Rating: Summary: I knew it! The world makes more sense after reading this! Review: Angels & Devils tweak the world with a kind of absent mindedness akin to Joe Average flipping channels with the remote control. The antichrist has been born. And wouldn't you know it, he got switched at birth and is being raised by the wrong family... That is, the WRONG wrong family. So, what can be said of the end of the world when the one causing it is mostly just interested in playin' games and hanging out with his friends and a hell-pooch named "Dog"? Read, and find out.
Rating: Summary: Pure Genius Review: It is one of the best. Both such good authors, together they make a perfect duo. Very good plot, if a little confusing. A must read for any Terry Prachett or Neil Gamen fans.
Rating: Summary: The funniest book I've ever read! Review: Read it. It is a rollicking rolling fun rise of a lifetime, with Pratchett's brilliant writing and Gaiman's twisted ideas meshing perfectly.
Rating: Summary: THE OMEN as it probably would REALLY have happened Review: This book has some of Terry Pratchett's most memorable quotes (his description of a hell hound's growl is fantastic!), which is worth reading just for them.
Rating: Summary: A solid book all the way through Review: This book was hilarious. I think it was even funnier than the "HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy." The book is just filled with satire and suttleties that you might miss the first time around. Crowley was one of the funniest characters in any book ever. But I still think that the funniest book I ever read was "The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul" by Douglas Adams. I don't want to give anything away, so hurry up and BUY BOTH OF THESE BOOKS NOW!!!
Rating: Summary: The Ubertext! This is the god of books! Review: I'm on my third copy already! One became worn out through use (even reading it for the nth time it's brilliant!), and I lent the second to a friend who refuses to give it back. It's that good! Buy it. Read it. Read it again. Repeat ad infinitum...
Rating: Summary: This mix of Pratchett's comedy and Gaiman's lore is amazing! Review: A very funny book with a beautifully irreverent view of religion that at the same time mocks and carefully twists elements therein. A masterpiece of various styles of comedy, from the classic British deadpan throwaway asides to the more obvious repeated jokes. The twisted characters range from the sarcastic, to the deadpan, the innocent fool, to the totally obvious caricatures that all serve to add to a very easy to follow, yet non-obvious travelling plot.Well, that all aside, I made a total fool of myself in the middle of a crowded study hall reading this book back in college, and I still have to carefully think of where I am when I read this book, because I can't recall a book that has made me laugh more, even when I know that I shouldn't be laughing... The product of Pratchett's comedic style mixed with Gaiman's incredible grasp of mythology and religion is a masterpiece work.
Rating: Summary: You will laugh until your sides split!!! Review: People who do not enjoy this book must have had there humour surgically removed or have no friends and can't pull a member of the opposite sex, THAT'S how much i rate this book. I couldn't put this book down for a minute and frankly once i had read it, i read it again it was that good. The combination of dry wit and vaguely sly digs at the church had me in stiches from beginning to end. A shame that they have not written any more books together. A must read for anyone who likes either of these to writers!!
Rating: Summary: Just one word... Review: Ingenious!!!!
Rating: Summary: The laugh out loud all by your lunatic self kind of funny Review: That title you see there....that pretty much described what happened when I first read this book. I nearly collapsed...I skipped dinner...and I finished the whole book in one night. That's how funny this book is! And those other guys who gave this book a bad review? I can't say that they're wrong or right, but I can say that they have a different sense of humor. :P And please don't compare it to Sandman or whatever else either these authors have written before....how lame can someone be! And yes I've read Sandman....it's an adult comic book. A bit dry at times...sometimes too wordy to be a comic book, but good in its own right. But I wouldn't even dare compare this book to anything else. I *was* considering reading Hitchhiker's Guide but now after hearing all these comparisons, I think I'll skip it. Maybe until my memories of these comparisons have blurred.
