey. If you thought the plot sounded good, then try reading the book. I think the strengths were everything but one thing. The weaknesses are that one thing. I don't think that in each chapter there should be a different place each time. The style of the author was funny, so funny that sometimes it makes you laugh out loud; adventurous so that you feel like you're fighting in the battle, cliffhangers that just make you want to read on, and mystery. Other books in the Readwall series are, Martin the Warrior, Mossflower, Redwall, Perls of Lutra, The long Patrol, and of course Mattimeo. Will Mattimeo ever grow up to become a warrior and weild the sword of his father? To find out you must read the book.
Rating: Summary: Very Descriptive Review: This book is one that will give upand down emotions. One of the best I've read
Rating: Summary: Dust In The Wind Review: Even though Brian Jacques' books are considered to be for children, I find that even as a teenager I can still enjoy the stories and characters that are apart of Redwall. I've been hooked to the series since 6th grade when I had to read REDWALL for a book reading compeitition. But of all the novels, I've always loved Mattimeo the most. The rich story lines, the family ties between Matthias and his son are very real, even though they are fictional mice in a fantasy book. So for the past five years I've been collecting all his novels, reading them over and over, getting all the hardcover editions for the wonderful illustrations. Though it is Mattimeo which I read the most, and the song Dust In The Wind (I can't remember the artist) is a wonderful theme song for this novel. Everytime I hear it, I close my eyes and can imagine the characters, their strengths, weaknesses, and this plight for good over evil. In 7th grade I wrote a poem about Slagar The Cruel (the fox in the novel) and won a poetry contest with it. I've read many classics over the years, from Dickens to Dumas, but it is Brian Jacques' novels that stick in my mind the most.
