Summary: Great
Review: Well there was this little part where I just wasn't interested in the book but then that was a gloomy day. The ending was so wonderful and everything bewteen the beginning and end was to die for. =p

In abhorsen, Lirael comes to terms with her new title and sets out to stop the Destroyer, the ninth powerful one.
to do this lirael goes all the way back to the ninth gate of death! and the blood of the bells must come together to imprison the Destroyer again, but they can't do it without some help from the Eighth, who last time chose not to shine.
Hedge and Chlorr must also be defeated, who will live who will die?

bwahahahaha thats for me to know and you to find out.

Summary: Wonderful! Simply wonderful
Review: If you've read the other two, well, I don't need to say you'll love it. Garth weaves a great tale, it's not a pre-ordained outcome and well I still like that dog.

Summary: The best of the un-named trilogy
Review: The un-named trilogy of Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen is probably the best one ever written. You learn about five of the many unanswered questions that come up in Sabriel and Lirael. Such as what Touchstone's real name is. Also who the Dog and Mogget really are and what happened in the Beginning. If you liked sabriel and Lirael, then this will be the best book that you have EVER read. It starts off on teh very first page and never stops until the very end. With many secrets that appear out of nowhere, and wonderfully suspensful endings to chapters you have to keep reading forever, or at least untill you're done. I read that book non stop from the second I bought it untill like 12 hours later when I finished it. I would recommend this book for anyone who likes to read.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: Abhorsen left Sabriel and Lirael completely in the dust, although I absolutely adore both of those books and you really need to read them to understand Abhorsen, as you get absolutely no introduction to the characters or the world they inhabit (apparently Nix expects the readers to be all normal and read the books in order, which I did anyway). I loved the fact that we got detailed descriptions of all Nine Precincts of Death, and I thought that the appearance and mechanics of the Ninth Gate were absolutely brilliant. I had a little tiny problem with the ending because I hate it when they tell you that something is inevitable and then it doesn't happen... although I didn't really want it to happen, it's almost like cheating. Those of you who have read the book know what I'm talking about (it involves Lirael's hand). And those of you who haven't... well, I won't spoil the ending. I definitely recommend this book. Just remember, NO INTRO. You absolutely HAVE to read at least Lirael before you read Abhorsen or you will not get the full effect and you will have no idea what's going on.

Summary: A Book For All Readers
Review: As I have said in previous reviews, a book should not be judged by its cover, nor by its genre, which, unfortunately, some people do. I believe that a book should be judged by its quality, and I direct this at those who are like my friends and do not like fantasy nor science fiction books. Abhorsen, as well as its two prequels, exceeds my standards for a great book and it should do so to even those who do not like to read these types of books. Abhorsen is written in such a descriptive way that the reader can automatically picture the main character Lirael, Daughter of the Clayr, and her companions as she battles her way through the dead armies and tries to stop the rconstruction of the Destroyer, otherwise known as Orannis. The book continues straight from where it left off in Lirael, and it continues as Lirael travels ever closer to the Red Lake, and closer to Nicholas Sayre, a young man whose fate is entertwined with her own. Although it may not sound interesting to some people, it is a great book for all readers, and everyone should enjoy this book immensely. I know that I did, and hopefully Garth Nix shall continue to produce works as great as this Abhorsen trilogy.

Summary: Good!
Review: Basically, i gave this book 5 stars because it did a very good job of finishing the quest begun in LIRAEL and tying that book in with SABRIEL (both of which, if you haven't read them and you're reading this review, you should STOP NOW and GET THEM FIRST - they are AWESOME!! and a must-read preclude to even have a clue as to what ...is going on in ABHORSEN)
interesting diversion. anyway, the story begun in LIRAEL is nicely tied up, with lots of inconsequential implications that can be resolved (and probably will be, i hope, given the author's style) in a follow-up book.
ABOUT THIS BOOK - Lirael, her nephew Sam, the Dog and Mogget leave the Abhorsen's House after a bit of maneuvering (they have to take an unexpected way out b/c many dead are waiting on either side of the river, led by Chlorr of the Mask, who makes her debut reappearance) and begin working towards getting to the Red Lake, not without some problems, setbacks, and a lot of mud on the way. eventually they make it there, attempt to rescue Nick, and lose the Hemispheres (Orannis) to Hedge.
In time, Lirael fully realizes the ramifications and consequences of Orannis gaining freedom, and discovers how to re-bind him, using her talent as a Remambrancer.
All the main charachters of the previous few books are reunited in an effort to re-bind Orranis that is a repeat of history. I'll let you decide whether or not they succeed, but it was extremely cool to read.
For those of you who've read this book and are reading this to see what other people think (as I usually do) - i liked it alot. but the hand - thing at the end was gross. ...other than being creeped out in the last chapter or so, this was an awesome book! can't reccomend it highly enough! (but too short!)

Summary: Really Good
Review: I thought this book was one of the best in it's series. I loved how the auther had the little twist in the end. This book made me cry and laugh. I abosutly loved it. Even if you aren't usually into fantasy this will bring you in. Garth Nix is a great writer.

Summary: Find A Friend, Say Goodbye
Review: What began in "Sabriel" now ends in a stunning blow, known simply as "Abhorsen".

Many secrets are revealed in this book, including how the bells came to be, who the Disreputable Dog and Mogget are, why the wall was built and what the Ninth Gate in Death looks like. Some readers may find themselves held back by the lengthy descriptions of events and the characters' slow progress in saving the world, but the information you receive is priceless.

Though the story likely ends all tales of the Old Kingdom and Ancelstierre for good, nothing is lost. While these three books would be wonderful as the beginning of a series, they are also fine the way they have been left. A "Harry Potter" for older teens and adults, the "Sabriel" trilogy is the most powerful of our time.

Summary: READ THIS BOOK
Review: Garth Nix is truly amazing. When I first read Sabriel after having it suggested to me, I couldn't wait for the second book. It was just the same for this one. You really can't ask for a better fantasy trilogy, they're up there with the Lord of the Rings by Tolkien, the Golden Compass trilogy by Pullman, and the Harry Potter books by Rowling. Abhorsen was thrilling, exciting, scary at times, and was definately worth the read. I can't decide if I enjoyed Abhorsen as much or better than Sabriel. If you enjoy Nix as a writer you should check out Shade's Children as well. I really hope that Garth Nix continues to write outstanding novels like these.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: I first read Garth Nix's _Sabriel_ several years ago. While on a vacation to San Francisco, I happened to see _Lirael_ on a shelf. I was so excited that I purchased it immediately. When I read "to be continued" I about cried (not really, but for effect we'll say I did). As soon as _Abhorsen_ became available I purchased it. I read the entire book in about seven hours. I simply could not put it down.

This book offers a stunning conclusion to _Lirael_ (and even _Sabriel_). It even offers the secret behind the creature Mogget. Of course, its so good that it leaves me hoping that Nix will write even more books in this series. I would purchase them without hesitation.

Garth Nix writes in a style perfect for young readers, but not so simple as to lose older readers. (I myself am 21.) Some parts of the story may be too dark for very young children, but middle school and above should be okay. Though I have never read _Harry Potter_, I would guess that those adults who like Harry Potter would also enjoy these books.

So, read _Sabriel_, read _Lirael_ and read _Abhorsen_. You won't be disappointed.
