Summary: Walk away from this book
Review: I have never understood why so many people like the work of this author. She is sentimental, cloying, and seems to mistake idiocy for "eccentricity." This book is no exception. How on earth did it win the Newbery Medal?

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Flaws spoil what might have been a good book
Review: A Newbery Award usually signals a book whose characters are killed off by the author. I have been looking for books that might help restore a broken relationship between a troubled thirteen year old girl and her mother. Out of the Dust was one such book and I had high hopes for Walk Two Moons. My daughter likes intertwined plots and the early messages were ones I wanted her to hear. As the plot became transparent and the book became another tale of adult dishonesty, disappointment filled my heart. Another Newbery Award winner, I should have trusted my instincts. Those characters not killed off were relegated to mental institutions. My only ray of hope is that contrary to the experience of so many blind people I have met, I may yet emulate another character in the book and read Braille within a short time if I should lose my vision.

Summary: Walk two Moons!
Review: This is a wonderful story about a girl who's mother ran away and she is going to see her with her grandparents. In ech chapter you go back in time to when she moved from her farm to the suburbs. She makes friends with girls from school and starts to become suspicious about her next door neighbor. She is going with her grandparents to the place her mother was supposed to be. On the way there are some bumps in the road. Although the bumps in the road this is a must read for all ages.

Summary: An innocently captivating book
Review: Walk Two Moons was recommended to me by a trusted teacher. I had heard of it before, but never felt the impulse to read this wonderful book. Once did start reading it, though, I couldn't put it down! It captivated me! The story and its characters are endearing to readers who enjoy innocent mysteries and seemingly trivial dramas. This book simply tells the tale of a young girl and her journeys, but the way in which it is told mesmerizes the reader. I highly suggest reading this book. Walk Two Moons satisfies the part of every reader that demands an excellent book.

Summary: Huzza Huzza
Review: Walk Two Moons is a story of love and adventure. It was written by Sharon Creech and won the 1995 Newbery Medal. I laughed and cried when I read, but what I found out in the end just blew my breath away. Walk Two Moons is realistic fiction.

Salamanca a thirteen-year-old girl lives with father. She goes on a road trip with her grandparents to visit her mother who had left when Salamanca was young. They were driving to Lewiston, Idaho. In the car Salamanca tells a story about a girl named Phoebe and the adventures they had together, but little does she realize how they relate to her own story. On the way to Idaho something terrible happens to Salamanca's grandmother. Finally when Salamanca reaches Lewiston she goes to visit her mother, but what she finds isn't exactly her normal mother but something different.

I recommend Walk Two Moons to someone who likes books with adventure, mystery and sadness. When I was reading it I couldn't put it down. It made me think about life. At the end I cried for a while. Sharon Creech has a way with words and is a wonderful author. Walk Two Moons is a magnificent book.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: I am in 4th grade and I thought it was a great book. I liked the meaning of the story, and it taught me something. The title clearly made sense and is a good title.

Summary: Absolutely Lovely!
Review: Well, "Walk Two Moons" didn't win the 'Newbery' for nothing. Reading this book was like eating a lucious, triple layer truffle. Brilliant tasting, but one is not quite sure what's going to be inside the middle.

"Oh, I didn't expect an almond.!"

Salamanca is telling the story, well a few stories. She is driving with her quirky gram and grandpa through the Black Hills, Iowa, some beautiful country.
The reader will be inside that car, I will tell you that! While driving, Sal tells the story of Phoebe, her best friend. How their friendship and lives intertwine with one another. The story unfolds beautifully...until what's left is a fully bloomed rose.

I am not going to reveal the story, but the characters are superb and deeply thought out. There is a lot happening in all directions, and the reader is not sure where they are going to end up. 'How did I get here?' I like that!

Great messages, insight, descriptive writing, some first kisses, blood bonding. But the best part, the characters have flaws!! (Just like us)
Sharon Creech knows how smart young adults are and she does not underestimate them...

Loooved every bite of this delectable truffle... I even licked my fingers at the end!!!!

HUZZA, HUZZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
