Rating: Summary: Riveting, emotional, and well worth the read! Review: My 8 year old was required to read this book for her academic team. I began to listen to her and was drawn to it immediately. I was so touched by the characters in this book, young and old, and how we can't really see life until we have walked in another's moccassins. Better than any adult literature I've read, and I'm a teacher of 15 years! Kudos++++++++++

Sharon Creech drops parables along the way about life, beyond what you might think a teenage mind may embrace, but as the story unfolds these treasurs are even more understood. "Doin't judge a man until you've walked two moons in his moccasins." "We never know the worth of water until the well is dry." This book is for everyone who enjoys reading about the meaning of life. The story does not truly unfold until the surprise is revealed in the very last chapter adding more meaning to all the pages befor it. Highly recommended. By: Max
Rating: Summary: Take a trip in someone eles shoes Review: Karen Berger November 24,2003 Walk two moons Sharon Creech 30201000070928 "Don't judge a man until you've walked two moons in his moccasins." Salamanca Tree Hiddle, also known as Sal is on a road trip to Idaho from Ohio, traveling with her grandparents and is in a hurry to get to Idaho in time for her mother's birthday. Along the way Sal tells her grandparents the story about an unusual friend of phoebe Winterbottom, who seems to be traveling down the same road as Sal . Phoebe and her family were receiving mysterious messages from a "potential lunatic" and then one-day phoebe's mother disappears. Sal didn't want anyone to know what happened to her own mother so she just didn't talk about it, not even to phoebe. Then when Phoebe's mother disappears Phoebe just told classmates that she had simply taken a trip. Along the way from Ohio to Idaho Sal's grandparents would stop the story and tell a story about a similar experience. When they stop at the ocean Sal's grandmother gets bitten by a snake and is taken to the hospital and released the next day. They continued along on their journey. The day before Sal's mothers birthday Sal's grandmother is not well and goes to the hospital. Sal takes the car to go see her mother on her birthday. Read the book to find out a surprise. This book is in the 1st person perspective witch is also a non-fiction narrative. I loved this book and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in a story with many twists and turns with a few surprises along the way. Kids ages 12 and up would really enjoy this book. This is a page turner book because the chapters weren't long and it was easy reading. I enjoyed this type of genre because I like non-fiction and narrative stories. I liked how the author told a story and behind that story of phoebe was the story of Sal's mom and you later realize behind that story is the story of Sal's grandparents. There were many surprises that kept me interested. The main surprise was also suspense when you didn't know exactly why Sal's mother will never come home. At the beginning of the book it just seems that Sal is going to go visit her mother and get her to come back home. At the end of the book all the suspense that kept me interested was finally revealed when I found out why she would never come home. Another surprise that turned to suspense was when Phoebe's mother disappeared and who the lunatic really was. This book is not boring; I highly suggest this book to anyone who wants to read a book filled with suspense and mystery.
Rating: Summary: The Story of the Past!! Review: Walk Two Moons is a book about a young teen-age girl Salamanca, "Tree" Hiddle or in short, Sal. She travels with her grandparents, Grams and Gramps, to find her mother who has mysteriously disappeared. This book keeps you in suspense! Sal tells her grandparents about her friend Phoebe and at the same time she also tells her own story. My two favorite parts in the book were: 1) when Sal's English teacher Mr. Birkway read aloud the personal journals of students in his class. While some students thought this was a bad idea, I as a reader, was able to discover how students felt about eachother. 2) when Sal and Phoebe discovered that Phoebe's mother was kissing the "lunatic". I won't tell you more, but keep on reading Walk Two Moons to find out what happened to Sal's and Phoebe's mothers. I recommend the book for ages 9 and up.
Rating: Summary: Walk Two Moons is a fab. book!!! Review: I've read this book a lot of times now but I still enjoy it everytime I read it. The story line is really interesting and Sharon Creech has added great writing to it as well. The characters have such outstanding personalities. This books gets a little sad towards the end and almost makes me cry! I also love the other books by Sharon Creech such as Chasing Redbird, Bloomability, Absolutely Normal Chaos etc. I really really recommend all these books especially Walk Two moons and I think these books would be of reading level for kids 9 and up.
Rating: Summary: This is a must read book! Review: Salamanca Tree Hiddle's journey to Lewiston Idaho to see her Mother is not just about a car trip. As she tells her friend Pheobes story to her Grandparents she seems to tell her story too. This truly inspiring story is worth buying! I won't tell the rest, but you won't be able to put it down!
Rating: Summary: Walk Two Moons-A must read Review: Walk Two Moons is a good book for kids 11-15. The main character, Sal Hiddle,is a girl that lived in Bybanks, Kentucky. She then moves to Euclid, Ohio with her father to escape the memory of a mother who has left. She left because she was not happy and she was searching for herself. In the book Sal takes a journey with her grandparents, to go to Lewiston, Idaho, to get there in time for Sal's mom's birthday. Sal tells Gram and Gramps the story of Phoebe,Sal's good friend, and her family. Sal tells them about the lunatic, Phoebe's mom leaving and everthing surrounding Phoebe. On the journey Sal enjoys her grandparents goofiness. In this book Sal deals with death, love, family and friends. My favorite part in the book was when Sal and Phoebe dealt with the mystery of the lunatic. It was my favorite because of they were thinking he was the one putting the notes on the porch. When they went to the police station to report her mother's disappearance, they get clues about the lunatic. These clues lead them to find out a very important connection between the lunatic and Phoebe's mother. I would recommened this book to anyone, because it is a book that deals with all parts of life.
