Rating: Summary: Lemony Mysteries Review: I love Lemony Snicket!! He is honestly one of the best authors I know. Read this book AFTER you have read the other ten, or it will be majorly confusing. I speak as someone who read this when I had only read up to #5. Mistake. I am an avid reader of Lemony, and have spent much time and energy researching his books for answers to the mysteries of the series, and this book, while confusing, helps a lot. This book is excellent.
Rating: Summary: If you think this has no effect on the series- YOU'RE WRONG! Review: This is a book that finally lets us look through the windows of what's happening in V.F.D. It gives us the answers to some of the mysteries that the series presents. Though the Baudelaires don't find out these answers it keeps the readers at ease.
Rating: Summary: Ah, my sense of humor Review: I read this book after I had read 3 or 4 of the Series of Unfortunate Events books, and I thought it was hilarious. Now that I have read further I get more of the "inside jokes" and it just gets funnier. The sad part is, I read it as a library book so I couldn't use the reversible cover, though I did get to read most of it through that Scotch tape and laminating stuff. Anyway, Lemony Snicket (or whoever he is--if someone knows, drop me a note)is a hilarious writer, or at least I think so. It's just my sense of humor, up there with Monty Python, etc. Still, you should read SoUE first.
Rating: Summary: Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography Review: it was slitely confusing but very good.
Rating: Summary: The One to Read LAST!! Review: Ok, please don't pick up this book until you have read the first 9 of the Lemony Snicket books. Why? Because this is one of those stand points to give you more info about the story before you go ahead and read the rest of the Lemony Snicket books. This is the one book where the mystery kinda comes together backwards. It starts out with general text of the supposid "meetings" between Lemony Snicket's and others (not named) also including letters between many people in the stories and out side of the story.
Rating: Summary: Dissapointed Review: I am a very big fan of this series but this was just a dissapointment. Maybe there was something I didn't get but it wasn't that great that's all. There was a bit of humor with the reversable cover but that was it. I got half way thgrough and became bored so I exchanged it. If your a fan like me, dont be fooled!! This book is only OK\, sorry snicket.
Rating: Summary: A Very Informative Book Review: Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography was a great book to read. I have read all of the books in the series, and am awaiting the arrival of the next book, even though I have gotten older than most people are that read these books. I brought the Autobioraphy with me to camp, and found that everyone that had read Lemony Snicket's books in the past desperetly wanted to get ahold of this book! It answed a lot of questions I had about the books, but it still left some mysteries for me to find out. Even though I am 13 (and I read adult books as well), I still found the book entertaining and witty. This book is great for anyone of any age, as long as you enjoy wit and intellegent humor.
Rating: Summary: This book is AWWWWWWWWESOME Review: This book is hilarious, creepy and down right COOL!!! I found that this book is very strongly related to the others in that it tells you about the investigations that you don't hear in the books. I think V.F.D. stands for Voulenteer Fire Department. It didn't come from the book but if you pay close attention it gives more suggestions! In other words this book is great!
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: Lemony SnicketThis book is one of the best mystery books I have ever read. The Genre is surprisingly mystery instead of an autobiography even though the author calls it an autobiography. Lemony Snicket by Lemony Snicket, shows that you sometimes have to look out of the box to find answers. Lemony Snicket, the main character, is part of the V.F.D., a secret organization that solves mysteries. He does ridiculous things like pretend to be a mad cow or interrogate ignorant animals. He is also a writer and a person whom everyone thinks is a fugitive. It takes place in a town called Paltryville and it does not state the time, but I assume it was about 10 years ago. Everyone in the town is weird. The animals are weird, which makes a perfect, thrilling mystery setting. There are several peculiar mysteries that all link together. First, Lemony is accused of homicide. Secondly, some weird abnormal reptiles escape. Everyone is conspiring and talking in secret code. You will never know anything more about the plot because you have to figure it out yourself from hidden clues! I would rate this book a 9 because you must look out of the box to find answers. I really like books where you interact and only you can help yourself solve the mystery. I would recommend this book to everyone because it is so good. I can't just keep it to myself.
Rating: Summary: A Series of Unfortunate Chapters. Review: Lemony Snicket has certainly got his hooks in me. I can't finish one of his books without wondering when I will be able to start another. His madcap humor is so original I am surprised that he is not more widely known. However, this book really left me wondering what he was thinking. As I read this book, I felt I was standing on the outside of an inside joke. This should not discourage you from reading the Series Of Unfortunate Events. Maybe as I read more volumes it will make sense, but right now (reading number four right now) I haven't a clue.
