Rating: Summary: A Mysterious Heart-touching Fave. from Sara Review: I first read Walk Two Moons when I was 8 yeas old. Now I am 12 and since then I have read it about 13 more times. It has become my favorite book and Sharon Creech, my favorite author.Salamanca's mother has died. She moves with her father to a new neghborhood which isn't in the country anymore. It's a lot different from the farm she used to live on. She meets new people, is faced with new problems, goes to a new school along with her new house and neighborhood, and slowly starts changing because of her surroundings and new environment. SHe doesn't know exactly what happened to her mother so her grandparents take her on a trip to find out. They have to get to wherever they're going by her mother's birthday which doesn't leave them much time consideringg it's her grandparents incharge of the timing. But something happens to her grandmother on the roadtrip that might mean death for her. Sal's new friend, Pheobe, has been having family problems and strange messages from a lunatic. What will the world come to? :) Anways, this is probably the best book of all time, aside from the Harry Potter series. If you have already read this book, you might want to read a few other of Creech's novels like Absolutley Chaos.
Rating: Summary: GREAT!!!! Review: I thought her book was very very good. It was the 1st proper book I ever read and I was 12 when I read it. Her characters develop as the story goes on and it shows the ups and downs of life. I think it was her best book she has written and she is my favorite writer, and this book even mentions Pipestone where I live! Look on Chasing Redbird, Bloomability and The Wanderer for even more reviews. A MUST READ.
Rating: Summary: Definitely deserves more than 5 stars Review: WOW!! I have not been an avid reader of Sharon Creech's work until now. This book grabbed my heart from the beginning and held on tight even beyond the last page. As a mother of 7, I plan recommending it to my older kids and reading it to my younger ones. Looking forward to reading more of Sharon Creech's work and hope to have wonderful experiences as I did with Walk Two Moons.
Rating: Summary: About "Walk Two Moons" Review: The book "Walk Two Moons" was in my opinion, a very good book. It was written by Sharon Creech who has also written "Absolutely Normal Chaos". They involve the same characters but they're not sequels to one another. The book includes a quote; "Don't judge a man until you've walked two moons in his moccasins." It's very true and it relates to the book. It starts out with 13-year-old Salamanca Tree Hill travels with her grandparents from her hometown of Ohio to Idaho where her mother is supposedly living. She's searching for her mother and hopes to find her before or on her birthday, which is only a week away. Since her mother ran from their family, she believes that the only time she will come home is on her birthday. Along the way they come upon many obstacles. They make frequent stops to rest, little accidents happen and many other crazy adventures. Salamanca, also known as Sal, starts out the trip praying that they won't get in an accident because she is afraid of car trips, but this one is extremely important so she is willing to take it. Throughout the trip, she graces her grandparents with the long story of Phoebe Winterbottom, a friend back home. During the story, she mentions other little stories about her other friends and things that remind her of her mother but still relate to the story about Phoebe Winterbottom. The story about Phoebe Winterbottom reveals that Phoebe was faced with the problem of a "potential lunatic", receiving mysterious messages, and her mother going away. It's all connected in a very strange way. Beneath her story is Sal's story about her mother running away. Sal believes that the only chance for her family reuniting is getting her mother back home. All together, it's a very good and adventurous book and I highly recommend it.

Rating: Summary: A Journey for Everyone... Review: A Newbery Medal Winner Do not be mistaken, this is not just a book for "children". Sal's journey with her grandparents is symbolic of the journey we all take through life, regardless of age. The humor, wit, and ease of communication displayed throughout this book are captured freely by author Sharon Creech. The poignant ending will make you read it again... and buy copies for all those you know.
Rating: Summary: Well-written however hard to get into Review: As a huge fan of Sharon Creech's work, I was rather disapointed by this book. As well-written as it is, Creech failed to "loop-me-in" this time. I found myself uninterested in the plot and the character and eventually just had to stop reading all together. I would not reccommend this book. Not to say that you might not like it and it wasn't me, but the plot seemed dragging. Instead, I might read Creech's Bloomability or Absolutely Normal Chaos: two books where Creech really hits it right. Hope this was helpful! -Lia
