Rating: Summary: Oh, the hilariosity! Review: OK, I admit it. I'm an adult. I am a veteran middle school teacher who caught sight of the bright cover of this book when it was on a student's desk. I was intrigued when I saw the title, so I asked to borrow the book. I laughed my knickers off and am now addicted to Rennison's humor. I have read each of these books and will read anything else I can find by this author. I have a friend hooked as well, and her daughters, 11 and 14, are enjoying the books with her. Anyone who has survived the age of 15 will appreciate Georgia's tales of friendship, boyfriends, and bravely coping with pathetic parents who are embarassingly out of touch (her father's wardrobe is "tragic"). As funny as the book is, the "glossary" is even more amusing, since Georgia finds herself at a loss to explain why those of us in Hamburger-a-gogo land use words such as "bangs" and "restroom" instead of the more obvious "fringe" and "loo". All of us will remember being this self-centered and ridden with angst. We just didn't have Georgia's wisdomosity. Which is a shame. Truly.
Rating: Summary: Wow. Review: I LOVED this book. I've read it several times! I now derive about half of my slang vocabulary from it!
Rating: Summary: too much hype - too much disappointment Review: I heard about this book from a YA librarian. She called it the "Bridget Jones" for teens. I share that sentiment, but not with the same enthusiasm with which it was presented. Georgia is as shallow as Bridget but without the years of expereince to make her this way. I don't think she is a positive role model for young girls. The book is fun and mildly entertaining but completely disposable. I suggest young women read Speak instead.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious Review: Everyone I know just raves about this book. After one person read it, they would pass it on to another and before long, there was a long waiting list between my friends for who would borrow the book next. I went to the local library to borrow this book and all of seven copies they had were out. So, finally, I went to a local book store and bought the last copy they had. And, I must say, all the hustle to read the book was well worth it. It's hilariously fabulous and keeps you reading after every entry. It's just wonderful
Rating: Summary: A Truly Enjoyable Teen Novel Review: Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging caught me completely off guard. First of all, I thought the title was kind of odd and I wasn't really sure what I was in for, since I haven't read a teen novel in a good while and this novel happened to come from England. But author Louise Rennison captures my attention with this hilarious novel that is about the life of a fourteen year old British girl. Georgia Nicholson is a bit of a change from the other teen heroines presented is other novels. She's vapid, selfish, and is concerned mostly on her appearance. She lives in a dysfunctional household with a cat who is in need of barbiturates, a little sister who hides her dirty diapers everywhere, and parents who she wishes she was never related to. The big highlight of this book is that it's funny, one of the funniest books that I have read in a long time. Rennison pumps a lot of life into her character through her unique brand of humor. Weather Georgia is failing at trying to nab the boy of her dreams or is getting yelled at by her school headmistress, she gets through her troubled teenage life with her own little inside jokes and a little reflection in her diary. This book is fresh, funny and is a great story for any teenager to read. You can find some way to connect to Georgia, no matter which country you come from.

Rating: Summary: Snogging good fun, this! Review: The first volume of the confessions of Georgia Nicolson. This book is set up like a diary, but the timing and phrasing makes it read more like a transcript. Pay attention to some of the timestamps. Very few books have caused me to laugh out loud. Only one kept me laughing all the way through. Until now, that is. Absolutely hilarious. Georgia Nicolson is a young (almost fifteen) girl being faced with more than her share life's uncertainties and unfairness. She has an annoying, but funny, three-year-old sister, a cat that is part Scottish wildcat that will eat just about anything, including his lead, a clueless mother, out-of-date parents, and a gang of friends that are sometimes worse than enemies. Georgia must face maturing while trying to have fun, the bottomless mysteries of boys, snogging lessons, crazy teachers and a strict but crazy school. But then one of her friends becomes enamored of Tom, a clerk in a grocer. But Tom has a brother Robbie who, as Georgia puts it, is a Sex God. Georgia is hooked but how can she hook him back? What about the snogging instructor, or the whelk that put his hand...? To find out the answers, you just have to read this book. Hilarious to the end.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Review: All i can say is it's a great book! If you get the chance read it and all of the other ones as well, you won't be disappointed!!!
Rating: Summary: Hilarious Review: This was one of the funniest books I've read in a long time. Georgia has a wierd sense of humor, and I just loved reading about all the misfortunes in her life! The only thing I have to be critical of is how rude Georgia is to her parents and her friends. In a way, I sometimes think the author must have been writing some sort of parody about teens. Georgia is rude to every single adult she knows, and horrible to her parents. She's even mean to her friends, especially Jas. If Jas has a problem, Georgia says "Shut-up now, Jas" then a second later starts in about her love problems with "The Sex God," expecting Jas to actually care. Other than those parts though, the book is hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud at parts (even when I was on the bus alone, talk about embarassing), and the end was by far the funniest part (although I'm not going to ruin it and tell you why). Anyway, this is a must read for everyone, unless you hate reading about ditzy girls who are rude and only interested in how they look.
