Rating: Summary: waste of time Review: i read the book several times and took notes. i then used the practice tests to study. i took the test and i believe that i passed. the problem is that i found myself making educated guesses on at least 50% of the questions. the book and practice tests were very similar to a normal text book and course test. that may seem like a good thing, however, the clep test was not organized in the same fashion. it asked for generalizations over a period of time. i also encountered several topics on the test which were not even mentioned in the book. as compared to the book i used for the principles of management test, i found this book to be a poor return on study time invested.
Rating: Summary: excellent book Review: I read the book twice and took the practice exams. I passed the CLEP with a 600. All in a two week period.
Rating: Summary: Passed the test with a 70 Review: I read this book cover to cover twice and passed the test with a 70. The exams were the best help. Read the explanations carefully if you answer them wrong, keep doing each exam until you can answer all the questions, and you'll pass!
Rating: Summary: very comprehensive Review: I studied it for a few months and still need more time. it is a lot of information. I passed by a 55.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: I studied this book for 1 week before taking the CLEP Exam. I passed with a 54 score. Excellent book for history review.
Rating: Summary: Great US History I study guide Review: I studied this book for about 2 weeks and passed with a score of 60. I knew very little about US History and this book was all that I studied. Good Luck!
Rating: Summary: BUY THIS BOOK! Review: I studied this book for less than a week before passing the CLEP with a 53. I'm impressed- can't wait to take another exam.
Rating: Summary: Good Information but..... Review: I used only this book to prepare for the test which I took May of 2004. I read it through once and took all three practice tests multiple times until I got around 80%. Be sure to read all the explanations to the questions there is additional info there that doesn't appear to be covered in the chapters. I felt I was prepared when I started the test but the actually questions were so different to what I had studied that I was certain I had failed. Thankfully I got a 64 so although the questions were different the information provided in the book was enough of a base to get through the test.
Rating: Summary: It is the best! Review: I used this as a study guide and scored a 78 out of 80. Excellent job on the content.
Rating: Summary: Huge disappointment Review: I was totally disappointed in this book. I studied for a month and it did me little good. This book seems to be geared for a high school exam, not college level. Don't waste your money, I did, won't be referring this one to anybody.
