Rating: Summary: Great Book for teen girls to share!! Review: I bought this book because of the title and the reviews, hoping my 12 yr old would enjoy it. I decided to pre-read some to be sure that "snogging" wasn't more than my 12 could handle. I found myself laughing out loud at eyebrow shaving and boy troubles. The language isn't a barrier, the diary style makes it hard to put down, and the situations she gets in are much like any girl could. My daughter read it and so have ALL her friends! It's a keeper! It has turned my girl on to finding other "girl" books and that's success to me!!
Rating: Summary: I thought it would be good. Review: I love teen angst novels, so as soon as I heard about this book I had to read it.So I bought it, read it and was very disappointed.I didn't find it funny, I just found it downright annoying.I'm 14 right now and I don't act that way at all.Georgia seemed more like an 11 year old than 14.The humor wasn't funny at all and most everything about the book was off.I've forgotten most of the book, another reason it wasn't that great, I remember most good books I read. The only reason it got one star was because it had the potential to be good and I liked the cover.Besides that, nothing. If you are looking for funny, great teen angst try the Alice books by Phyllis Renolds Naylor.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious throughout Review: Ahhh...to be 14 again. Umm...no, actually, I wouldn't repeat Freshman year for anything; which is why I loved this book. It reminded me of all the angst and agony that is 14- trying to be beautiful, stressing over a zit, and hanging out with your friends. The extra added bonus here is that Georgia Nicholson, our (s)hero, is British and uses lots and lots of Brit slang. I recognized much of it, since my sis-in-law is from Liverpool and uses the same slang herself. But, for those who don't have such a person, Rennison added a fabulous glossary in the back of the book to help guide us Yanks through her terminology. Georgia is funny and quick witted- she has a 3 year old sister who uses her sanitary napkins for Barbie hammocks and declares to the boy Georgia is obssessed with, "Georgia did a big poo this morning!", much to Georgia's horrified embarassment. Being 30, I felt a bit ridiculous buying this book, but now, I'm so very glad I did. It has been described as "Bridget Jones for the younger set", and I supposed that's a fair description. Funny for women of all ages.
Rating: Summary: Laugh Out Loud Review: When I was reading this book, I laughed out loud every couple minutes! I've recommended this book to alll my friends and now al we have to say is "snogging" for everyone to start laughing hysterically...
Rating: Summary: Double Cool With Knobs! Review: My friends think i am crazy already because i never go ANYWHERE without a book. They now think i am completely insane because of my constant laughing while i was reading this book. I read through class, through lunch and, anyother free time i had. I literally could not out it down. I know this sounds like it is on the back of the book from one of those blurb writers, but its main character is relateable to anyone, young or old who has been in love, wanted to be in love, or has thought they were in love.
Rating: Summary: Wazzzzz shakin Review: I tought this book was veary good. If you are looking for book that teenage girls can relate to this is the book you want. This book was about a girl named Georgia Nicolson who is trying to become a beautiful girl that all the boys like even though she tries had she is still preety ugly. She talks about the strange things she dose in her teens and with her friends my favorite part was when she went to The boy she likes girlfriend's houde to spy on her and tell Robbie what his girlfriend did. If you want to find out if Georgie and Robbie get together read the book Angus, Thong and Full-Frontal Snogging.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious! Review: "Angus" is one of the funniest and most real books ever. I can relate to almost everything georgia thinks and does. You think you've got it bad? Have you ever accidentally shaved off your eyebrows? Has your little sister ever left a lovely dirty diaper in your room? it isn't just georgia who's great! read this book and you'll know robbie (the sex god), Linday (old swotty knickers), unce eddie (old coot!) and libby (sister who smells rather gerbal-ish). READ THIS BOOK! don't worry about the english words. theres a handy-dandy glossary in the back
Rating: Summary: More than just a catchy title... Review: Georgia leads a very ordinary teenaged life: she goes to an all girls high school where sneaking off to Boots (a local drug store) during her free periods with her friends is one of her major activities. Like most girls her age, Georgia is more interested in boys than she is in the mysteries of her schoolwork. At the tender age of 14 she sometimes thinks she's the only girl in the world without a boyfriend, even though she knows this isn't true when she looks at her friends. She becomes even more acutely aware of this when the sex god she falls instantaneously in lust with doesn't even notice her. On top of this, Georgia must contend with her parents (who are a little strange) and a three-year-old sister who likes to leave wet surprises in Georgia's room. Georgia loves her family, but is often mortified by them, so she tries to ignore them as much as possible. She's so good at this that she doesn't really notice when her father leaves for New Zealand to look for a job. She does however take notice when her mother begins to flirt just a little with the builder working on their lounge. Could her life get any worse? This book was funny enough to make me laugh out loud. Georgia is every normal girl taken to the extreme. Her antics will make anything you've ever done or thought of doing look reasonable and completely normal. I can't wait for the sequel!
Rating: Summary: Just what I had been looking for! Review: "Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging: Confessions of Georgia Nicolson" was a book that I had just been looking for! It was hilarious, and I think the author thought a lot about teenage girls stuff. I like books that are in journal format, and this would fall into my favorite book's category. From the first time I looked at the cover, I had wanted to read it. It was pretty popular among my friends too! As I read the book, I thought I could actually see Georgia. There were some really funny parts like when she went to Peter Dyer's house and got a kissing lesson! I was really surprised but that made me laugh!
Rating: Summary: factual and funny! Review: This book is the bomb! It is so awesome. I can totally relate to Georgia's life (except for that kissing teacher part). It is every teenage girl's life told in a very witty and comical way. This book will make you laugh out loud. I can relate to her sadistic teachers, zany parents, and her crush on a "sex god." This is a must read for teenage girls everywhere!
