Summary: AN AWESOME BOOK!
Review: All my friends were reading Gossip Girl in school, so I decided to read it, and borrowed it from a friend. It took me only a day to read! It was very addicting.

It was about a girl who had lots of rumors going on about her, none of which were true. I think anyone should read this!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is the best book ever!!
Review: Normally I would not write a review of a book but this book was so good that I think other teenage girls should also read it! I couldn't put it down and read it in one day. Other reviews talk about its plot but I just wanted to say that it was an amazing book. It's my favorite! READ IT!!

Summary: 1 of the best books ever!
Review: I knew right away that Gossip Girl was going to be a great book. And I was wrong it was EVEN GREATER than I thought. I loved the characters. Whether u live in NY or not u will totally relate to this book. I SUGGEST U ORDER A COPY NOW! And while ur @ it pre-order the sequel You Know You Love Me. Ull love this book if u love Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison, The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot and others like that. While i read Gossip Girl I couldn't wait til i finished it, but @ the same time I wanted it to go on forever because the characters are so intriguing and the writing is just SO GOOD. I hope there r MANY MORE Gossip Girl novels 2 [come]!

Summary: You Know You LOVE it
Review: I go to a private school so basically i'm expected to read books that "expand my mind" and "introduce new educated ideas."So when a friend told me about gossip girl i naturally had to read it. I knew from the title that it definitely wasn't going to expand my mind, and thats why i loved it. I'd call this book a dirty pleasure. it definitely doesn't correctly represent pruvate school rich kids, but thats why its so good. Its a little unrealistic, but who doesn't need a break every once and awhile. Gossipgirl keeps it simple.....maybe in your everyday life you can't drink a cosmo in a big fancy hotel in the upper east side of new york and discuss the latest gossip with one of your gal pals without feeling guilty, so why not read about the people that can...and do.

Summary: AWESOME BOOK!!!!
Review: i'm not into reading or anything but i saw something about Gossip Girl in YM magazine and i read the review and i was like i have to read this book! These who live in upper east side all act [snotty] to each other and go around spreading nasty little rumors. One of the lead male characters is nate i just about fell inlove with him if only he was real! and Blair and Serena the lead female characters r incredible!Blair hating that serena came back so now she is the underdog and again, but serena doesn't have a pleasnt welcome and thats were all the gossip starts! i say a must read i couldn't put it down!

Summary: Juicy Gossip!
Review: Wanna know how the other half lives? From the viewpoint of a teenager? Then Gossip Girl will provide! One part internet gossip site and two parts rousing commentary from rich Upper East Side private school-ers. Gossip Girl is a lot of fun; the characters are smart, spoiled, selfish and too big for their britches; and the storyline, which takes place in the matter of a week or so, spotlights the best mix of teen angst in a grown-up world.

Serena van der Woodsen is back in town after a year of boarding school in Connecticut, and things couldn't be worse. Seems something is amiss with Serena's old friends. Blair, Isabel and Kati have better things to do besides wonder what Serena did to get kicked out of boarding school. However, not everyone is upset over Serena's return: Blair's boyfriend, Nate, is having a hard time being faithful; Nate's slimy friend, Chuck, is hoping the rumors of Serena's promiscuity are true; and Jenny, Dan and Vanessa find things in common with their new friend.

Not sure if this book would be for the young adult set or not, but it would be a great book either way. A different teen novel where no one gets carded, everyone smokes and fundraising parties (complete with Kate Spade goodie bags) are hosted by illustrious teenage committees. Very quick read and simple writing that doesn't sound like a high school essay. I recommend this novel with two manicured thumbs up! Hope there is a sequel in the works.

Summary: Totally addictive
Review: Speaking of addicitions, many characters use drugs very often in this book. But once you read the first chapter you're hooked and there's no putting Gossip Girl down! I'm a young teen and I admit this book probably is best for 15 and up, but I still loved it despite its raw language and such.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ These girls in the Upper East Side seem to have it all, but what juicy secrets do they keep? Gossip girl knows. And lets just say they're not as perfect as they seem. I finished this bok in two days! Its a great beach read! Definitely get this book girls! You know you'll love it!

Summary: Not really recommended
Review: When I picked up this book I was eager for another Cruel Intentions. What I got was much different. Gossip Girl tells the story of teenagers living a privileged life in NYC. Blair Thinks she has a perfect life, she's rich, her boyfriend Nate is wonderful, and she's looking foreword to going to Yale next year. Unfortunatly for Blair, everything changes when Serena comes back to town. Serena is Blair's "best friend" and biggest rival. She's seemingly prefect in every way and out shadows all of her friends. But now that she's back, rumors are flying. She's gotten kicked out of boarding school and according to NYC's rumor mill she's done some pretty dirty things to get expelled.

Sound interesting? Well, it's not. Unlike other people I was not "shocked" or "appalled" at the dirty nature of this book. Personally I've read far worse and have not been offended. The thing that really got me about this book was the sheer bad writing. The characters, which should be the backbone of any novel, are shallow and far too two-dimensional. They're popular, dress in fabulous clothes (which the author can't help but describe, the only real detail you'll get in this book), get drunk, have sex, get high, and spread rumors. Each one of them are the stereotypes of every character you'll find in any trashy teen novels. We have the "popular girls" the "deep poet" the "former popular girl with the bad reputation" the "theater geek" and the infamous "shy naieve girl who wants to be popular."

Recent great YA novels like Speak, and Love and Four Letter words have shown the world that teen books don't have to be shallow. In fact they can have some heart. Gossip girl falls back on the stereotypes that all teens are shallow and have nothing better to do in life than to worry about popularity. I gave it 2 stars instead of one because I'm not naieve, I know that there are people that like books like this, but I'm not that kind of person. If you want a good YA novel read Sloppy Firsts or Feeling sorry for Celia, they focus on the lives of real teens of all different shapes and sizes and are much better written.
