Rating: Summary: HYSTERICAL! Review: Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging kept me turning pages and laughing hysterically! It is not one bit inappropriate regardless of its appealing title. I highly recommend this book to all teenagers! It is authors such as Louise Rennison that leave us with a feeling of hope that there ARE adults out there that UNDERSTAND us! Georgia is a teenager living in London (her charismatic choice of words adds flair!) with her parents, a sister that tends to pee in her room, and a crazy, weird-temprmented cat. Georgia seems to live in her own sitcom, yet she is brought down to earth by her realistic romances.
Rating: Summary: READ IT! READ IT! READ IT! Review: I love this book. It is tear-inducingly, rib-crackingly, pant-wettingly funny. The similarities between my friends and I and the characters in this book are shocking. Shocking, but funny. Every teenage girl can relate to this book. I find that it's like reading an uber-hilarious mirror of my life. You won't find many books funnier than this. Because they don't exist. This book makes everything funny, from french lessons to school uniforms, from basoomas to lesbian PE teachers. But don't read it in public. I read it on a bus, and when you get to those moments of hilariosity, you're going to laugh. You can't fight it. You will erupt with laughter, sitting alone on a bus. And when you realise you look like a 'loon on loon tablets', you will laugh even more. And old people will look at you. This book is also a great source of catchphrases. About 50% of my and my friend's dialect has been lifted directly from this book. In fact, most people at my (all girls) school quote it regularly. And everyone gets it. That's because the phrases Louise Rennison has come up with are so funny. You laugh, but you don't know why. That's the beauty of it. And once you start laughing, you can't sop. Sitting alone in my room, holding this book, tears of laughter rolling down my face, I realised how beautiful life is.
Rating: Summary: A Good Summer Read - but not much more Review: Georgia's take on life is thoroughly entertaining. While other reviewers have bashed her rather shallow behavior, they should understand that she is a purely fictional character who is not necessarily representative of all adolescent girls. I must say, being nearly seventeen myself, that I have never have such issues with boys and eyebrows as Georgia has. The factor that makes this book a three-star (rather than a four-star) title is Georgia's one-sidedness as a character. She is static, and it seems very unlikely that someone of her spunk could find it in her heart to change. Georgia is, most definitely, the kind of girl who is fun to have around - but she seems no where near being mature (spying on her crush's girlfriend, streaking down the block at two am.) Still, Georgia's account seems to be honest, and the parts of the diary involving her psychotic wildcat Angus are hilarious. Risking the use of cliche, this book truly was laugh-out-loud funny! I would recommend this book to any teenage gal who hasn't had that taste of British slang before. In short, as long as you don't regard Georgia as a real person, she has a lot of humor and fun to offer...
Rating: Summary: Hilarious teen read! Review: Definitely one those "laugh out loud" teen reads. I loved it! I had already set my expectations high because I adored The Princess Diaries but this is a new, and equally fun, breed of teen diary. Definitely more realistic and raunchier than the Princess Diaries, but both have an endless amount of charm and wit. I've never been to the UK but, if this book tells any truth, the teenagers are just as wild and crazy as us American teens. Because the similiarities are endless, it is easy to relate to the characters of the book and in the way they handle themselves in certain situations. However, I was really into the story when it just ended. No matter, that is why the series continues. I'll definitely be continuing with Georgia's wacky diary.
Rating: Summary: Great Book...Weird Title!! Review: This book has a really weird name, but it's great!! my mom couldn't believe the name of it but I then told her what it meant and that my 13 year old aunt read it. Note to parents: this isn't a dirty book, like the title makes it sounds. It's hilarious and now I say some of the british words she says in the book to my mom and she just looks at me with a weird expression on her face and then I have to explain it to her!! I was laughing out loud when I read it and couldn't stop laughing afterward! I just knew I had to read the other books in the series. This series is great for anyone 10 to 18

Rating: Summary: Fun Fest Reading! Review: My first encounter with this book was at my local bookstore, where I grabbed the book, which I had seen reviewed in a magazine as "Hilarious." Well, anyway, I plopped in an empty chair that was part of a large semi-circle of people thoroughly engrossed in their books. I crack the book, settle in, and read for about five minutes. Then, the unthinkable: I start cracking up. I just couldn't hold it in! Everyone around me stares, gives my a look saying 'Oh, just shut up you silly girl', and finally, when my face is a little less red, I mumble "Sorry" and go back to the book. Five minutes later, the insides of my cheeks are practically bleeding because I'm biting them so hard to keep from laughing out loud again. This goes on and on for 45 minutes until I finally realize I had better just get the book from the library(I would have bought it then but it was only available in hard-cover and therefore very pricey). So, the next day, still thinking about it, I caved in and ordered it online from Amazon.com, where the price is always reasonable. A few days later it was waiting for me when I got home, and I couldn't wait to dig in!The Format: The format of this book is like a real diary, the main character, Georgia, writes in her journal practically every five minutes, always listing the date and time. It's very entertaining this way, and makes it a more plausible story because very often 14 year old girls do have journals that they frequently write in. The Cast of Characters: Georgia Nicholson is the main character, and, since it is her diary and all, she is the narrator of the story too. Her friends are always changing, but her best friend, Jas, is a constant. She has a mother and father, both of which are a little odd but basically typical, as well as a little sister whom she shares a room with and who constantly wets the bed. There are also several boys involved, but I can't tell you much about them or else I'd give away the end. Do I recommend it? Definitely! This book is hilarious, but definitley not something you should read on the subway to work, you'll get strange looks from everyone when you burst out laughing. This is a very original book, great for everyone, especially older women who want to remember what it's like to be a teenager. Being still a teenager myself, I can really relate to a lot of the situations as well. Also entertaining is the glossary of British slang terms 'Georgia' includes in the back, which is also very useful. I bet you wouldn't know that nuddy-pants means naked if you didn't use the glossary, would you? NOTE TO PARENTS: This would make a great and funny gift for your daughter, but you might not want to give it to her until she's thirteen or fourteen, due to the facts that Georgia discusses lesbianism, sex, breasts, and make out techniques. Yes, that sounds like a lot, but in truth it isn't vulgar, it's just the wonderings of a fourteen year old about what lesbians do and how to be a good kisser. Plus, she's much too obsessed with spying on boys to be graphic about other things. But, all in all, you may want to read this before giving it as a gift to see if YOU find it appropriate. Well, that's my take, I hope it was helpful! Thanks for reading! Also recommended: THE LOSERS CLUB by Richard Perez
Rating: Summary: off the thizzle Review: This book was so good i give it two thumbs way up. ne wayz the book is about a girl named georgia who is very insircure and wonders if you will ever get a boyfriend.
Rating: Summary: Cute book! Review: This is a really fast and easy to read book, finished it just in a few hours. Although I'm way past the age group which the book targets, I just saw it at the library and picked it up. It's a cute, funny diary-like book about a girl and her trials as a young teen, in which she shares stories about school, peer pressure, kissing, friends and Sex Gods. Makes me look back at how carefree it was to be in high school. It's a really fun book to read to pass the time. Book has plenty of British humor and slang, so if you're not familiar with that, be prepared to interrupt your reading by sneaking a peek every now and then at the glossary in the back of the book.
Rating: Summary: A fantastically funny read, even for a 30-something. Review: I'm 31 years old, but I'm still a fan of well-written juvenile literature. As a parent, I like to see what's out there, but more than that I'm a fan of reading & good books are good books no matter for which age they are intended. This is a very good book. Likened to a Bridget Jones for the early-teen set, Georgia's diary is riot. The trials & tribulations she endures in the quest for boy-attention is hilarious & from what I remember completely true. She's a goofball though - someone I'd wish I hung out with back in high school. The passages about her family (especially her toddler-monster sister) had me laughing out loud. I recommend this book to everyone - kids & adults.
