Rating: Summary: A truthful book review of The Black Pearl Review: The book The Black Pearl by Scott O'Dell is a brief and very slow book. It is incredibly dull and hard to read without dying of boredom. It takes place in a modern day town in California, called La Paz. La Paz is in Baja California, In Baja, pearling is a big industry, and is an important part of their economy. Although La Paz is Spanish speaking, the author doesn't take time to describe to the reader about their culture. The Main character in this book is a sixteen-year-old boy named Ramon Salazar. Ramon is special because he is one of the two people that have ever seen the Black Pearl! (Don't get exited.) La Paz is in Baja California, In Baja, pearling is a big industry, and is an important part of their economy. The reason that Ramon starts to look for the Pearl is because his dad is a big pearler and Ramon wants to impress him. But then he has to face the Consequences. Don't read this book because it is slow and not worthwhile, it never picks up. Also the plot is good but the author doesn't execute it at all. Another reason not to read this book is because, the characters weren't described enough and the reader doesn't get to know them at all, unlike high-quality literature. The action in this book is minimal and dull. The characters throughout this book prove to lack good judgment and common knowledge. An example of this is that, Ramon didn't just stumble upon the Black Pearl; he went looking for it, which is basically asking for trouble. I hated this book, but I can understand that teenage boys would probably enjoy it more than me. Since the main character is a teenage boy and boys his age could relate to him, I think that they would like to read about someone like them. because he . Reading Black Pearl was a waste of my time.

Rating: Summary: Kush's Review for The Black Pearl Review: There is this boy called Ramon. He finds the great pearl of heaven. His friends say to throw the pearl because it will create trouble. It does create trouble when Ramon's father doesn't come back from pearl diving. Read the book to find out more. I like the book in the beginning but at the end it getts a bit dull. The events the author chose weren't as interesting as in the beginning. So the end was a bit boring.
Rating: Summary: Your Polish may not be my Polish Review: This book is about a kid named, Ramon, finding a black pearl near the edge of the ocean floor. He showed his father the black pearl. His father said it was the "Pearl of Heaven." The towns-people was awsome about the pearl. Ramon's father died of a storm. The Manta Diablo was the owner of the black pearl. The wonders Ramon had was cool. The cool things about this book was Ramon finding the Black Pearl. If you have to read this book, don't read the book. The book may be thin but its long compared to the alternative books that are out. It is a good book to read on your own, but its really hard to remember all the events that have happened in the Black Pearl. It would take you about 1 week to read this book. I would NEVER read a silly stupid book in my life, but this book is considered good for any age. except 3 or 99. Your mom would be :-) about your reading skills. If you really hate books then :-( mom would not be happy. Read this book and you would like it. Its just long to read but its good enough to read it in 1 week like I did. I read this book over the summer becasue I HAD to of my silly school. Read this as a book for school and you wont :'-( becasue of not reading. You wont ROTFL from this book, this book is ok for good readers. LOL for the people who wont read this book. Remember that this book to me is polished to perfection. PEACE!
Rating: Summary: Lots of action Review: This book is about a young boy named Ramon who lives with his mom and dad. His father a fisherman who likes to look for pearls in the beach and then sell the pearls for a good amount of money. Ramon's family lives in a village near the ocean in Mexico. One day Ramon's dad decides to look for good pearls far away home. And this time Ramon's father decides to take Ramon with him. A day later Ramon and his father leave the town and get to the place where they wanted to go, Rio Grande. Ramon and his father start looking for most beautiful pearls that are worth a lot of money. After looking for a while they found the biggest beautiful pearl ever seen before, and that pearl would make them millionaires. But what they didn't realized was that the pearl belonged to the Manta Diablo, the ruler of the ocean. Ramon and his dad took the pearl and that pearl caused them a lot of problems. Everything in the village was getting damaged, a big storm hit the village and a lot of homes were damaged and a lot of people in the town got sick. This is a good book you'll love to read because it has a lot of action. It has a great ending so I recommend you read it to know the end.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: This book was a wonderful quick read. It is a story about Ramon, a young pearl hunter. This book was wonderful and very interesting. It was refreshing to find a young adult book without a lot of sex and violence. I would recommend this book for any reader.
Rating: Summary: Cover Tells All! :) Review: This book was great just like the cover tells! If you like fantasy, mystery, and adventure i totally recommend this book! it's a very good story!
Rating: Summary: A very good book, easy read, yet perilous adventure Review: This is a very good book that kept me reading with it's colorful language about the infamous Manta Diablo, and how a young man fights for his pearl. It is a good book, one of those that you just want to curl up on the sofa on a rainy day with. Very hard to put down, but not a challenging read. Scott O'Dell spins this highly imaginative story of the sea, with such flair, it is the best books of his I have ever read. I am fourteen and found the book just a tad too young, though.
