Summary: A True, American Classic!
Review: This is a GREAT book about adolescent alienation in the modern, capitalist world.

The main character, Holden Caulfield, and the story itself, go deeper and deeper, and deeper as the story progresses, and finally leads to Holden's final, startling revelation. Along the way, Holden's soulful, pinched, inner life is revealed as it attempts to find moments of respite in the actual world ... the effect is that of one long, beautiful, shocking tone-poem, up until Holden's secret is revealed ...

This is a fabulous book, and I highly recommend it to everybody.

Summary: TERRIFIC BOOK
Review: this is a great book, such a great book in fact, that after reading it, i find it hard to find books i like, its hard to find books that are even close to as good as Catcher. so, all i wanna read is books from JD Salinger, then i find that there arent that many in publication. and i just wanna go and track down all of the "bootlegs". there are so many reactions to this book that are posted, and im not sure if this will be read, but if it is, and if anybody has any ideas on where i can get any of his unpublished works, then please email me. thanks

Summary: Give it a chance
Review: This is a great book. I am captivated and can't put it down. For those who reviewed it and called it boring, they need to understand that it is strictly a view of a character, not an actual story with a plot. they're true, but that's one of the reasons you'll love it, because it's so unique. Give it a chance, you won't be dissappointed.

Summary: DUDE
Review: This is a great book. It really relates to real life. I can't see why anyone would want to ban this really cool book, but that is just my opinion.
