Summary: Very realistic!
Review: As a teacher of students who have seen their share of abuse, the devotion of Gerold to his sister touched me. I have seen may children stick by their siblings and mothers during times of abuse. It was good to see the role of Mr. Washington. So many people don't want to get involved. I thought this was a very realistic book and had a hard time putting it down.

Summary: A Book With No Main Focus
Review: Hi, I read this book for a library thing, and I thought is was pretty pointless. I don't know if the other people that wrote these reviews read the same book that I did....There was totally no point to this book, and first it was about his mom, then his Aunt, then his sister, then basketball, then he loses a friend, but it didn't really tie together. For me it was sort of a waste of time.

Summary: This is the best book I have ever read!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: "Forged By Fire"

By: S, Draper

In Forged By Fire follows the life of a boy from being three years old to seventeen years old. It is all about how his stepfather beats him. The story takes place in Cincinnati. The characters are Gerald, Aunt Queen, Mama, Jordan, and Angle. First, Mama, is the mother of Gerald and she takes drugs and sometimes is mean. Then there is Gerald who is a nice kid that doesn't do anything wrong. Next is Aunt Queen; she is the aunt of Gerald and the sister of Mama. She is very nice and caring for Gerald. Jordan is the stepfather who is always mean and drunk who doesn't care about anything at all. Angle is Gerald's stepsister, and she loves Gerald a lot. In this book there are lots of problems for Gerald, and Angle. Everything goes bad for Gerald. It all started when Gerald was three years old. His mom went out to get some drugs. So he found a lighter and was playing with it. Gerald ended up making a fire in the house. Then the next day Gerald woke up in a hospital, and his mom was put into jail. So Gerald had to live with his Aunt Queen. Then one day it was Gerald's birthday and Aunt Queen had a surprise for him. It was his mom who was out of jail and she had someone with her........................ The author S. Draper has a great way of telling real life problems. You can picture this story in your mind. Also you can feel how sad, and hopeless these two kids feel. Forged By Fire is a good book for teens and adults. By reading this great book you feel as if you are there watching what is happening. I recommend this book to anyone who doesn't like to read long books, and to anyone who likes to understand what is happening. In this book you never get confused. Also it is hard to believe but you can enjoy reading Forged By Fire!!!!!!!!!

Summary: A great book about child neglect
Review: This book is recommend to a person who loves reading the kind of books that deal with child abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect. I love reading books that have a serious topic. These stuff is happening in the world and I really think teens these days need that kind of advice. They also need a role model to look up on, because some kids don't have there parents to take advice so that kind of book is perfect for any one who needs advice or who just want to read it. God Bless You!

Summary: When Gerald has had enough abuse it's time to make a change
Review: I loved this book because it appeals to teens, especially ones in that situation. It reaLly shows what Angel and Gerald are going through. Just so that you know this is a mature subject and that's one of the reasons I liked it. It made the book real. It is a good way to show kids in that kind of situation that there is hope. You can turn a bad situation into a good one. It was hard to hear some of the stuff that the kids went through. It gave them hope to take abuse seriously. If you are looking for a good but serious book here it is. This is the best book I have ever read. READ THIS!

Summary: THIS BOOK IS VERY REALISTIC!
Review: Like I said this book is good. It helps teenagers cope with problems they may be having. A lot of kids think they're the only ones who could have problems and if they tell someone, they'll end up getting hurt. But that's not true. People want to help you. You just have to find someone you trust like the charcters in this great book. I recommend this book to anyone who likes action. And by the way this is the best book I've read yet !!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is a realistic book!!!!
Review: I like this book because it is so real, the abuse, the fire, and how Gerald acted seemed so realistic. I like how Gerald stood up for his sister. I like how he protected Angel and didn't let her out of his sight. I would recommend it for other kids and adults to read.

Summary: Forged by Fire was entertaining and all teens should read it
Review: Fire and desire is what it took for Gerald to overcome his obstacles. Forged by Fire relates to young teens through its dramatic events. It contains realistic events that deal with present problems like child abuse, substance abuse, and death. It is the companion novel to Draper's award winning novel, Tears of a Tiger.

Summary: Forged by a fire is about a boy named Gerald who gets abused
Review: Forged By Fire

Forged by Fire by Sharon M. Draper is about a boy by the name of Gerald who was abandoned by his mother, Monique, at the age of three. He was later adopted by his Auntie. They faced a major tragedy when their house was engulfed by fire.

This book had a good pace, everything seemed to go steady . The book also had descriptive details and interesting characters. It described the way the people felt and acted. It sometimes felt as if I was in the book. Overall Forged by Fire is a good book that did not just focus on style, but also focused on description and action.

The main character of this story is Gerald, who is the brother that protects his sister, Angel. Angel is Gerald’s younger sister who is abused by her father and she is always sick because of it. Monique is Gerald and Angel’s mother, who is also abused by her husband, Jordan, and she does not do anything about it. Jordan is very abusive because he hits on everyone and he tries to molest Angel.

In the conclusion the problem is solved when Jordan is killed and everyone is happy. Forged by Fire is a very good book, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes heart-felt novels.
