Summary: A "Timeless" Classic
Review: I have to say that this is by far the best of L'Engle's work. I personally feel that it even outstrips "Wrinkle in Time". Charles Wallace was always my favorite Murray, anyway. This book is a must-read.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Not your average kids' book.
Review: The reading age listed on the Amazon page for this book says 9 to 12. I was in that age group when I read this book, but fifteen years later I still find it a good read. It's complex and intricately plotted. It never dumbs down the language or talks down to young readers as so many of the other books I read as a child did. This is a challenging and absorbing book. I recommend it for readers of all ages.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book had lots of adventuture and excitment.
Review: In the story Charles Wallace is trying to stop a mad dictator called Madog Brazillo.Meg cannot go on his quest because she is expecting a child but she can talk to him by kything(talking through the brain}.And I liked the book because it had action and adventure. It had a fifth dimension so they could go to different planets in a flash.Maybe even one day we could talk through the brain.

Summary: One of my favourite childhood books
Review: I first came across Madeleine L'Engle when I was in the fifth grade, and I have been reading her books ever since (that's eleven years!) A Swiftly tilting Planet is the most mature of the Murray Trilogy, but I also think it is one of Madeleine L'Engle's most spiritual novels. The message, and the plot, is timeless.

Summary: My favorite book
Review: I read Wrinkle in Time when I was 11 and thought it was the best thing I'd ever read. Wind in the Door and Swiftly Tilting Planet were published when I was an adult. I liked Wind in the Door, but it didn't have the "agic"of Wrinkle. When I picked up Swiftly Tilting Planet, I thought that I would enjoy it, but it wouldn't be up to par with Wrinkle. Boy was I wrong!

Planet was the most magnificient book I've ever read. I'm 46 years old and have read thousands of books over my lifetime, including all of Madeleine L'Engle's titles. This story is so inspirational, suspenseful, frightning, heartbreaking and joyful. It's just the best.

I use The Rune when I need a little "igher power"in my life as well as traditional prayers. I recommend it to everyone. It may be complicated for some children, but Ms. L'Engle doesn't write down for anyone. It can be a joyeous experience for the imaginative child and adult as well.

I think I'll sign off and go read it again right now.

Summary: I'm a new reader and have not yet been let down
Review: I'm new to reading L'Engle. My friend introduced me to A Wrinkle In Time and I decided to take a chance. I'm sure glad I did! These books are all energizing and easy to follow. The way she wove in different time periods was amazing -- like I was really there! It takes a good writer to do that! It's the best book yet. I like the Bible verses she adds into the story, even if all her themes don't seem to agree. Swiftly Tilting Planet is a GREAT book! It sure won't let A Wrinkle In Time fans down!

Summary: This book was terrific!
Review: I recently read a book called "A Swiftly Tilting Planet", by Madeleine L'Engle. I would rate this book a 10. This book is about a boy named Charles Wallace Murry. His sister,Meg, is married and pregnant. Meg's mother-in-law seems crazy because she keeps calling Charles "Chuck". She also says it's up to him to stop a nuclear war.The man who wants to start the war is called Mad Dog Banzillo. She give him this weird poem to memorize. After dinner Charles goes outside and says, "in this fateful hour, I hall upon all heaven with its power!" And in no time a unicorn with wings comes and says, "you called?" And so the adventure begins. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure books. Madeleine L'Engle did a wonderful job on this book.
