Summary: Humor, mixed with the reality of life, will intrigue you!
Review: In student teaching with 29 5th grade students, I was pleasantly surprised and fascinated at the reviews my students gave this book. The characters are well-defined, and the settings (a trip across the USA) coincide perfectly with New York State learning standards for social studies, which require in-depth study of US history/geography. Overall, a fantastic read for children who may be facing such hardships in their OWN lives. *Other Creech novels related: Absolutely Normal Chaos & Chasing Redbird.*

Summary: If you like funny novels then read Walk Two Moons
Review: "Walk Two Moons" is a very funny book. It will make you laugh unexpectedly. This book also has a twist to it, with many surprising parts. Sal is going to see her mother because she ran away. Sal wants to try and convince her mother to come back. Before that can happen she and her father move from Bybanks, Kentucky to Ohio. Sal meets a friend there named Phoebe, and they become very close.

One day when Sal was over Phoebe's house a "crazy lunatic" came to her house and asked for her mother. Phoebe, being paranoid, refused to let him in, thinking he had a knife in his sock. One day after that Phoebe's mother also disappeared.

Where have Sal and Phoebe's mother's gone? Will they ever come home? Read the book to find out

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: I loved this book and I couldn't put it down! The ending was so sad though, I almost cryed! It was interesting and quit an adventure. I hope there will be many more books my Sharon Creech soon! And I recommend CHASING REDBIRD to anyone that loved this book.

Summary: A girl weaves together 3 experiences to find her mother.
Review: This was one of the most cleverly constructed books I have ever read. By alternating stories of her life, Salamanca is at last able to accept the truth about her mother's dissapearence and face the fact that she can't always know what the people close to her are thinking.

Summary: This story touched my heart and is engraved on my soul.
Review: Sharon Creech's Walk Two Moons is the best book I have read in a long time. I am twenty years old and read this book for my Children's Literature Class. This book is powerful and awesome. Salamanca Tree Hiddle is a character that will remain in my memory for life. She is so realistic that I laughed when she laughed, and I cried when she cried. Read this book! You will be glad you did.

Summary: Unexpected twists and shocking conclusions
Review: Excellent book! a thirteen year old girl who goes to Lewiston , Idaho for her mother's birthday who left her and her father a year ago. Sal's only wish is to bring her mother back with her to Bybanks, Kentucky so her father can get away from the wild red headed Margret Cadaver. In Euclid, Ohio she meets Pheobe Winterbottom a very imaginative girl who thinks a lunatisc kidnapped her mother. It's an exquisite book that I have read again and again.

Summary: On a scale of one to ten, this book rates about 100,000,000!
Review: Salamanca Tree Hiddle is on a trip across the country with her grandparents. She has a secret mission- to find her mother, who disappeared last year and never returned- before her birthday, and somehow bring her home. This book is wonderful, beautifully written. At the same time that you are traveling across the country with Salamanca, you are also traveling into her own past by the stories she tells her grandparents to pass the time- of the paranoid Phoebe Winterbottom and her adventures with the potential lunatic, of Mrs Cadaver, of Ben, and of her mother. This book is really great. It has a super climax that is sad, yet satisfying. All in all, a wonderful book that I highly recomend.
