Rating: Summary: Not that bad, really, it isn't. Review: Being a teenage girl, I suppose that I couldn't help but enjoy this book. Although it is not the best book I have read, it is a good quick read you can get done in an afternoon, and feel oddly satisfied about reading. Sure, the character's can be shallow, but isn't that how most spoiled rich brats act? Like, all that matters is sex, drugs, clothes, and partying? Yeah, don't deny it. :) Seriously, in the next two books, the characters become more developed. And you just can't help but want to know what new "adventures" they get into.
Rating: Summary: Cute, Funny, and totally fun! Review: This was a great book! Although the characters in this book- rich, sleezy, boozing, drugging, Upper East NYC teens- are totally unrealistic, it is still fun and interesting to read. Just don't use this book as an inspiration to go do bad things! It's plot follows Blair and her love live, and also Serena who has came back from boarding school. Its a fun book and I'd recommend it to you!
Rating: Summary: UC Review: Get used to looking through thel lives of the UC(Upper Crust) as you read through this series. I have read three so far and it seems I am addicted. Keep writing, Ms. von Ziegesar!
Rating: Summary: A Different Kind of Teen Angst Review: If you are looking for pure cattiness - this is definately the book for you. It's like a younger, hipper early Jackie Collins novel... Blair thinks she has the perfect life until her best friend Serena comes back after being kicked out of boarding school. Rumors fly, hatred and envy ensue, and you thought being rich was easy! I was kind of suprised to find this on our Young Adult shelf, but I can see why it was put there since it is about teenagers. The content wasn't all that shocking however, because I think almost everyone goes through something in this book sometime during their teen years. While I probably wouldn't recommend this to someone below 16, it is an interesting read for those who don't want to go the romance route.
Rating: Summary: A Fantastic Novel Review: Look into the world of rich, glamourous teenagers as they live their everyday lives. You get to see their world in depth, and through a website- wrote by a by-stander in the popular crowd. A great book that you can't put down.
Rating: Summary: Everybody Loves a Good "Gossip"... Review: And this book is no exception! I originally picked it up after hearing a really great review in YM magazine. Now, ordinarily I wouldn't bother with the reviews, but the review stayed with me for some reason."Gossip Girl" is like the movie, "Cruel Intentions", but instead of having the plot the same as the movie, it's about Blair Waldorf and her friends living their lives happily in New York's Upper East Side until Blair's best friend, Serena van der Woodsen, came back from getting kicked out of boarding school. This book was extremely well-written. I thoroughly enjoyed this book because I just love a good gossip and I can basically relate to the teens featured in the book, mostly, Serena. There wasn't a thing I didn't like in the book, if you can believe it. This book should be made into a movie. Why not? It worked for "Cruel Intentions".
Rating: Summary: Good - For What It Is Review: This book is obviously not a literary masterpiece. It's pure entertainment, perfect for a day at the beach. "Gossip Girl" is very easy to read (I was finished in an hour or two)and gives an interesting look into the life of upper-class teenagers in New York City. I didn't think it was too racy; I think the language is that used by real teenagers, even if some of the events are a little far-fetched. For those looking for an easy, MTV-style read, I would recommend "Gossip Girl".
Rating: Summary: Straight from a Teenage Girl Herself Review: This book is a light easy read that reminds you to enjoy life as it is served to you from a silver platter. Fun and entertaining, I could not put it down. From start to finish, I could be found on my porch wide-eyed excited for every page turn. I reccommend this to any and all teenage girls because it truly is life in words. Great characters, great story line, fun to read, I think Cecily Von Ziegesar really hit it in with the GossipGirl books. I just ordered the second and third!

Rating: Summary: It's like an addictive soap opera... Review: ...but not! All of the glamour and scandal that you find in the high class society. The book is sets it's stories around Serena van der Woodsen. She was the girl that went away and her best friend, Blair, soaked up her the glam while she was gone. Now that she's back, Blair wants her to go. Blair got used to all the glitz and glam of being the "popular" one. She didn't want to be the one to come second place no longer. Blair's life is was perfect, until "she" came back. Find out all about the crazy stuff going around in the high class society. I definately recommend this book. It's great, I finished it in less than a day. I can't wait to read the next one!
