Rating: Summary: Bud, Not Buddy Review: ...One day I picked up the book and started reading and [w]hen I['d] finished the first chapter I got kind of interested so I kept on reading. In the end I was so glad that I did choose to read this book. When I read this book I had no trouble at all at understanding it. Everything was so clear. I saw every small detail that the book talked about. I recommend this book to people who like adventurous books. There are some cliffhangers that make you want to keep on reading. Although it doesn't look exciting, it is when you actually read the book. This book is also funny. One part was when Bud went to the foster home there was a boy who stuck two things up his nose. I laughed when I imagined this happening. Another part was when Bud was trying to get on the train he quickly threw his suitcase at Bugs who was already in the train, but than a flyer flew by. He slowed down and put in his pocket. After this incident Bud decided that he wanted to see one of his family members who is a famous band player. My favorite part of the story is when Bud finally gets united with a family member of his. He struggled a lot just to get to him. At first people didn't believe him, but he made his way and finally succeeded at what he wanted. ...He met some friends on the way. One of them is named Bugs. They spent a lot of time together. I mentioned him earlier that he was the one who helped Bud at the train.
Rating: Summary: Bud, Not Buddy Review: Bud, Not Buddy is a great, funny, and interesting book. I thought this book was great because of the comedy and the way he was treated. Well, actually it was kind of mean. The reason I choose this book is because my friend had suggested it to me. Also I choose this book because of the cover. Another reason is because when I started reading this book I liked it alot. What I mean is that i was really into the book. Bud is an orphange child. His mom died when he was like 4 or 5 years old. His father left them because of the music business. So he gets foster parents and he doesn't like living with them because they are so mean to him. They actually make him live in the shed in the yard, because they think he is mean. The real person that is mean was his older brother. So then he decided to run away from home. If you want to find out what happens next get this book. I gave you my reason why I like this book. So I think you should get this book to read on about what will happen next. So don't just sit there go to the library and check it out. I know you will like this book. I gerentee it.

Rating: Summary: sleepy la bone Review: Bud, not Buddy was one of my favorite books. It told an amazing adventure, but at the same time it taught you new things about the time period of The Depression. It shows that a little boy with big determanation can do the impossible. I think that Bud in an eccentric, sneaky character who loves to lie and trick. He tries to slither his way out of trouble, but yet is always caught in the middle of it. This book is an adventure, a mystery, an action, and a drama all at the same time. I definitely recommend this book to anyone and everyone that wants to experience the thrills and chills of Christopher Paul Curtis.
Rating: Summary: run away Bud Review: Bud, the main character, is an orphan. When his mother was alive, she kept posters of a musician named Herman E. Calloway. Bud thinks this is his father, whom he never met. When he goes to meet Calloway, there was a surprise. It wasn't a very good book and the surprise ending wasn't much of a surprise. Oh well, you might like it.

Rating: Summary: Boring, little action, good plot Review: Bud not buddy has very litlle action. Just about the only action in the book was when he got trapped in the shed and when he was trying to get on the train west. This book was very boring because there were too many descriptions. The reason why I gave the book any stars is because it had a good plot. I mean who doesn't want to read a book about a kid trying to find his grandpa.
