Summary: A great conclusion
Review: This was a great conclusion to the series! I had been waiting for what seemed like years for this to come out and when I saw it on the shelf...Well, it was just great not to be dissapointed! Read this book! It pulls you in; I had to stop doing my homework to read it. As always, Lirael et al pull through and save the world. Worthy of your time, even if you DO have work to do!

Summary: Somewhat disappointing...
Review: Abhorsen is a good book to read if you have read the other 2 in the trilogy, however I wouldn't say it was the best book of the 3. There are lot's of bits and pieces that need to be sorted out. Lot's of questions remained un-answered. That is primarily why I didn't enjoy this book as much as I wish I had. It is truly disappointing how you are left hanging there. I have read other books that have left you somewhat hanging there, but this... there has to be more! Hopefully the Sinopsis above is correct and that Mr. Nix really DOES have some more "tricks up his sleeve". Although my review isn't very cheerful, I would definately recommend this book to anyone who has started the series!

Summary: An Awesome book; needs a sequel
Review: Abhorsen was an excellent read that i would recommend to anyone. Like its predecessors, it is "dark fantasy" (which makes them so good) and is one of the top books that i have read. The only bad thing about it is that it's ending is so vague, it leaves the reader thirsting for another novel (which is probably Nix's intention). I really hope that we will get a new book in the future, for goodness knows we need one.

Summary: The End! Pulled Together Beautifully!
Review: I have been a large fan of Garth Nix's writings, and I have only read 3 books of his in the Seventh Tower series, but the Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen books were absolutely amazing! The plot thickened with each book and at the end you were left off with no other option but to jump in the car and speed over to grab the next book. After I had finished Sabriel I actually took a calender and counted the days untill the release of his next book. I deeply loved the series and how it was complicated with many things to remember and recall, how beginning charcaters, ones you would never suspect become the center of your high point in the book, I loved the way he wrote these books with such amazing dialouge and description of each and every movement. The interludes from accross the wall in Abhorsen were beautifully done and the ending made me drooling for more. Don't end the series Garth! We love it too much.

Review: the book is way too complicated and the storyline is uninteresting. i don't know about reading that book, i believe The Giver written by Lois Lowry is a much better book, with a touching storyline. Read on Book Worms!! ^^~

Summary: Abhorsen
Review: Abhorsen was definatly not a disappointment in any way, it was a great conclusion to one of the best fantasy trilogies I've ever read. Before you read Abhorsen you should read Sabriel and Lirael. Unlike Lireal where the whole first half of the book was exposition in Abhorsen Nix drops you right into the middle of the story.

Lirael and Sam must journey along with Mogget and the Dog to find Nick and stop the hemispheres from being joined. Lirael and Sam must save the world while just becoming accustomed to their new jobs as the Abhorsen and a Wallmaker. Nix also throws in an interesting plot twist about Sabriel and Touchstone in the first chapter. This book pretty much wraps up all of the loose ends but I would love to see another book in the future!

Summary: Almost as good as Lirael
Review: Of course, if you are considering reading this book, you adored the first two set in Ancelstierre and the Old Kingdom as much as I did. This book concludes the adventure that begins in Lirael and includes many of the characters that first appear in Sabriel.

The plot is tight, the characters are consistent, but this book is 100 pages shorter than Lirael and it feels it. Although the author may have streamlined the story to add a sense of urgency to the plot, instead it feels just a tad under-edited. I would have preferred to slow down and savor this most recent book.

In part what is missing is some of the visual detail which adds both mood and believable texture to the Old Kingdom. Another element that of necessity is missing, is the turmoil that Sam and Lireal both feel in trying to discover their own path in life. Here they have come to recognize and use their skills effectively. (If that sounds a little dry - I am writing performance evaluations at the office right now.)

Stylistically, I almost think that Lirael and Abhorsen were originally written as one 900 page book which would make the pacing more sensible.

I am still a bit disappointed that after introducing the characters in Sabriel, the next book skips ahead 20 years. I hope that the fourth book in this universe (and there had better BE a fourth book even if ultimate evil has already been vanquished) continues to feature the characters introduced in Lirael and Abhorsen.

Review: This book was my absolute favorite. Sabriel was good and so was Lirael, but this topped them both. Abhorsen kept you interested the whole book through. It constantly surprised you and you finally learn the mysterious identities to the Disreputable Dog and Mogget. This book gave unexpected twists and turns and I really do hope that Gath Nix makes a sequel to this because it leaves hints that there might be one.Once again a great book great read.

Review: I am a GIGANTIC fan of this series and Shade's Children, and I just finished this book yesterday night.
I have to say it was the best book I've ever read.
In a nutshell, this book continues Lirael with the further adventures of Lirael, the Dog, Mogget and Sam, and how they go along stopping the evil Orannis, the Ninth, and his army of Dead.
If you liked the rest of this series, you will fall in love with this book!!!!!!!!
