Summary: Can the poor orphans have happiness?
Review: This continues the entertaining witty story of the four Baudelaire orphans. In this book the three children are sent off to live with there Uncle Monty. When they first meet him they're surprised to find that he's a plesent person. Do Sunny Violet and Klaus have a chance of happiness? Will they escape the evil clutches of Count Oalf?

Don't count on it.

This book was just as entertaining, funny, and enjoyable as the first one in the series. I recomend reading this book to anyone who's a fan of the series. I can't wait to read the next one (I'm part-way through it already)

Summary: Great fun!
Review: I think most children's books have depressing subject-matter. These are the only ones to just state that fact openly. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Wizard of Oz are both generally depressing. But the Snickett books have a sophisticated sense of humor that adults will appreciate as well. I have read all five and think they can be enjoyed by people of any age.

Summary: The Best of the Series so far
Review: More woe for the Baudelaire orphans. Uncle Monty's a dear (and he's got snakes!) but doomed caretaker. The orphans seem their happiest here; Klaus has a library full of books, Violet can invent snake traps and Sunny can play with the viper. My sons, ages 8 and 12, really like these books.

Summary: Even MORE ENJOYABLE than the Harry Potter series!
Review: Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the Harry Potter Books, but these books just go above and beyond everything that makes a book fun to read, enjoyable, and of high quality. This book is about the three orphans Sunny, Klaus, and Violet, when they go to live with their Uncle Monty (full name Montgomery Montgomery). When a new servant (Stephano) comes to the house, he seems familiar, to familiar.... This book is slightly better than the first book (A Bad Beginning), and Lemony Snickett never fails to impress! Keep up the good work, Lemony!

Summary: A satisfying second round
Review: Continuing in the Goreyesque manner of the first book, The Reptile Room delivers the delightfully miserable story of our three heros. A smart, and sly narrative keeps this one a page-turner, and the author's almost non sequitur mentality raise this book (and series)high above the dull, run of the mill, "kiddie-adventures". As with the first, charming illustrations head the chapters, and the narrators devilish tone helps keep the humor of the situation ever present. I look forward to the third entry in the series. Highly recommended!

Summary: It just gets better and better!
Review: The Reptile Room is in the same format as The Bad Beginning, which is to say, it's excellent!! I love both of these books and am eagerly awaiting The Wide Window, the 3rd book in this series. Keep up the good work Mr. Snicket!!

Summary: The Reptile Room
Review: I thought that The Reptile Room was one of the happiest ones in the series. They are sent to live with a herpetologist named Dr. Montgomery Montgomery. Count Olaof appeared, causing unhappiness in their lives and tried to get the Baudelaire fortune.

Summary: The BEST in the series
Review: After reading this whole series, I discovered that the reptile room is the most unique book out of all ten published so far!
The reason for this simply being, that Uncle Monty is the only guardian they like and that they enjoy being with.

This book is such an interesting read, some may call it 'unputdownable'. It begins with them travelling along a dreadfully smelly road, but soon their spirits lighten up once they see their uncle monty, the snakes in the reptile room and the fact they all had their own rooms !

Violet feels right at home designing and ttesting traps for the snakes the planned to catch on their expedition to Peru, Klaus certainly enjoyed all the reserching and the library, and Sunny became the best of friends with the deadly viper, which of course was a mis-nomer which when you read it you will understand.

Everything is fine until their life is ruined - AGAIN, by the treacherous Count Olaf, but no one can beat the baudlaire kids, so pick this book up and prepare for yet another great book by lemony Snicket and all in all enjoy reading about the mamba du mal to Count olafs unbelievable disguise.

So don't miss out on this fabulous book, you'll be glad you bought it!
