Rating: Summary: addicting Review: I started this book and finished it within two days. Though not the deepest plot, it is addictive.
Rating: Summary: GREAT! but sometimes unrealistic Review: At first, I didn't want to read these books, I assumed they were incrediblly trashy and shallow, which they are, but enjoyably so. I was addicted after the first, and I read all four in a week, I dying to know what happened to all of the characters. It was a guilty pleasure, with all of the sex, deciet, lies, and tons of gossip. They are good, but the constant name dropping of expensive labels gets annoying. I was in Barney's yesterday, and there is nothing for anyone under twenty in that store, no matter how mature you are or how big your credit card is. And they make Bloomingdales out to be really tacky, but its not at all. They carry seven jeans, juicy couture, marc jacobs, and all of those great brands that Henri Bendels has. And in the one with St. Barths, there is no way that a huge pop band played there on Christmas, there are a lot of rich famous people there, but come on. I loved the books, but sometimes I felt like the author had never really been to any of the places or stores. Great, a must read for every teenage girl.
Rating: Summary: Gossip Girl Rocks! Review: I hate to admit it... but I absolutely loved Gossip Girl! It was awesome, although it made me extremely jealous of the lives of these fictional characters. It was cool to read about these girls who have everything and what their lives are like, but it is probably not the best example-setter for teens. It covers many not-so-appropriate topics such as alcohol, drugs, sex, and make them seem perfectly ok. Even with that though, the book rocks!
Rating: Summary: great mindless reader during APs or College Apps Review: I hate admitting that I couldn't stop reading this book. It's horribly written, but it's so funny how she depicts all these upper east side kids. (and I live in new york, and I have a lot of friends who live on the upper east side). Read it for a laugh. It's a great mindless read and a guilty pleasure.
Rating: Summary: Gossip Girl Review: I think that Gossip Girl is the best ever. The author really brings out how life for a teenager really is. It's ups and downs. I liked it so much. I was hooked when I started reading. I just got it and I'm already done. When I say just got it, I mean I got it like three hours ago. I LOVED IT!!! It was wonderful. I still wonder who Gossip Girl is though! I can't wait to get the following two books in the series. I hope that I can find them! Well, I this ends my review. As soon as I get the other books and read them, I'll write my other reviews!! By the way, just an opinion. I like Blair. She has a good reason not to be a friend to Serena anymore. I even cried when the thing that happened between her and Nate. Well, now it really ends my review. Good-bye!!! Kimmi
Rating: Summary: cool Review: this book seriously shocked me. it was shallow offensive and extremely innapropriate. but it was also cool glitzy sexy and really addictive. i am under 16 and this book shouldnt really be for under 16s as it sets a bad example but i still love it. but i also hate it, especially how it trys to make drugs cool. they are not.
Rating: Summary: It's ok... Review: I read this book because I realized that a lot of the female students at my school are reading it. I should have known by then that I should have stopped... anything that's read so widely by my vapid and pretentious classmates should have been a big indicator to stop reading at the book store, not buy it. Oh well. I read it. I have to admit that the story isn't as two-dimental as it seems. The writer has managed to interwine the typical stresses that a teenager has to go through (boy trouble, college applications, and social hierarchy). Though, either by sloppy character development or just because the story didn't meet up to par, I cannot give this book anything better than three stars. But who am to say? I'm not a rich socialite who holds fund-raisors for falcons that I could care less about.
Rating: Summary: gossip girl Review: Some things to know about this book: Jenny has a big chest. There's lots of swearing. There's tons of mention of sex, drugs, alcohol, and Blair throwing up her food. And Chuck is always horny. Check it out.
