Rating: Summary: The Best Book! Review: Ok I must tell you that I am a teenager, but this is my favorite book in the series. Cause it talks about Sunny alot cause in all the series every book has a picture of 1 of the kids on the cover this is the only one so far with Sunny. I think you should buy this book, but I also think it's helpful to read the first book before the second (and so on). But please read the whole series and ask yourself which book was your favorite. Well hope this helped.
Rating: Summary: Uncle Monty to the Rescue! Review: Thank goodness Violet, Klaus and Sunny are finally going to have a happy home. Not really, this is a series of unfortunate events after all and the slapstick and sad events will have you rolling on the floor. This is a great book to read with your children...
Rating: Summary: The Best Book On Planet Earth Review: The Reptile Room is filled w/ adventure and mytsery. Count Olaf appears again and everyone hates him(of course). This is a superb, and when I say superb I mean superb.Though I urge you, this book doesn't have a happy ending so keep it stored out of the reach of children!
Rating: Summary: A Humorous Tale! Review: After their unfortunate meeting with Count Olaf, the Baudelaire orphans are off again to meet their new guardian. This time their guardian is Dr. Montgomery Montgomery (also called Uncle Monty). He a herpetologist ( a scientist who studies snakes). They love him very much and are excited about his trips and studies on his snakes. But then after his assistant has left an unexpected note of resignation, he has hired a new one. When his new assistant arrives, they found out that this so-called Stephano is really none other than Count Olaf. They are so terrified that even when they have seperate rooms they feel like they are in a prison. They try to find out Olaf's next plan of how to steal the Baudelaire fortune which is in the hands of Mr. Poe, a family friend. Uncle Monty has suspicions about Stephano and tears up Stephano's ship ticket to Peru. When Violet and Klaus inform this to Count Olaf, he replies to them saying that accidents can happen when best plans are made. What did Count Olaf mean about "accidents can happen even when best plans are made?" Will Violet, Klaus, and Sunny be able to reveal his plan and escape from him this time? Read this humorous and exciting book to find out!!
Rating: Summary: Too Much Bad Review: The Reptile Room The Reptile Room, the second in a wonderful book series by Lemony Snicket, is about how good things can come out of bad things through the misfortunes of three children: Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire. A terrible fire that also burned everything in the house suddenly orphaned them. In the first book, an evil madman who tries to steal their inheritance supervises the children. In this book the man comes back and tries again to steal the Baudelaire fortune while the children live with a nice relative named Montgomery Montgomery. Sunny was a likeable character because she always said something funny and loves to bite things. Violet was a likeable character because she loves to invent things and isn't predictable. Dr. Montgomery was also a likeable character because he gives the kids a break after the events of the first book. I did not like Klaus because he was so boring. Count Olaf was a likeable character because he is always so mysterious. The theme is probably "good things come out of bad things." The fact that Count Olaf comes back and does bad things instead of good things is what I liked best. I least liked Mr. Poe coming back because of his boringness. I liked the end because it didn't have that happily ever after ending. The author gives plenty of details and most of the time, keeps the reader interested. The vocabulary is pretty moderate because the author explains what some of words mean. I am not very satisfied with the way the way the book is written because he put irrelevant things in the book. The book would probably appeal to children ages 8 and up based on the fact that the vocabulary is not very hard, and the book is relatively short. I recommend The Reptile Room because it keeps the reader interested. PT
Rating: Summary: A great book for 9 and older. Review: I read this book over and over again. The reason why is because I loved it. It's really a good book for 9-14 years of age. You have to get in all the other series to love it or you won't know what happened. There's a lot of parts where you want to put the book down and do whatever you have to do but you just can't, and just want to know what is going to happen next. I give this book a high score.
Rating: Summary: The series is growing... Review: This series I can tell is going to prosper with many kids growing and loving it. If you have a kid in elementary school then they should read it because it is really easy and teaches new vocabulary words in a good way. This book is about 3 heroic orphans getting through their troubles with switching around with family members ever since there parents died. In the first book they end up in a horrible place with their horrible uncle, Count Olaf. Luckily they get away since he was trying to steal their fortune which they have in the bank and can't have until the eldest daughter is of age. They have now gone and stayed at a very distant relative who wants to call him Uncle Monty. They thought that the trouble would end but were they wrong, Uncle Monty is okay, but his new assistant... Note: Read the first book FIRST!
Rating: Summary: Olaf a minute Review: I bought the book because of the cover... but I'm thrilled with the content. The language of "The Reptile Room" is beguiling, the characters, (and their names), pure mirthful pleasure. Both my 7 and 5 year old are as enchanted as I am by the lagubrious misery of the whole tale, from tribulation to triumph. Girls and boys come out to play. Lemony Snicket has perfect pitch.
Rating: Summary: Better Than the First Review: This book was better than The Bd Beginning. I like the reptiles. Uncle Monty is cool too. He's one of the nicer gaurdians. This book is one the best in the series, but not my favorite.
