Summary: Hilarious and fun!
Review: British author Louise Rennison's Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging is written as the diary of a fourteen year old girl named Georgia. Georgia has the worries and concerns of many girls her age; she frets about her nose, her eyebrows, her hair color and whether or not boys will like her. She tells of her interactions with her mother, father and baby sister (who has hilarious toilet training issues), as well as her girlfriends from her all girls' school. The "diary" is frequently laugh-out-loud funny. Georgia's impetuousness tends to get herself into difficult (but amusing) situations, and her tendency to exaggerate about the myriad trials and tribulations of being a teenager makes her "diary" a very entertaining read.

Angus is full of British terms. So full, in fact, that it was necessary for the publisher to add a glossary at the back to help American readers understand. This glossary is most valuable in explaining the various insults Georgia uses, as well as school related words like "forms," and "blodge" (slang for "biology"). Despite the obvious differences in location and slang, Georgia's life is very much like that of American girls, who will easily relate to Georgia's interests and concerns.

I enjoyed Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging very much. Anytime I need a laugh I can revisit Georgia's diaries.

Summary: If you think the title is strange . . .
Review: (...)

Georgia describes all these events and the emotions that go with them in a candid and hilarious narrative. Despite some logistical problems (Would Georgia really be writing in her diary outside Lindsay's house while stalking her?), the format makes the story more realistic and really brings Georgia to life.

If you're wondering about the title, Angus is Georgia's giant, bizarre cat who causes all kinds of problems. You'll have to read the story to find out about thongs, and "full-frontal snogging" refers to "kissing with all the trimmings." Since Georgia uses a lot of British slang, she mercifully provides a glossary at the back of the book. You might want to read the glossary before the diary so Georgia's narration makes more sense.

Overall, this is a delightful book that goes by far too quickly. Fortunately, there's a sequel!

Summary: Getting the Guy of Your Dreams
Review: Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging is a very interesting book in the form of a 14 year old girl. Her name is Georgia and her goal is to get the guy of her dreams, Robbie. This is hard for Georgia, though, because that "guy of her dreams" already has a girlfriend. She thinks that her family members are kind of crazy and that her dad and mom are going to get a divorce. She has a younger sister who Georgia thinks hid her diaper in her bed and a small labrador sized cat named Angus who is after her next door neighbors poodle.
I liked this book because it was funny and had many descriptive words in there. One thing that I didn't like in this book was because there were a lot of weird English words such as snog and nuddy-pants. My favorite quote in this book is," The only nice person is Libby. She was stroking where my eyebrows used to be and then she went off and brought me a lump of cheese." I like this quote because I think is hilariously funny.
Another quote I like is," Libby was furious, she called him, "Bad, big uggy, bad," and stuck her finger in his eye, which made him cry properly." I like this quote because, yes, it is funny and makes me think what would happen if my dad ever went away to find a house for us to move away and live in.
I really enjoyed reading this book and would like to read the sequel to this called, On the Bright Side, I Am Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God. I recommend this book to all preteen and teenage girls because it is funny and goes over pretty much almost everything a girl would think is important in a girl's life. As I said, I really liked reading this book.

Summary: I just love it!
Review: I love diaries, and this is another great one, except I live in the US, and it's a little hard for me to understand all the British slang.

Summary: Aahh the trials and tribulations of being 14
Review: This book is written as the diary of Georgia who is 14. You start a few days before the start of the school year and continue to the end of the year. Along the way Georgia deals with a little sister who likes to leave wet diapers in her bed, a best friend who is almost as boy crazy as she is as well as a cat who might just be the next weapon of mass destruction. Along the way she takes kissing lessons and ends up with a few boyfriends. But, does she get the boy that she really wants?

You follow the life of an adolescent and get to see into her mind.
