Rating: Summary: Walk Two Moons Review: Walk Two moons is a very well witten story By Sharon Creech. The first 80 pages of the book did not keep my interest but as I read on and the story got weaved together I was gingerly sitting at the end of my chair waitng for Salamanca and her companion Phoebe to make there next move. This story is about a 13 year old girl named Salamanca Tree Hiddle. Her passion for nature will never be forgotten. When Salamana was a little girl her mother left her behind without saying goodbye and only leaving a scrap of paper. When Salamanca gets older, her grandma and grandpa take her from Bybanks, Kentucky all the way to Lewiston, Idaho where she had last heard from her mother. As they drive on Salamanca tells a wonderful story about Phoebe Winterbottom. It is a similar story about Salamanca and how Phoebe's mother disappears. Salamanca and Phoebe uncover many clues from the so called "potential lunatic". This is one of my favorite books and I'm sure you will enjoy it, too.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic book!!! Review: I teach school and I use this book in the classroom. It is wonderful. It is a multi-layered book that even states that it is in the beginning of the story by comparing the storyteller's story to a wall that the storyteller's father tears down only to find something beneath. The figurative language is wonderful. I would highly recommend this story to anyone that is looking for a good book to read that really makes you think. Young and old alike.
Rating: Summary: Walk Two Moons Review: Walk Two Moons was a good book, but it definitely wasn't one of my favorites. One thing I didn't like was that there was hardly any action. The only time that I didn't want to put the book down was when Sal was at Phoebe's house waiting to find out who the lunatic was in connection with Phoebe's mother. I did however, like how unique Sal was. I mean, not many people think that kisses taste like blackberries. Another thing that I liked was the way Mrs. Creech described things like the trees and the swimming hole. It made you feel like you were there.I think the best part of the book was the end, when everything came together. Things had changed, but everyone was happy again. Everything was as normal as could be expected. Also, things finally started happening, like Phoebe's mother caoming back, and Sal driving herself to Lewiston. The end was so much more exciting than the rest of the book. For me the setting and the climax were the most vivid elements. The setting because as much as places like the farm were talked about, it made me feel like I had been there. I also liked the setting because some of the places they stopped are places I would like to visit. I picked the climax because it was the most exciting part. granted, it was a long time coming, and sometimes I wondered if I would fall asleep before I saw any action, but once it came it was good. Overall, Walk Two Moons was a good book.
Rating: Summary: Really touching Review: This book is so sad. It's about a girl named Sal. Her mother leaves and moves to Idaho, and shortly after, Sal and her father move from their farm in Bybanks, Kentucky, where Sal has lived her whole life, and go to a small town in Ohio. Sal misses her farm in Kentucky, but she makes friends with a girl named Phoebe. The book takes place in a car with Sal's grandparents. They are driving to Idaho to see Sal's mother, and on the way, Sal tells them the strange story about her friend, Phoebe. The end of the book is really sad and touching and this is such a fantastic book. I definetely reccomend this.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book with a Great Story Review: A girl called Sal has a friend named Phoebe Winterbottom who has problems in her life with a lunatic and her missing mom. Sal tells this story to her grandparents as they take their long trip back to Lewiston, Idaho. What will the story hold? Read to find out!
Rating: Summary: Walk Two Moons Review: Walk Two Moons was a VERY good book! Most other books don't have 2 stories in one. It told Sal's story as she told Phoebe's. Throughout the book, while telling Phoebe's story, her own story came out. Sal and her grandparents were in the car, driving to Lewiston where Sal's mother died. Sal desperately missed her mom, and finally understood why it happened, and learned to except it. I recommend reading this book.
Rating: Summary: One of my favorite books!!!!!! Review: Walk Two Moons is one of the greatest books I have ever read! Not only does it have a great story, but it is perfectly written to keep you tottaly attached to the book until the end.
Rating: Summary: A Good Book Review: One of a kind, for girls who like girl stories. A book for girls who know what it's like to think someone likes you, who have a friend who is a little strange.
Rating: Summary: Can't stop reading it!! Review: I had to read this book for school and I loved it! The story goes very close to any girl within the ages 8 until they die. My mom read this book with me and we both cried at the end and we both laughed during the book. This book is a mother daughter book. This girl, Sal, her mother left her and her father just for a "little while" but it turns out forever. Durin this book Sal is on her way to where her mother went to see her again with her goofy grandmom and grandpop. The grandparents are so full of life and really make the book funny. During this rodetrip Sal tells her granpartents a story about her friend Phoebe. She goes through Phoebe's lunitic, missing mom, crazy messages, and more. This is so touching and adveturous at the same time. Once you pick this book up you won't want to put it down. This book will teach you so many things in life and will you take those things back with you. I don't think anyone will not take anything back with them.
Rating: Summary: GREAT Review: I had to read a Newbery-award winning book for a project last year in school. I had already read Sharon Creech's The Wanderer, so I chose Walk Two Moons. I started reading it and couldn't stop! It was so great. The task in my project was to decide if it was a good choice for the Newbery Medal. I said it was. It was better than a Newbery Medal, and I think that it should win something more than that!
