Summary: Everyone has to read this book!
Review: This is the best book I've ever read. It contains all aspects of other literature, at least in my opinion. As a freshman in high school, i've read an eccentric collection of books. Catcher in the Rye contains a little bit of all these, from Anthony Burgess' "A Clockwork Orange," with the whole rebellious adolescent human nature stuff, Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness," also dealing with the human nature, hence the title "heart of darkness." THere's also a hint here and there of "Atlas Shrugged," i believe, which i'm not quite done with yet. I am Holden Caulfield. Everything Salinger wrote about this character i could relate to, either in my life personally, or in someone elses, and THAT is what makes a book. It's the only book i will read over and over and over and STILL catch a little something that i didn't notice previously that makes it even more interesting. THis book is supposedly trying to be banned from schools, but i think it's the best book to read as an adolescent. It's thought provoking, and really changes your perspective on things. ALl in all, It's the best book I've ever read and one that everyone needs to read at some point in their life. An american Classic!!!

Summary: goddam!
Review: this is the best book i've read. the main character holden caulfield relates to every teenager in the world. no one could ever portray someone as well as J.D. Salinger. I actually fell in love with holden while i was reading this book. you can't read this a little at a time though. you have to read it all at once. my favorite part is where he's talking about Jesus and the disciples. Just the way he talks makes the book enjoyable. I'm in love with Holden Caulfield!

Summary: Showing that its a great book i would like to say.......
Review: This is the best, most influential book i have ever read. This is the book that got me interested in reading (in general). Now the only Salanger book i have yet to read is (Seymore : Raise High the roof Beam, an introduction.) I recomend people buy all his books. They just keep getting better as you read them.

Summary: Read the goddamn book and all
Review: This is the book that created a new generation. J.D.Salinger realistically portrayed the protagonist Holden Caulfield, who absolutely despises phoniness and becomes initiated as he travels in New York City. The use of the goddamn language is totally brilliant and all, simple yet powerful. If you havent't read this book, read it. If you have, read it again, and again

Review: This is the book that everybody should read....and it is considered to be a classic book, no doubt about that!! The plot of the story happens in every lives and to every person. Meet phony people, undecided mind, but want the bright future!! Also this story reflects the "American dream" to other foreign readers like me....

Summary: Not another boring classic
Review: This is the first book assigned to me for school that I actually liked. After being forced to read dreadfully boring books like Jane Eyre, The Once and Future King, the Odyessy, and then some, I went in to this book with the mind set that it was going to just be another boring classic. It wasn't though. It was great. I laughed out loud at some of the things Holden said; I'm sure if it was supposed to be funny though. He was just so random. It was great. It was so cute how he was always putting on his red hunting hat and asking everyone where the all ducks went when the lake froze. Aside from the comic aspects of the book, Holden was clearly a depressed invidual. Even though he flunked out of Pency, the school he was going to, it was obvious that he was really smart; otherwise he wouldn't have noticed all the little things that bother him so much causing him to be depressed. I recommend this book to everyone. It's easy to read and very interesting. I loved it.

Summary: EUGENIO'S VIEW
Review: This is the first time in my life I have read this book. It is pretty amazing and interesting. It is a book in which I can relate to it, as well as thousands of other people in one way or the other if you read the book. It is about Holden Caulfield, a sixteen year old, who feels insecure and is different from others through his character and personality, so he has a difficult time fitting with others. Readers can watch and feel how he thinks mentally, and shows how difficult Holden's character can be. If you think this was the worst book you have ever read, you did not get the real meaning of the book.

Summary: Yep, that's real alright.
Review: This is the most accurate, precise depiction of adolescence. Perhaps if this book has something wrong with it, it's that it's too real. Not much amazing stuff seems to happen in real life, and the same goes for what happens in this book. After a while, Holden's cynical, often hilarious observations get a bit old.

Summary: Moving
Review: This is the moving story of a boy who journeys from his school (where he didn't do so good) to NYC (New York City). All the wile, he talks about how much phonyness there is in the world. I won't give away the end, but it is awesome. VERY CLASSIC BOOK!!!

Summary: Every High School English Must
Review: This is the only book I was glad I read in high school. Everyone especialy in this decade can relate to the main charater in this book. The best thing about it is it isnt a normal edited parental aproved book. J.D, Salinger writes as a normal kid would talk not like an english professor's kid would talk.
