Review: I have only read one of these books(the Dark is Rising),and as soon as I heard that Susan Cooper had other books out based on the Dark is Rising, I knew I would find it here, on Amazon.com!!! Definetly a good book for anyone who likes adventure, thrill, magic, and fantasy!!! If you liked the chronicles of Narnia,and the Harry Potter books,get this book!!!!!!!!

Summary: Terrific fantasy series for adults or kids
Review: I first read these books when I was eight. I loved them. I most recently re-read them when I was twenty-eight. I still loved them. This is one of the best fantasy series I've ever read, incorporating Celtic legends alongside very real modern-day tales of living. That it is from the perspective of children only serves to make it accessible to children, not to make it inaccessible to adults. The writing is crisp and beautiful: the dialogue is absolutely authentic, engaging, and wonderful; the descriptions are vivid and pull you into the world. I cannot recommend this series too highly--if you love fantasy, or you have a child who does, there are few, if any, better ways to indulge yourself than to pick up these books.

Review: The "The Dark is Rising" sequence belongs to my most loved books. I found them when I had already 25 years. Now I have 42 and continue to read them!!! I want to buy these books again and again to give them to others, because everone should read them. The first book I had was "The Dark is Rising" and I read the whole night through, because I could'nt stop....

Review: Susan Cooper is a grand author. She really draws you into the story. The books have all the stuff a fantasty-lover wants: aventure, different worlds, the conflict of good and evil, magical powers, etc. I told my friends about them, and even the I-don't-read-fantasty fellas liked it. They are the bomb. I recomend these books to 9 and up. Now,READ THEM!!!

Review: These are really well written books. Susan Cooper has a wonderful writing style and delightful characters. You will be drawn into the world of Will Stanton, Bran Davies, the three Drews, and Merriman Lyon, into a world that could exist in ours. I loved these books from the minute I started them. I was so entranced I couldn't put them down. I suggest that people of all ages should read them and will hopefully enjoy them as much as I did!
