Summary: Fabulous!
Review: As a reading teacher, I read lots and lots of children's books each year. This one is on my "Top Five" list! It's laugh-out-loud funny, poignant, and, best of all, the kids LOVE it! (Even my most reluctant readers!) I plan on ordering a class set of these for use in the coming school year---it's that good.

Summary: Bud not Buddy Rating
Review: iliked this book because Bud went out of his way to just find his dad. I can understand that ,because any kid would want to know about thier family. Also because he went through some tough times but he didn't give up.

Summary: Bud, and only Bud.
Review: This book makes you laugh out loud when you're reading it. With all those funny words and Bud's book, "Bud Caldwell's Rules and Things for Having a Funner Life and Making a Better Liar Out of Yourself," Mr. Curtis makes this book SO hilarious! But it is sad since he has to go through all the pain and bad experiences with the adoption families. His goal is to find the man he thinks is his father, but does he find him? Read this well written book to find out.

Summary: The best
Review: I am a 39 year old father of three kids. Bud, Not Buddy is one of the best books I have ever read. My kids love for me to read it at bedtime. I look forward to it almost as much as they do. It is a fantastic adventure and a lovingly written story.

Summary: Woop zoop sloop, and you'll love it.
Review: In the spirit of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, Bud, Not Buddy is a great adventure story of a boy looking for family. Bud is intelligent, resourceful and interesting. A character brought to life by Curtis and his wonderful sense of detail. My reluctant readers have all enjoyed this book.

Set in Flint, MI during the depression, this book has a great historical basis. This gives kids an idea of what life might have been like for youngsters in the late 30's. Curtis communicates a sense of hope and determination that moves the book along until the moving ending.

Good for read aloud in the middle school.

Summary: A great book for 11-14 year old kids
Review: I read the book Bud Not Buddy. I thought it was a great book for all ages 11-14. It paints an amazing picture of a boy during the depression. It is a great story filled with confidence. I am also planning on reading Christopher Paul Curtis's (the author of Bud Not Buddy) book The Waltson's go to Birmingham.

Summary: Bud, Not Buddy, A Book Worth Reading
Review: If you have a craving favor for descriptive writing, you have many musical interests, and you love beautiful adventure, "Bud, Not Buddy" is your kind of book. After reading this beyond belief novel, you will finally realize what a trip from Flint, Michigan to the Grand Rapids is all about. You will know what it is like to travel on a big adventure and learn from the past. Not only was this my all-time favorite novel, but it helped me express bundles of joy and imagination with a bit of humor as well. The author (Christopher Paul Curtis) blends non-fictional characters with fictional characters to make a novel that sets the standard for once and for all.

Summary: Bud,Not Buddy
Review: I would really recommend this book for the reason of it was really a great book. And the reason why i say that the book Bud,Not Buddy is because it was everything it was funny, and emotional. I think the best part of the book is when he finds his grandparents. But the grandfather Herman E Calloway did'nt belive Bud that he was his grandpa. Herman E Calloway did'nt know that Buds mom has been past away because of Angela Caldwell had ran away because of the way Herman treated her. But as soon as Bud found his grandparents Bud told them that Angela had died when Bud was six years old. And that was 4 years ago. And as soon as Bud told Herman that she died and he could'nt take as a man.
