Summary: This was EXCELLENT!!!!
Review: I know I already reviewed this book, but after reading some of the other reviews, I had to respond. This is an excellent book. I loved it a lot. It made me laugh, it made me cry. I think the kids who read this book should reread it when they are older. Maybe then they would like it. I do not understand how a person could give this book a 1 or 2. You do not need to be boring to like this book.

Summary: This book was great!!!
Review: This book was not only interesting but also fun. When I first heard about this book, I thought it sounded boring--a book about rabbits? but I read it for a book report and I loved it. It is about rabbits who leave their old warren because Fiver, a rabbit who has "foresight," says to leave. It is all about their search for a new warren and their struggle to survive.

I got to know all of the rabbits by the end of the book--Hazel, Bigwig, Fiver, and the rest of them. At first, the language the rabbits use, "Lapine," has different words, so it was hard to figure out what they meant, but there was a glossary in the back telling you what most of the words meant.

I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who loves to read.

Summary: I read this 20 years ago & return here for brief review
Review: Sure, some people probably wretch at Mickey Mouse, sensitivity, introspection and happy endings - though this book, if I recall from when I was 17, doesn't have the very latter. What I do recall, however, is pure enchantment. Live in another world, ride a magic carpet and become further sensitized to what's around us (should you dare). May not frost everyone's cupcakes, but life's too short to not read Watership Down.

Summary: Great Book!!!!
Review: This was an very exquisite book, yet I cannot believe all those idiots who rated this book a one or two can actually be serios. One thing that sort of gives it away is that they only read it to page three! Many kids that read this book and found it terrible are not very seemingly bright. Notice how some kids find this book wonderful! This book doesn't carry a single tedious page. Richard Adams is very good in writing with creativity!

Summary: BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD!!!!!
Review: I FIND THIS BOOK VERY EXCITING! I CAN'T SEE HOW SOME OF THOSE LITTLE KIDS RATED THE BOOK A ONE! GET A LIFE! THIS BOOK WAS TOTALLY GREAT!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: :)
Review: This book is one of my favorites! Although many people (as shown in the other reviews), who have only gotten to page three, have seen that it is a terrible book. But, in my perspective, I can not see how anyone, just plainly reading up to page three could rate the book a one or two or three. This book in inspiring, with the rabbits trying to make a new home. When I was reading the part in which Bigwig almost passed away in the trap, I even almost cried. Even though I'm only eleven, this book seems great for a reader who enjoys bunnies and a great adventure!

Summary: All-Time Favorite
Review: When I was about four, I fell in love with the annimations from the movie Watership Down, not actually grasping what the real meaning was. I never forgot the title, yet felt too young to tackle the giant book sitting high on the shelf of the public library. Finally in Jr. High I read Watership Down for the first time, and I continue to read it at least once a year. I have never been so touched by anything before, especially a book. I know some people don't like it, but they don't grasp the higher meaning of the story, or the detail and humanity of the characters. The movie is no where near as wonderful, but is a good reference for picturing and hearing the characters in your mind. I wouldn't know that the book begins with "the priroses were over" and ends with "the first primroses were beginning to bloom" (showing the never-ending cycle of life) if I hadn't read it over and over again; and I wouldn't have done that if it wasn't the best book I had ever read. Please enlighten yourself and read it. Don't forget the tissues.

Summary: Something i never forgot...
Review: Have you ever thought that something might be more or less than it really is, and then realized that it didn't really matter either way? What I mean is, whatever that something was has left you with an intangible memory; a memory that you can feel instead of one that you can only remeber. Well, Watership Down, to me, is that something. And I know that the story is one of talking rabbits, and may seem childish, but can something really be childish to a child? No. And we were all children once.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: I'd DEFINITELY pass this one over.
Review: Although Richard Adams's writing talent is evident, this book is NOT a great reading experience, especially if you like to read books where any action whatsoever takes place. This is a good book to assign a mature, insightful person, not a kid. Even in a gifted and talented class in school only three people were actually able to finish it (I was one) and only ONE person (a boy who enjoys reading classics and loathes suspense and excitement) liked it. Dull, dull, dull.

Summary: Silly Rabbit, talking bunnies are for kids!
Review: I tried reading this book. I got to page 3. I very much dislike this book. Later on in life, I read the whole thing, and still, it is absolutely pathetic. I HATE THIS BOOK!
