Summary: This book stinks!
Review: If Salamanca cared so much about trees, then she wouldn't have allowed a bunch to be killed to produce this sorry book. Since we're on the subject of nature, let's just say that countless trees sacrificed their lives just so this awful story could be published. This book is one of the worst I've ever read- maybe EVEN the worst!

Summary: If you're 8 to 15, then read this!
Review: ... I read Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech and loved it. I'm a very picky reader and end up not liking most books, but I connected with Sal (the main character)as if she were right there. The book was so witty and heartwarming and always left me feeling happy after reading some. Sharon Creech is a wonderful writer! I couldn't put it down, because I could relate so much to Sal and it was just so interesting. It immediately became my favorite book. ... now after reading three of Sharon's wonderful books, Walk Two Moons still remains one of my favorites. Read this, and if you love it then read Absolutely Normal Chaos and Bloomability, also by Sharon Creech.

Summary: An amazing book!
Review: I'm 13 years old and I just finished reading "Walk Two Moons". I loved it!!! I thought that the story was so captivating that I just couldn't put the book down. My Mom heard plenty of "One more chapter!" comments and "Five more minutes!" pleas from me this past weekend. The author described each of the characters so well that I could picture each one of them in my head!!! Sal- intellegent, determined, poetic [even though her Valentine to Ben was far from genius]. Phoebe- very self-confident, picky eater, fussy, suspicious, and so on. I think that Sharon Creech is an excellent writer. I actually cried in the end when Grams died. This book was unpredictable, fun and I found the mysterious messages that were left on Pheobe's porch very inspirational. I also liked how everything fit together in the end of the book! In conclusion, "Walk Two Moons" was simply an amazing book!

Summary: A Disturbing Portayal of Women
Review: I am a graduate student preparing to become an elementary school teacher and found myself very disturbed by the portrayal of women in "Walk Two Moons", as well as the constant trauma that permeates this book. The main character's mother leaves her family behind after a miscarriage, followed by a deep depression which is glossed over in the book. The main character's best friend's mother also deserts her family as she goes to deal with the appearance of a son she had put up for adoption before her current marriage. And to add insult to injury, we find that the main character's grandmother went off on a three day affair with the "egg man" because the main character's grandfather was cursing too much. To finish off the list, another friend's mother is in a mental instution. There are no positive female role models in the book - something disturbing in itself. Add to that the never-ending stream of death and desertion and I can find little positive to recommend this book.

Summary: Remarkable!
Review: Walk Two Moons is a truly remarkable book. Sharon Creech managed to take at least three different stories (Sal's story, Phoebe's story, and Gram & Gramp's story) and beautifully weave them together in a way that really works -- it all just fits together so well! There are so many different layers to uncover in this book; not only is it a fun and entertaining story, but it contains lots of deep meaning. The characters in this book are delightful and endearing. There is humor as well as sadness, and lighthearted moments as well as very tender ones. It is entertaining as well as thought-provoking. There is an element of mystery and suspense that keeps you turning the pages. This is one that you won't want to put down. This book was well deserving of the Newbery Award, and I highly recommend it to readers of all ages.

Summary: Tear jerker and drama!
Review: When I first got this book, it was out of summer reading. I thought that it would be so boring. However, i had one drop of hope because all of sharon creech's books are amazing with morals in everyone of them. this one though, was the best i've read so far. Sal and her mother,Sal and Phoebe, Sal and Grams, all of those have stories, and in everyone i cried. Sometimes you are mad at a character, frightened, worried,so many things came out of this book. That is what makes it so great. I cried for 10 min. straight when i was at the end.

Summary: Wow
Review: Sharon Creech really outdid herself on this one. It starts with Sal, short for Salamanca Tree Hiddle, on a trip with her Grandparents. They're going from a town in Ohio all the way to Lewistown, Idaho. She is searching for her mother and behind that, her story. On the way, she tells her grandparents the story of her friend Phoebe, her dissappearing mother, and the lunatic. As the book goes on, her story and Phoebe's story unfolds, and as it does, so does an adventure that Sal will never forget.
