Rating: Summary: The best book in the world! Review:
This is a funny novel about a young teenage girl. It is the fifth book in the great series Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging. The book is formatted in diary form. Georgia Nicolson's diary to be exact.
This diary is about teenager Georgia Nicolson whose cat Angus has had kittens with "Mr. And Mrs. Across the street" cat Naomi. She also has to deal with life without her beloved Robbie.
The author, Louise Rennison, is writing the series based on events that happened to her when she was Georgia's age. Although all the events may not have exactly happened to her as they are in the books they are somewhat like that. Louise lives in Brighton, England. She has two goldfish that she calls "her biggest fans."
The other books that come before this one are, Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging, On the Bright Side I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God, Knocked Out By My Nunga-Nungas, and Dancing in My Nuddy Pants. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes something funny and exciting to read. If you are a girl you might like this book better. But if you are a boy you could still read this book. I recommend that you read the series in order, because if you don't you might be a little lost. So go pick yourself a copy today and start to read!
Rating: Summary: Another great installment... Review: 'Away Laughing on a Fast Camel' is even better than the previous books in the series. Louise Rennison continues to write hillariously funny books detailing the adventures of Georgia Nicolson. Although some of the jokes become repetitive (after hearing them in previous books), there are plenty of new laughs and scenarios to hold your interest. A must read!
Rating: Summary: Perfect summer read. Review: After a short break Louise Rennison has returned with the increasingly popular diary style books about our teenage girl heroine Georgia, unlucky in love and just plain unlucky at times!
When we last left Georgia she was suffering when her boyfriend Robbie had decided to leave England and go to New Zealand for a year. At the start Georgia is naturally upset but soon manages to recover and sets her eyes on new boys!
Louise Rennison has packed in the laughs in this new book and is a vast improvement on the previous two titles. It is also much longer compared to the other books which with it's fast paced plot always felt much too short. As usual Rennison manages to make the reader laugh out loud in many parts of the book, with Georgia and her friends' antics which are frankly hilarious and any reader will be zooming through this book. Even better there is more newly invented words guaranteed to have you saying them too!
A lot of people have complained that Rennison has used the same plots in this book as in her previous books and it is true and sometimes disappointingly obvious. However, Rennison has such a refreshing and unique style that she can make anything interesting and very, very funny!
Away Laughing on a Fast Camel isn't a literature master piece but it will make you laugh HARD for a few hours and wonder if anyone really has this sort of life!
Rating: Summary: One of the most fab book I've ever read! Review: Although the books in the series written before this one were funnier I can't help but think that these are the funniest teen books ever written and although I have tried to find better books I am still looking. This book is a hillarious look at a teenage girls' life while she deals with loosing her boyfriend to Kiwi-a-gogo land, having a crush on another boy, and her red bottomosity(snogging Dave the Laugh). While at times Georgia can be shallow it only makes the book more hillarious. Almost every girl can relate to Georgia in one small way or another. I would recomend these books especially this one to any pre-teen ot teenage girl. This is a great book.
Rating: Summary: I was LOL Review: AWAY LAUGHING ON A FAST CAMEL will definitely keep you laughing out loud. In the 5th installment of the Georgia Nicolson books, Georgia misses her Sex God horribly, still "rates" Dave the Laugh, and has to deal with her nutty parents buying a three-wheeled car. But then, Masimo, a completely gorgey-porgey Italian from America, joins the Stiff Dylans as the lead singer, taking Robbie's place. Georgia soon forgets about her Sex God altogether and focuses on getting Masimo, with help from Dave the Laugh, and, of course, the Ace Gang. This book will keep you laughing, but I didn't think it was as good as the first three. DANCING IN MY NUDDY PANTS and AWAY LAUGHING ON A FAST CAMEL are definitely worth reading, but they just aren't as good as the first three. They lack the charm that the first three posses. And after four books of buying tons of makeup, shopping, and becoming a red herring, it just seems unlikely that Georgia would dump her Sex God and start cheating on him after all she went through to get him to like her. It also seems more likely that Georgia would go with Dave the Laugh if she dumped Robbie for anyone. This book was still good, and I definitely enjoyed it. I can't wait to see what Georgia is up to next in Hamburger-a-gogo Land!
Rating: Summary: yay! more georgia! Review: Georgia kept me rolling on the floor again! In this one she shamelessly cheats on her Sex God boyfriend while he's out of the country. From Dave the Laugh to Mark Big Gob to the new lead singer of the Stiff Dylans, she gets around! I love the way she writes down the kinds of things that I'd be to scared to put in writing. She puts everything down; her snogging encounters, embarassing moments, ace gang gatherings and much more. This next book is deffinetly worth your time.
Rating: Summary: still fab after 5 books Review: Georgia Nicolson is depressed after Robbie leaving for kiwi-a-gogo land, and her friends aren't very comforting. Things get worse when dave the laugh gets a girlfriend after leading her on. his explanation is that he's still got the general horn, so he and georgia sort of decide to be just friends(with benefits of course!) And she doesn't mind, because she has found a replacement sex god in the form of Masimo, the new lead singer of the Stiff Dylans. Georgia finds a book in her mother's room that tells how to make any man fall in love with you, and she is determined to put her new-found skills to use. This book had just as many laughs as the last ones, if not more. it is really much better than nuddy pants, and is just as good, if not better than sex god and nunga nungas. Have fun!
Rating: Summary: Good Review: I am delighted to say that 'Away Laughing on a Fast Camel' is much of an improvement from the last two in the series. There were even a couple of pages that had me lauging even more than in the first (and still the best book in the series)'Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging'. Even though the general theme throughout the last four books is different in this one it was still great - and Jas finnaly became less annoying and once more a pleasure to read about. I was kinda disapointed to see that April Fools day was an entry and there wasnt any tales of Georgia pulling any pranks - come on! Im sure she would have something in store for Elvis and a few other of her teachers - probably even Jas. It would seem after Sven's return we never saw him again, that didnt seem quite right but everything else was great. There are a few unanswerd questions so Im pritty sure that there is gonna be another sequel for us. I deffinately recomend this book.
Rating: Summary: It is hilarious Review: I found this book to be a fun read. It is written in the first person from the perspective of a teenage girl in England. The "lingo" is a bit hard to follow, but one can easily begin to feel a part of Georgia's life and understand her feelings. The book moves a mile a minute, as does Georgia's multi-faceted world. She has parents that embarass her, a little sister that "LUUUUURVES" her and a very promiscuous tomcat named Angus. She talks a lot about snogging, (kissing), her desire to make a boy fall in love with her, her friends and how they are way too immature for her and how frustrating it is to be in a family of "crazies"!
Every teenager could find something they'd relate to in this book. They will surely laugh outloud, as I did, while reading it.
Rating: Summary: after five books it still has its magic touch! Review: I have read all of the georgia nicolson series, and this one, was one of the best ones- (I love them all...but this one was a treat!) I had one scenario when I read the book, and I was laughing for so long, and so hard in my room, my brother thought I was crying! He came in after I stopped laughing- (which was about an hour!! :) and asked me what was wrong! I love the georgia nicolson series! I own all of the series, and I am always re-reading them. I really recommened this book to ones who want a good laugh, and if you want some cheering up when your down! I love georgia, because she always looks on the bright side of all of her dilemas, and she is a relaxed person- not necisarily a role model, but very nice, and a bit caring- (when she wants to be!) Georgia deals with all problems that every teenager has, so you can really relate with her Georgia also has a crazy mutti and vati, a cat that drives her nuts, and of course, a little sister-Libby-( who is bonkers!). You will love these books- and will never be happier to read- ta ta 4now!
