Rating: Summary: As Good as it Gets! Review: This book is sooo funny! It is a year in the life of a British preteen name Georgia who is the most hysterical character imaginable. The book tells of Georgia's boy troubles, her friends, her cat, and lots of other silly stuff to keep you laughing for hours. And since it is a British book, and has some funny words, there is a glossary in the back of the book so you can nknow what's going on. For anyone who says this book is a waster of, money they should shut their mouth. This book shows what being a teenager is really like. In a funny sort of way. From wearing a bra, to wearing make-up, everything is mentioned in these 247 pages. This book really is as good as it gets, and I recommend it to any preteen. The only downside is that it does sometimes have some fairly strong topics not for kids under 10.
Rating: Summary: Don't Waste Your Money Review: With all of the truely worthwile literature out there, why spend your hard earned money on a cynical version of teen life? I want my kids to read books that promote positive life choices. I don't want to put a book in front of them that is condescending toward school and teachers. Your money is hard earned. Buy something else.
Rating: Summary: HYSTERICAL! Review: This must be the funniest book i've ever read! i couldn't put it down, and with every sentence came sincere laughter! i never laugh out loud at books, but you just can't hold back with this one! Georgia's way of describing everything in her life amuses you and keeps all your attention on this book. It's such a cute story about how Georgia finally finds love. She goes on escapades with her friends that seem like so much fun they make you want to go out and do it! With such characters as her parents, her teachers, and Georgia herself this book is a definate 5 stars! Georgia's cat, Angus, just adds to the book's humor as Georgia carefully explains his attitude and whereabouts. All my friends want to read this and my mom even stole it! This book is definatly for everyone! I hope you enjoy it as much as i did!
Rating: Summary: Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging is the Best! Review: Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging is the best book in the world! It is so interesting to see her view in life expessialy because she lives in a totally different place then me. Everything that she does is so funny! But I still think that she should of gave Peter another chance. Hey but it's her life, a weird one at that!
Rating: Summary: It's good! Review: Georgia is the average teenager, hates her parents, loves boys, gets in fights with her friends, teachers annoy her, you know the rest. Georgia shares her thoughts on everything with her journal, which is what the book is, her journal.
Rating: Summary: Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging By Louise Rennison Review: This is a true example of the struggles of teenage life. The diary of Georgia Nichols, is a hysterical look into the mind of a 14 year old girl; whose parents make her blush just to look at them, whose little sister is sweet but slightly off the rails and whose cat savages everything and anything that moves. Georgia, a normal teenage girl, has not such a normal life. This is shown by the way that she describes the daily events, and the names she gives to ordinary people. As the diary progresses we become less aware of reality and seem to be sucked into Georgia's mental world. You begin to feel like you really know her, and as one reader put it, 'she could easily be you.' This book keeps you reading for hours on end as each page holds a new, hysterical situation that Georgia has to deal with. Louise Rennison has cleverly written this book, not as someone on the outside of her mind looking in, but as someone who is in her mind, looking out. It's as if she has seen into a teenager's mind and copied it onto paper. By keeping it realistic, she manages to bring comedy into the story, and keeps you on the edge of your seat, eager to know what's going to happen next. For someone to be able to write about a teenager's life is one thing, but for someone to make it so realistic and to capture the reader's mind is much harder. However, Louise Rennison has managed to do this, and more. Rennison has promised a sequel to this huge selling novel and we wait to see how Georgia has matured, and how she will begin to cope with larger worries, as she grows older, and (hopefully) wiser!
Rating: Summary: oh my god, this is the best book Review: Georgia's view on life and the way she says everything she thinks is totally hilarious. Her rivalry with Lindsay aka Old Swotty Knickers, her love for the Sex God, aka robbie, and ways to avoid wearing uniform berets make me fall down laughing. Theres also a very helpful glossary in the back (just in case you don't know the meaning of nuddy-pants). Though you might get some strange looks while reading the book in public, any teenage girl (or wanna-be-a-teenager mother) will love this book.
Rating: Summary: This book proves the Brittish DO have a sense of humor Review: This was one of the best books I've ever read, following "Holes," by Louis Sachar. Ms. Rennison knows how to attract readers with humor, a sense of relationship to real life, and in the form of a diary. I love this book because Georgia takes what real girls think about, but don't really react to (that guy's cute, I've got a big nose, ect.), and turns them into her whole life! It explains what to do-fix your smile-and what not to do-DON'T shave your eyebrows off. I recomend this book for EVERY SINGLE girl 10 and up!
Rating: Summary: this is the funniest book i have ever read in my life! Review: omg, i have read this book about 500 times! my friends and i quote from it non-stop. everyone should read this book, i was laughing so hard when i first read it!
Rating: Summary: Funniest Book! Review: I adored this book. Georgia was funny, honest and a veryappealing person. She deals with her vicious cat, boys and thecomplexity of being 14. I read the book the second I got it and Icouldn't put it down. This book hit all my expectations, that wereespecially high considering Angus, Thongs, etc...was being compared asthe teenage equelvalent to Brigit Jones Diary. Definitely a book tolook into if your into a little laugh and a stubburn but sweet maincharacter.
