Summary: Wow
Review: After reading many fantasy books, and enjoying their simplicity and fun, I thought I might have seen everything there was to see about fantasy books, though I would keep reading them. Soon after this unbelievably wrong thought crossed my mind, I picked up the first Alanna book, and saw how amazing certain types of fiction could be. When I finished the entire Lioness Quartet, I rushed to the library to pick up the Immortals Series. I was not let down, and certainly no disappointment showed through my awe of Ms. Pierce's writing, as not formulaic as humanly possible. Throughout the series, you are given interesting cliff hangers and shocking surprises. Daine turns into a very real girl, going through her rather difficult trials. Numair adds humour and grounding to the story, and is also a wonderful character. You wont be disappointed by the appearances of characters from the Song of the Lioness series. As Daine comes to grips with her magic and past, her world is thrown into chaos with political and romantic intrigues around her, and the world as humans know it is disappearing, one immortal sighting at a time. As you will soon find, Immortals are creatures from the Divine Realms who were imprisoned by mages many years ago. They start appearing throughout the lands, evil ones such as Spidrens- spiders with human heads, hurroks- evil winged horses, and ambivalent ones, griffins, and others. These, mixed with political intrigue, and Daine's uncanny ability- soon discovered to be magic- to talk to animals are woven in the beautifully enticing books. You wont be disappointed if you buy them.

Summary: The Realms of the Gods: 4th book in the Immortals quartet
Review: All of the Immortlas books by Tamora Pierce are wonderful, as are all her Tortallan series- The Song of the Lioness, Daughter of the Lioness, and Protector of the Small. I especially loved the Realms of the Gods, however, because of the different genres- mystery, action, adventure, and (finally) the added romance! I think that this book is great and I highly recommend all the series listed above to anyone who enjoys fantasy novels!

Summary: These are great
Review: Every book in this quartet are ones that I have never been disapointed in. Numair is a funny guy, and it's so awesome to have all the characters from the Songs of the Lioness series make appearances. I highly recommend these, and all books by Tamora Pierce, I think she is an excellent author!

Summary: Love is in the air.
Review: I am a huge fan of Tamora Pierce, and i must say this is one of her best. for me its the romance between Daine and Numair. there are hints here and there, like Numair's voice and his eyes which make my heart melt. Stuck in the gods home, when there is a war in the mortal realms, there is love in the air when Daine never dies, Numair comes to save her. even with this love they can't stop until they get back to the mortal realms. after bloodshed, changing shapes and a goddess getting punished Numair and Daine have survived and come together at last.

Summary: Great Series
Review: I first read the Immortals series when I borrowed the books from a friend when was in 9th grade. I finished the first book and I had to read the rest right away! The series is about a young woman who discovers she has a very rare power that lets her have a unique bond with animals. During the course of the series she meets new friends (and foes) as her powers continue to blossom. This is a fantastic tale of a girl's memorable journey from childhood into that of a young woman's. The Immortals series is written for young adults, but it is a good read for women (and men!) of all ages. Now I'm a Sophomore in college, and it's been 5 years since I've read the series. I'm buying it so I can read it again. These are four books that will stick with you for the rest of your life.

Summary: Great for both children and adults
Review: I have read every work published by Ms. Pierce. And of all the many series she has published, The Immortals is by far the best.

The story is about a girl named Diane whose family has recently been murdered by bandits. Desperate to get away from her town, Diane sets out, with her Mare, to find a new place to live. At a local fair Diane runs across the horse mistress for the king of Tortall. Diane suddenly finds herself immersed in a world beyond her imagination. She meets wizards and kings; life-sized spiders and beautiful golden griffins.

Diane is told that she has a very rare form of magic called Wild Magic; which enables her to communicate with animals, both mortal and immortal. Her adventures take her from the kingdom of Tortall to mysterious islands; from the desert to lush menageries.

Adults will enjoy the series because it is a very easy read. Children will love the fact that they can be immersed into the world of fantasy.

It is nice to see this whole series boxed up in one location. I may have to go out and buy it as a whole.

Summary: Daine's Travails / Travels With Wolves
Review: I was reading a lot of newer fantasy and I happened to run across this series. _The Immortals_ was actually the first set of books by Tamora Pierce that I read in the whole series, I have to consider the previous quarter which began with _Alanna_ as the beginning of the series.

I don't know if I have all her books to date, but I do plan to reread the ones I have very soon. Her style of storytelling is engaging and in parts fun, and her characters, even for many of the fantastic elements, face some very real-life problems.

I'm a writer myself, so I read for style and content: and I can say she definitely has hefty doses of both in her books.

Summary: The Immortals
Review: Immortals are beings who don't die of old age or disease - to die they have to be killed. Some Immortals are good, but the majority are not.
When a young girl finds she can talk to animals, it leads to many sorts of things. Set in the same world as Tamora Pierce's Song of the Lioness Quartet, you get to meet same characters - including Alanna.
This whole quartet is wonderful!

Summary: tamora pierce is the best
Review: In this set of books, Ms. Pierce continues her Tortall series by introducing a new heroine Daine. Enemy's of Tortall have released immortal creatures from the Realm of the Gods where they where penned-up for the last 400+ years and have directed them to attach Tortall. Help is on the way though, Daine has the ability to speak to animals and has the gift of "wild magic." The series takes us though 4 books during which Daine will have many adventures and Tortall will never be the same. Taking place between the Song of the Lioness series and The Protector of the Small series, Daine's adventures cover everything from falling in love to fighting battles. This is a truly enjoyable series. Yet another hit for Ms. Pierce!

Summary: Pierce Rocks!
Review: The fourth and final book of the Immortals Quartet is just as wonderful as all the others. There's not much to say about Tamora Pierce that has not been said already.

The Immortals War is on, and Daine and Numair are in the thick of it. Called out to fight yet another unknown enemy, they find themselves in peril of loosing their lives. Suddenly, they are swept into the legendary Realms of the Gods, where Daine is reunited with her mother (now a minor goddess) and learns many secrets about her past. But the war goes on in the mortal realms, and Daine and Numair MUST get back to help. They undertake the extremely dangerous journey to Dragonlands, where the dragons-hopefully-will take them back to their home. During their journey, they realize that the war between the Great Gods and Chaos in this realm is related to their war in the mortal realms. While they travel, they learn even more about life, love, and eachother. But will they get back in time to save the entire world-even the Realms of the Gods-from falling into Chaos? And will they get out of it alive?

With a passionate romance, wonderful characters-god and mortal alike, and an intensely suspenseful plot, this is a amazing ending to an amazing series.
