Rating: Summary: Fresh and Hysterically Funny From Start to Finish Review: I remember when I first picked up this book, I was distracted by the rather bizarre title. I was thinking "Who in the world would read this book?!" Well, now I'd say a lot of people would. I later bought it on impulse and I loved it! I recommended it to my friend (who also balked at the title) but eventually read it and loved it. Angus presents a fresh, realistic character-Georgia Nicholson, a fifteen year old Brit teen. Her family is eccentric and delightfully silly. Her mother, who basically lets Georgia do what she pleases in order to avoid conflict. Her father, who is, in Georgia's opinion, very overprotective. Then there is her bald Uncle Eddie offering her rides on his "prewar motor bike" and her 3 year old sister, Libby, who uses Georgia's foundation on her stuffed toys and creates hammocks for her dolls from her sanitary pads. And of course, the 1/2 Scottish wildcat, Angus. Her friends are similar in that they are likable, quirky and realistic people. During the course of the year, Georgia ends up shaving off her eyebrows, standing up to the school bullies, and stalking her crush's girlfriend. This book chronicles it all in journal format, including her own witty comments and observations. Though she has her faults, Georgia is a likable character with a good heart. You will find yourself cheering for her and laughing with ( and sometimes at) her. I can still crack up when reading certain passages in the book. What is so appealing is that any teenage girl can relate to- the more I read of Angus, the more I saw Georgia in myself. If you want a light, easy read that will make you laugh out loud, this book, reminiscent of Bridget Jones' Diary ( Angus is like the teen version), is perfect. And if you like it, I highly recommend the sequel, On the Bright Side, I am Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God. It is also funny, if not more hysterical than the first.
Rating: Summary: For ages 10 - 1,000. Review: You'll laugh until. . . until I don't know when, I still haven't stopped laughing. It is 'Fabity, fab, fab' 'Double cool with knobs'. This is not the book you want to read aloud. But still it is halarioyly halrious. ***************** (17 stars)
Rating: Summary: Awesome book! Review: Wow, this book blew me away. My English teacher surprisingly recommended it to me for a book report! I read the book in 2 days and it was the most interesting book I've ever read. The glossary pages were about to fall out after I kept reading them. Of course, reading the book in school received some pretty odd looks, thinking I had a nasty brain or something, but this is the funniest book I've ever read. 5 stars, and after my English teacher finishes it, I'm reading On the Bright Side, At Least I'm the Girlfriend of a Sex God!
Rating: Summary: This book rocks! Review: This book is one of the funniest ones I have ever read. It honestly makes you laugh out loud, (so be careful where you read it... I got a lot of strange stares when I was laughing like crazy.) I think anyone beween the ages of 13 and 23 would like this book, you can really relate to it.
Rating: Summary: better than tv?! Review: This is one of the best books I have EVER read. When I first saw the title, I had doubts on whether I should read it or not, I'm so glad that I did. Unlike other books, I was enthralled from the very first page and couldn't put it down till I was done with the very last. Reading about the life of Georgia and the seemingly endless number of "situations" she was getting herself into was hilarious (I would often find myself bursting into laughter), it's perhaps even better than watching TV. I really liked Georgia's terminology. I think that it really helps the reader understand how she feels and just really adds to the "reading mood". It's also very helpful that she has a glossary in the back explaining her vocabulary. Another that I liked was reading about the things that she did in order to impress the "sexgod". Something that I thought was weird is how she always managed to write everything down as it happens, as though she carries her diary with her 24/7. Overall, I really really really enjoyed the book! It's totally worth having a copy of your own so that you can read it again and again whenever you want to!
Rating: Summary: Fabity Fab Fab!! Review: This great diary of a teenage girl struggling for recognition from her friends, boys and her family speaks true to any teenage girl who has a pulse. She is eratically hilarious, and i just can't help quoting many great lines from the book, and through her precedent, i have begun to call my mother Muttie and Vati just like Georgia (it is very sad, but actually fun as well). My only reccomendation is that no one tries to be like Georgia. she is not always the nicest of people, but her great pranks are full of unbounding hilariosity. I also suggest the sequel to this book: On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God. It is just as funny as the first. I loved this book. It was also fun to listen to on tape, i think it is the author reading, and her interpretation just adds to the joy. I really recomend this.
Rating: Summary: think this is good? try reading the second one Review: I read the title of this book in a magazine and knew i would just die if i didnt read it. After asking my dad to buy it the next time he went to the US on business, and seeing my parents bewilderment at the title, i already knew i would love it. Needles to say, he didnt buy it. I dont think he had the [courage] to go into a book store and ask for something containg the words "thongs" and "snogging". Since then i have read both of the books at least a dozen times each and laughed louder and louder every time. My class thought i had issues. Some1 liked them so much that they STOLE them from me (great....) and since then i have had to go and buy them AGAIN. All i know is that whether you are happy, sad, depressed or lonely, this book will make all of your troubles melt away.
Rating: Summary: FUN AND HILLARIOUS!!! Review: Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging is the hillarious story of Georgia Nicholson, a 14-year-old british teenager with a great sense of humor. I frequently laughed out loud while I was reading this book. Any female from age 11 and up will love the adventures and misadventures of Georgia. At first, I was a little reluctant to read it because of the title, but once I took it off the shelves and started reading it, I couldn't put it down. READ THIS BOOK!!!!!! You won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: Hilarity Galore! Review: OMG, this was hilarious. I read it in the car, and my mom almost had to stop the car since she didn't know what was wrong! All my friends were reading it and I know why! My mom didn't approve though. She hated the titles. Oh well, all in the life of a teen!
Rating: Summary: Best book ever Review: Ok, if you could only read one more book in your whole life you should choose this one! It totally rocks! I used to read all the time, but lately I just have not felt like it. Then someone introduced me to Angus, Thongs, and Full-frontal snogging. I read the whole thing in one sitting! It was great! It is basically about a young girl growing up. It's written from a British girl's point of view w/a glossary from us Americans. Even the glossary is entertaining. It is very realistic. I loved it! I could read it over and over agian! It is laugh out loud funny. The second one is good too, but nothing beats the first! I really hope there are more to come in the future, these should take harry potter's place!
