Summary: A great experiance to read.
Review: Walk Two Moons written by Sharon Creek is an extraordinary book for ages 10 and up. The book centers around Salamanca Hiddle a thirteen-year-old from Bybanks, Kentucky, who faces problems while on a car trip to her new home in Idaho. She faces many challenges while living with her grandparents. The author, Sharon Creek brings her characters to life throughout the book. Sharon Creek gives her characters great personalities so you will always have mixed emotions. A great character she puts in is Salamanca's grandmother who listens to her granddaughter, and also has great stories to keep your attention focused. Also, Sharon Creek puts in Phoebe Winterbottom one of Salamanca's best friends who helps Salamanca through times when she is in Kentucky. Sharon Creek slowly brings you into the story, but she keeps you entertained with the events she puts in. She builds up the setting for you while in Kentucky and throughout their travel to Idaho, so you actually feel like you are in the story. Walk Two Moons is a wonderful piece of literature with great description. The story has a great plot, setting and remarkable characters. Once you pick up and start reading Walk Two Moons you will never want to put it down.

Summary: This book is a great read-aloud for upper elem students.
Review: As fourth and fifth grade teachers, we have read ths book to our students for several years. Every class has enjoyed the book immensely. This layered story teaches many literary elements that are useful throughout the school year as a reference point. It integrates with social studies and other subject areas. This story teaches the importance of relationships and appreciation for what you have. Today's students relate with Salamanca's and Phoebe's situations. An interesting aspect of this story is that students enjoy reading it the second time on their own, and as they do the story takes on new meaning for them. Read this book to your students. They will love it!

Summary: Marvelous story-within a story-within a story.
Review: Sal, the narrator, has a way of slowly revealing information in short, precise sentences that reveal all 3 stories in bursts as she and her grandparents travel cross-country. It is easy to identify with her characters. Her imagery of all the senses is delightful. This books appeals to both adults, especially those who work with children, and to school-age children. There are varying depths to each story.

Summary: This is the best book that I have ever read!
Review: This book showed me how good American literature can actually be!I always recommend it to friends who are looking for something good to read.Sal is a character who everyone can sympathize with. She posseses the courage and strength that the reader only wishes they had. The constant twists and turns in the plot kept me enthralled. I could not put this novel down! If I could choose what children read I would require them to read this book.I am so glad this superb masterpiece won the Newbery medal and I highly commend author Sharon Creech.

Summary: This book was sad but made you think and love the characters
Review: The ending was unexpected and though you never thought of it before, the best. The story of Pheobe intertwined with her own and the similarity you find in them is amazingly delecate and strung strongly together with absolutely no holes. This is the best kind of story there is, no doubt. You will definately love this.
