Rating: Summary: Forged by Fire review Review: "Forged by Fire" is a great life battle between a abusive stepfather and a drug addictive mother. It's about a young man named Gerald who has to deal with taking care of his mother, his little sister Angel, and protecting them from their stepfather Jordan. He is an example of a hard working person fighting life's struggles.
Rating: Summary: My Review! Review: Sharon M. Draper did it agian with her outstanding work. Forged By Fire, a sequel to Tears of a Tiger. Sharon uses the same technique, wonderful. I competely understand when she talks about how Gerald is abandoned and abused. This book really changed my way of thought about abuse and sorrow. I highly recommend this book to young teens who feel as though they have connection with this sort of situation.
Rating: Summary: Foged By Fire Review: Forged By Fires was my first time reading a book by Sharon M. Draper and it definitely made a good impression. It starts at an apartment where 3-year-old Gerald (who was abused by his mother) was playing with a lighter for entertainment. Even with that little flicker of fire, it resolves into a smoke filled room with firefighters coming to save him. Since his mother was sent to prison he is sent to his aunts where he experiences joy and sorrow. When his aunt dies he is moved back to his mother where he finds Angel, his loving half sister and Jordan Sparks, his cruel stepfather where he has to go against him once and for all. I personally think the purpose of the book was to explain abuse and how children can feel and react to it.
Rating: Summary: Forged by Fire Reviewed By: Alethia Housman Review: This book is about a boy named Gerald and his little half sister Angel. Gerald is taken away from his mother when a fire engulfed his house in flames. He is taken in by his Aunt Queen who does the best she can to raise him. For six wonderful years Gerald and his Aunt are very happy. Then Monique, Gerald's mother, decides to show up with her husband, Jordan Sparks, and her daughter, Angel Sparks. It was Gerald's birthday and all he knew was that he was going to see his mom again. What happens next changes Gerald's life and living arrangements. Gerald's Aunt Queen dies from a heart attack. He is forced to move in with his mother. He finds out that his step father is hurting Angel. Gerald decides that he needs to take control and retaliate. He tries to make sure that Jordan Sparks never hurts his little half sister Angel again. This book is very touching, and moving. I think that this book is very realistic. Some of the things in the book are very serious. This book is a very good book, and it is very hard to put down. It will always have u at the edge of your seat, and gets you anxious to see what is going to happen next. If I could it by stars one star being the worst and five stars being the best I would rate it six stars because it is a very good book. It almost brings you to tears.
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: Forged by Fire is a great story about a young black man name Gerald who struggles to keep his younger sister Angel and himself safe from their abusive step-father, the step-father Jordan attempts to molest Angel multiple times throughout the story. The plot is greatly done, the story never has a dull spot where the plot seems to go absolutely nowhere. Forged By Fire takes many unexpected twists and turns, he finds that the bond between him and his sister is all they needed to get throught their troubles. In the end it all turns out well, even though both Angel and Gerald wind up hurt in the end they are free from Jordan's abuse and can live a happy live. Overall I found this book to be very enjoyable and would suggest any teens would probably benifit from reading this, it will show you that even though you may have problems in your life and that you think you cant overcome them, you can. Nothing is impossible, even if it seems like there is no possible way for there to be a happy ending, there is.

Rating: Summary: best book i ever read Review: I think that this book was one of the best books I ever read. The reason I think this book is really good is because it delt with real life tragtey, it delt with a lot of stuff that some kids my age shouldent even have to think about dealing with. I think that this book was sad but in the end it kinda worked out. Icant tell you much about the book right now because I would love for you to read it, but i can tell that the story maches the title perfectly check out all the other books by this fabolus author [Sharon Draper] and come back and wrie a review just like me! -salaria
Rating: Summary: chris review Review: If you were 2 yeares old were would you be at right now... well Gerald from the forged by fire would proulblly be behimd the couch sucking his thumb because he lives in fear. The book forged by fire by sharon m. drapper is about a young boy named Gerald who has a gigantic imagination lives with his mom who is a drug attic and he doesn't seem how to escape it.This fiction is very suprising and it tells you so much that you only half to read ten pages. This book takes place in Gerald's mind and other houses. The plot of this book is that Gerald plays with his mom's lighter and uses it for G.I. Joe and then acceldently sets the house on fire and lives with his auntt but then he goes back to his moms and Gerald finds some thing out really bad. This book has alot of conflicts in the story by mistakes an problems people have been having. The conflict for Gerald is that he has a hard time standing up for him self because of the consaqences.Gerald has a lot of charecteristics with his aunt one of them is that they deeply love each other and that they have funb together and notice that he dosen't do it with his mom.The theme of this book is that you should stand up and don't keep your feeling's inside because it will hurt you more. Each day there are great ways to live your life, live it your way.
Rating: Summary: Sharon Draper wrtites a good one! Review: At the age of three, Gerald was abused by his drug attic mother. Luckily his loving aunt took him in her arms. While away, Gerlads mother met another man, Jordan, and had another child named Angel. When Gerald was nine, his aunt died which forced him to move back into his abusive home, this time with a younger half sister. When Gerald became a teenager and was in high school, he learned how to deal with the abuse by staying out of the house, working and being active in sports. However, when the abuse by Jordan involved his younger sister, Angel, he could no longer ignore it. Gerald learned how to stand up for his sister as well as himself. I could not put this book down. I am sure many young teenagers see this happen to their friends or can relate to this book. It is a great book!
