Rating: Summary: Favorite Book Ever Review: Sharon Creech has to be a very talented lady to be able to produce such a masterpiece as this. I've read it countless times and I still cry...amazing but true. If you pass this book up you are making a grave mistake.
Rating: Summary: Simply Genius! Review: Just think about the meaning of the book when you are finished reading it. Seriously, I started cryting when I finished it. I thought to myself for a little while to understand the meaning and then it hit me. It was so precious and precise and real that you would start crying too. It has a really deep meaning that no one shouldn't understand. Everyone should read this book. Thank-you.
Rating: Summary: A wonderFULL reading experience Review: This book is great for any child to read. It is simple yet beautifully written, thereby making it extremely entertaining. At the end, I realized that I just went on the same journey with these people, you get that close to them and their thoughts. I have read every single Newbery-winning books and, although this one wouldn't be on the first tier, it's at teh top of the second.
Rating: Summary: A very satisfying read which stayed with me Review: This is the first of Sharon Creech's novels I have read but I hope not the last. Walk Two Moons is immensley satisfying on many counts. There is mystery, humour and sadness. The characters are real although rather quirky in some cases (endearingly so in the case of Sal's grandparents). The plot is ambitious but succeeds in moving along briskly and coming together in a very cohesive way as Sal grows in her understanding of the feelings and motivations of others . Phoebe's story maybe a little predictable but the climax of Sal's own story comes as a shock. This is a story that stayed with me long after I put it down and I know I will read it again.
Rating: Summary: A great book Review: Walk two moons is a book about a girl that travels with her grand parents to Idaho to visit her mother. While she is traveling she tells her grandparents of a weird experience in ohio with a friend. Mean while she is dreaming back to the days when her mother lived with her in Idaho.
Rating: Summary: An exceptionally good book by a children's author Review: This book shows how much a young girls life can change when she loses a parent. Sharon Creech cleverly sets it on a drive with her grandparents, so you can learn more about Sal's life. Phoebe, the paranoid neighbor who befriends Sal helps Sal cope with her father, and theeir moving from their farm. Sharon creech did a wonderful job.IF YOU ARE FROM JOHN BURROUGHS SCHOOL READING THIS REVIEW, YOU SHOULD READ IT.
Rating: Summary: Searching for the truth this story unveils a moving reality Review: Page after page you want more, you must know, you too walk the trail. Where it leads is not what you expect as you fall in love with the characters and authors style. This book leaves you wanting more! By far my favorite of the Newbery winners.
Rating: Summary: Parents--this is a MUST read! Review: I had avoided this book because I wasn't into "Indian" literature, then I took a class that had it as required reading. Boy, was I wrong about putting this one off! I could not put it down! I spent an entire rainy afternoon engrossed in this story, and used a full box of tissue to boot! I had students read it this year in literature circles. The boys thought it was okay; the girls loved it as much as I did. Be sure to read Creech's other books as the characters do a cross-over, but maintain their own seperate stories as well. I bought a copy to keep on my library shelf at home and multiple copies for my clssroom library.
Rating: Summary: It was THE BEST book I've ever read Review: It's a really great book! It's my absolute favorite book. I've read it 5 times!
Rating: Summary: Almost too good to be true. Review: This book was great. A girl traveled with her grandparents, telling them stories about people she had met, one in particular. Off to visit her mother, she discovered many things about herself and others. Her family was different, yet it seemed great. This is a book for all the readers who like a little of everything, and can never put down a book. This book has romance, comedy, mordern fiction, and lots more. Read it for a great surprise!
