Review: Meet GOSSIP GIRL, an anonymous New York teen who posts all of the latest news about her peers at her website. Readers are introduced to a variety of high schoolers whose days and nights are filled with money, cars, boyfriends/girlfriends, cell phones, agendas, parties, and more. If you're in, you're in; if you're out, you're definitely out - unless you are dating or are related to one of the cool kids.

The character with the most mystery surrounding her is Serena, a blonde beauty whose return to Manhattan sparks controversy galore as her classmates wonder why she has come back to her all-girl private high school after a year-long absence and travels overseas. Serena's estranged best friend Blair, who was just getting accustomed to being THE most popular girl, now must take a step back and share the spotlight. Not only is her popularity at stake, but so is her love life, as she worries that her boyfriend Nate only has eyes . . . for Serena.

If GOSSIP GIRL was a TV show, HBO, FOX and THE WB would all fight over the rights to it. GOSSIP GIRL takes 90210 and moves it to Manhattan. The teens are trashy and classy at all once; while they know the difference between Prada and Gucci, they don't always know the difference between right and wrong. The book is more melodrama than drama, and delightfully so. It's a beach read mixed with martinis.

Review: This book is fantastic! I have read the whole Gossip Girl series about 3 times and I never get tired of it. My friends who dispise reading loved reading these books, even they couldnt put them down. The Gossip Girl series is definetly one of the best out there. I recommend this book for ages 12 and up though because there is some matter for older children only. These books will make you want to keep reading them from cover to cover nonstop. Have a great time discovering the magic of Gossip Girl!

Review: Don't read this book. Please. You'll thank me later. After many of my friends recommended this book to me, I decided to read it, but I was very close to putting it down. I could hardly keep reading the book. I would've thrown it away if it weren't my friend's book.

There isn't much of a plot line, and the characters are two-dimensional. I never really learned much about the characters, or cared if anything bad happened to them. This is partly from the author's writing style. I probably would've liked this book better if she made me care more about the characters or even wrote better, but she failed largely in that department.

All I want to say is, when you see this book, RUN AWAY!!!

Review: Im so glad that finally a writer for teenagers writes about how it really is. Not only that but while your reading your in your own fantasy. In my head im a snob rich girl that can get anything i want even though some things maybe a little tougher. This book is really one of the best books its straight out about drugs, sex, love, alcohol, and just LIFE

Review: This book is a bomb. It's content, characters, and events are just too made-up to believe in. Sure, what happens in the world portrayed by Cecily Von Ziegesar in Gossip Girl is somewhat the same things that are going on in our corupt social environment today, but it completely leads one off the track after reading it. The character portrayals may be a little far-fetched. I think more people today are wanting to read about more down-to-earth characters. And about events and happenings that are more believeble and experienced by the readers themselves. That's all I have to say.

Review: Popularity, Money and Boys is what Serena get's. But she will lose one thing when she comes back from bording school...FRIENDS. Her best friend Blair has dropped her for other friends. Since Blair, Serena and the rest of their friends were raised to be great, smart kid's who are expected to have the best parties, clothes, go to the best schools, and wear the best clothes, the pressure is all on them.

Cecily Von Ziegesar brings the world of teen's, problems, and life into your hands. This is a really great book that you will keep reading until you are finished with it. Then you will have to know what will happen after this book. There are four Gossip Girl books:

I highly recommend this book because it is a non-stop adventure through teen life. If you want to know more read the first book!

Blair's life is great she has a hot boyfriend that every girl wants to date and a great group of friends who everyone loves to hate. Blair's ex best friend Serena travels to Europe over the summer and ends up going to a boarding school there. The reason why Serena comes back to Manhattan is because she gets kicked out of boarding school and tries to act like she was never gone.
The big idea in this book is that you have to trust your friends and know when to call it quits. This book will tell you what happens that makes Blair so upset and Nate, Blair's boy friend, so worried. All the characters in this book keep you addicted to turn the page and read on. What makes their friendship so interesting is that they are like oil and water, two completely different people. Blair is busy and uptight jamming her palm pilot with appointments and Serena is enjoying every minute, relaxing and laying back.
I feel this book is a great read for teens and is defiantly a great book by Cecily Von Ziegesar and will keep you hooked through all four books and the new one titled All I Want is Everything.
