Rating: Summary: A Separate Peace the worlds greatest novel Review: A Seperate Peace , the greatest novel ever , displays American literature at its best. I loved the way John Knowles demonstrates his aptitude for writing. John Knowles's Phineas depicts his literary genius. Gene, a ordinary person, reflects Knowles ability to create a realistic character. The manner in which Knowles brought them together illustrates why this book has recieved so many awards.
Rating: Summary: Ha Ha Review: I found this book boring at times but never exciting. I would not recomend it to any further english classes. This book started losing me when Finny fell out of the tree.

Rating: Summary: TAUGHT MANY VALUABLE LIFE LESSONS Review: We are two students sitting at a school computer lab reviewing the book mentioned above. We have very different feelings about the book. The reason I liked this book was because it actually showed a realistic portrayal of high school students in their high school environment. I think this literary masterpiece taught a host of valuable life lessons. The most important one they focused on was about not showing or having jealousy toward your friends. I do not argree with the with my fellow book readers I unlike them think this book was not boring but actually kept me pretty interested. I think it was alright. I did not like the way Knowles portrayed Gene and Finny.
Rating: Summary: JOHN KNOWLES IS THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: We read A Separate Peace as freshmen. John Knowles did a wonderful job in A Separate Peace of making characters come to life. Each one has his own personality that is easily distinguished from the others. The school atmosphere is definitely noticeable and enhances the story to make it more realistic.
Rating: Summary: ONE MORE BIBLIOPHILE? Review: After enjoying this spectaclar novel in my freshman high school honors class, I have decided to become a bibliophile by trade. The symbolism found throughout this literary roller coaster was enthralling. The apathy others felt for this genuine work of art was totally unbased and putrid. I revere this materpiece as ranking with such classics as Watership Down, Catcher in the Rye, and Farenheit 451. John Knowles has stumbled upon a rare connection between reality and fictionality.

Rating: Summary: Sleeping in Louisiana Review: I think this novel was short and fairly easy to read. Although the characters were mainly undeveloped (flat), the book was interesting and kept me reading. My companion, whose identity will remain unknown, gave this novel a 1 rating. He called it a "book for insomniacs" and hated it completely.
Overall, I think this book made me think of the troubles I'm going through in my high school years, just like Gene and Finny. My companion believes that one of the troubles Gene and Finny went through was reading books like this for Devon.
