Summary: They're good books, but...
Review: I've read the first two books in this series too. They're funny and well written, but i don't think i'm going to read any more in the series, because they're basically all the same. Count Olaf shows up in some disguise, tries to get rid of the kids, who know its Count Olaf but no one believes them. In the end, it is Count Olaf and the kids lose everything but their lives, and the adults realize that they should have listened to the kids. But of course, in the next book they fall for it again. If you don't mind that sort of thing you should read them all, but if reapeting plots bug you, you should only read one book in this series to get the whole idea.

Summary: The Bauldelaires go through another bad time.
Review: In this next book named the Wide Window the Bauldelaires go to their new house. They live in a new house on a very, very, very, steep hill close to Damocles Dock. Their new gaurdian is Aunt Josephine and they are going to have one very bad time with her. This book is very fun to read and please do read it. If you do read it please come back to my review and pick if my review was helpful or not. I'm sure that once you read it you will believe me to.P.S. If you don't like really sad books then don't read it.

Summary: Beautifully Packaged but......
Review: Beautifully packaged but content that's fluff. Even a 10 year old and upwards knows the lens of a spyglass focused on the light of the moon does not make fire. I think Lemony Snicket and HarperCollins should to. I don't believe my daughter will be asking for Book 4

Summary: Excellent book!
Review: The Wide Window is one of my favorite books in the Series of Unfortuate Events. In this book, the Baudelaires - Violet, 14, Klaus, 12, and Sunny (still an infant) go to Lake Lachrymose (right next to Damocles Dock) and live with their Aunt Josephine. She's scared of just about everything in her house (including the telephone!!) Although Aunt Josephine is scared of just about every thing, (including the lake which her house is about to fall into due to the fact that it is on the edge of a cliff) she loves grammar! Klaus becomes excited because Aunt Josephine has a huge library but he finds out that the only books she has are about grammar. Aunt Josephine practically starves them to death because the only thing she feeds them is cold cucumber soup. But before things get settled, Count Olaf is back and this time he is Captain Sham who is in charge of Captain Sham's Sailboats. After a while, Hurricane Herman comes to Lake Lachrymose. When the Baudelaires hear a crash, they run to the library and see a broken window. They suspect that Aunt Josephine has commited suicide. She does leave them a note that says that they will be adopted by Captain Sham! They can't believe it!!! Then Klaus realizes that there is something wrong with the letter and that is when is gets good! I won't say anymore - I might spoil the rest for you. Happy Reading!

Summary: Books are wonderful but bring back Tim Curry as narrator!
Review: My 9 year old son has loved all the books and the rest of the family (including a 7 year old) has thoroughly enjoyed the audiotapes. But I'm very disappointed in the quality of the recordings done by Lemony Snicket. Tim Curry narrated the first two books and was absolutely delightful! Lemony Snicket's performance leaves much to be desired - monotone voice, inconsistent sound levels - overall very boring. He should stick to writing and leave the performing to others. I'm surprised that Harper Audio would have allowed him to record the stories, given the poor job he does.

Summary: I love Lemony Snicket
Review: This book is fabulous! The woeful lives of the Baudelaire orphans worsens when Mr.Poe, the man in charge of finding their guardians, puts them in the household of their Aunt Joshephine, who really isn't their aunt, but she is a distant relative. Their Aunt Joshephine is so paranoid, she will not touch the doorknob, turn on the stove, or step on the welcome mat. She is also fanatical about grammer. She never makes any gramatical mistake. Evil Count Olaf, who wants their enornmous fortune, is disgused as a sailboat seller . When Aunt Joshephine "disapears", they are put almost put into the care of Count Olaf. Egad, what am I saying! I am revealing the plot. Just buy this book. It is a bit pricey, but it is well worth it!!! It is witty and humorous. I also own the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th. I eagerly await the 8th book.

Summary: I love these books!
Review: This is a genuinely good book. You may not like the idea of three children who have nothing but bad luck all their lives, but man! This is one of the funniest series of books I've ever read! Book three is no exception. Count Olaf comes back to get the orphans, and, once again, nobody believes them, so they must go after him theirselves. The three unfortunate siblings are also faced with the Lachrymose leaches, their paranoid aunt Josephine, and chilled lime soup for dinner every evening, because their aunt is too afraid to turn on the stove. If you want to read this series, I'd suggest starting with Book 1, and then moving on, but, if you've already read book one, congratulations! You'll love this one! So read up and read on!

Summary: Read it in a Day, couldn't put it down for anything at all!
Review: This book is totally awesome! I personally couldn't put it down for anything at all, even though I was in Lake Powell at the time and there is so much to see there, I couldn't get my nose out of the book. With Olaf pretending to be a boatsales man the Baudlaires could tell anyway that he was Olaf and tried to tell Mr. Poe but he didn't believe them for a second. Also with Aunt Josephine trying to kill herself by jumping out the window into a lake. To tell you more would ruin Snicket's purpose for writting it. It is one of Snicket's best novels and if you have read the first two you are bound to like this one. Get your hands on it as soon as possible! You'll love it!

Summary: Skip this audiobook
Review: The first two books are read by Tim Curry. He does a great job and does all the voices and some 'sound effects'. Lemony Snicket reads the rest of the series. He writes a good book but his performance is flat. Hopefully, Harpers will bring back Tim Curry. Or maybe Jim Dale to read. Until then, I hold out for better readers.

Summary: Can It Get Any Worse?!
Review: The poor Baudelaire orphans. After the tragic demise of their Uncle Monty in "The Reptile Room" the hapless trio are sent to live with their Aunt Josephine; A woman terrified of everything except grammer which she loves! It isn't long before a familiar villan shows up to cause more mayhem for Violet, Klaus, and Sunny.Darker and quite a bit more wicked than the preceding books, it's still very funny and alot of fun to read.
