Long ago you could only have two children but Lukes mom had three and Luke was the third. Luke had to stay in the attic at the house all day without nobody home he couldnt be seen or he was in big trouble. One day Luke was looking out the window when he saw lights flicking on. Luke knew that his neighbor had more than two kids becacuse that morning he watched both kids and mom and dad leave for work. The next day Luke was curious enough that after everyone left he went over through the backyard and went into their house Luke walked into the room and was standing there and the girl looked back and ran and tackeled him. After weeks Luke and the girl would get together and they would plan for the rally that was coming up. Luke kept telling her to not go because she could get hurt but she ignored him and went. You will have to read this book to find out how everything went.
Rating: Summary: Among The Hidden Review: This book is called Among The Hidden by Marget Petter Haddix. This book is a mystery. I think that this book would be best for ages 13 and up, kids younger might not understand it. The story takes places at a time where you were only supposed to have two kids per household. Luke, was a thrid child. He had two older brothers, Matthew and Mark. Luke lived upstairs in his bedroom which was the attic. One day when Luke was alone in his house he disobeyed his parents and looked out the window, and to his suprise he saw a girl when already he knew two other boys lived in that household. Was he seeing this, or was it true did he really see a girl? You will have to read the book to find out what happens to Luke.

Rating: Summary: Among the Hidden Review: Among the Hidden Cliff Nielsen, 2000,153pp., $4.99 Margaret Peterson Haddix ISBN: 0689824750 "How old do I have to be before people can see me?" A six-year-old luck asked. He unfortunately is a third child that lives in a country that forbids having third Childs. Among the Hidden is an incredible book that is about the future were the government forbids people to have a third child. Luck by being born third child in his family is forced to hide in this family's farmhouse. No body can see or know of him only his family, other wise he would be reported to the government or be killed. After some time his life changes and he can finally go out to see the world. As I read this book I hade a feeling of hiding as he did, because some how I was just like him being forced to hide form the world and never be seen. Reading this book is somehow like reading my life and mostly my past. This book fascinated me; it just sucks you in and doesn't let go till you've finished reading it. I highly recommend this book to everyone from kid to adult, especially those who enjoy reading science fiction mixed with adventure. This book is remarkable and won't be forgotten easily. It will be the best book you will ever read I guarantee it. -Neisa C.Ramirez
Rating: Summary: this book could be too violet for young kids but it is good Review: Other people have explained the plot of this book well so I will get to the point. Some people think that this book is too violent and sad for young kids and maybe it is for their kids, on that they should be the judge, but really you get more violence watching the commercials for one 30 minute show. If the book was sad, it is and you are right. In this book technology has not progressed it has split into two sections. One half is living in the past and the other the far future. Not all things have to be correct in this book- it is a fiction novel.

Rating: Summary: you'll be AMONG THE HIDDEN after reading this book.... Review: Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix is an intreguing story of a boy named Luke, who is a third child also known as a shadow child. The gov. does not allow families to have more than two children, meaning third children are ILLEGAL, because of the food shortage.. Luke's life is in danger every minute of the day, from every step he takes, every breath he breathes in, to every thought that he thinks. This book is an AWESOME novel about bravery, friendship, and a stand for the rights of who you are in this world.
Rating: Summary: This book captures you Review: It was interesting and had good characters and it was really sad, which was different from a lot of books for kids my age. I am ten. It was also interesting to me because, where I was born, families could only have one child.
