Rating: Summary: gossip girl Review: Upon completing the first two novels in the "Gossip Girl" series I was throughly excited that I had discoverd a book that intrested me. However, after hurridly reading the third book in the series i was a bit disappointed. It appeard that the author(Cecily Von Ziegesar) was tryin to out do herself. The book wasn't very well written and the plot wasn't as exciting as the first two novels. However I did enjoy reading it. It was as entertaining as gossip itself.
Rating: Summary: All I want is the next in the series! Review: I absolutely love Gossip Girl! The latest in the series definately lived up to the previous the two. B is just as self involved and catty as ever. S is up to her same old tricks, having fling after fling............or is she? D and V are oh so in love and finally having their talents recognized. N is oblivious as always while poor little J continues to follow him like a lost puppy. Don't even get me started on A! That poor sweet boy just continues to be looked over! I can't way to see what the prep school prats will get into next! Luckily I'll only have to wait a few more months!
Rating: Summary: Pretty good but not as great an ending as the previous Review: This book was pretty good. It had a lot of creativity and if you've never read a Gossip Girl book before, it doesn't include much mystery, suspense, and action, but it is realistic and funny. It has some insight and creativity too. You can relate to the book since there are so many characters. It's the life of the rich people. Some are snobby, some are smoother about it. The ending of this book wasn't as satisfying and happy as the last one, but still, pretty good.
Rating: Summary: This book rox! Review: This book totally rox and is definitly made for teens. I would know. I love how all these books keep on getting better and better and better! I'm making this simple..."IT ROX!"
Rating: Summary: Guilty pleasure Review: I really like this series. There is something very rare in Von Ziegesar's books: they seem very real. Okay, so maybe not many people experience all the luxuries of these upper east side teens. But the characters have real problems and flaws that are dealt with - or not dealt with - in very real ways.Take Blair. She's an overachiever. She's very selfish. She's a total neurotic perfectionist. She's bullemic. And yet, the book doesn't focus on everyone helping Blair through these problems. Von Ziegesar doesn't try and ram morals down the throats of her readers. Instead, the reader knows what the "right thing to do" would be without having to watch it play out. Instead, they get deliciously scandalous, gossip-worthy, and jaw-dropping developments in the lives of these paradoxical characters, that are very shallow, but also have a lot of depth. The third book in the series is no exception. I give it four stars only because of the lack of connection between the many storylines in this book. Where in past books, all the different plots have been connected somehow, this one is a bit choppier. It's still great fun, however, and quite a guilty pleasure.
Rating: Summary: Gossip Girl Rocks My Socks Review: Gossip Girl rulessss.. These books are the greatest thing ever. I've read alot of other books, but these definately are the best. So many times you read books that are so.. made up. But the funny thing is, the stories in these books seem so wild, but you know they really happen. Gossip Girl books are definately as good as gossip itself.. ;)
Rating: Summary: All I Want Is Everything Review: Though Gossip Girl's identity may be a tightly held secret, that is the only secret you will find within the pages of ALL I WANT IS EVERYTHING. Gossip Girl has all the inside scoops on a group of rich kids in New York City that only know how to live life to its fullest. After making up, Blair Waldorf and Serena von der Woodsen get up to their usual antics. Attending parties, going for limo rides with a famous pop star and even jetting off to the island of St. Barts are merely every day occurrences. More pressing are mid-term exams and the dreaded college essays. Blair struggles to enjoy her fun in the sun knowing she cannot put off her essay much longer. I honestly don't want to give away a lot of the gossip found within, so I am not talking about the plot any further. All of the characters from the previous two books (GOSSIP GIRL and YOU KNOW YOU LOVE ME) are found within these pages. Plenty of secrets are revealed and even more questions lurk in your mind - most importantly just who is Gossip Girl? I admit if a series like this had been around when I was a teen, I would have snatched them up. Cecily von Ziegesar tells her stories with wit and cattiness. Women can be catty in the best of times, and to step back from real life and soak up an exorbitant amount of this behavior had me laughing. Though a few aspects of the story struck me as unreal, and maybe I'm wrong maybe bars in New York don't card everyone like they do here, I still found the book to be a delight.
Rating: Summary: Holiday Drama at Its Finest Review: Blair and Serena are best friends again - and that's a good thing for when she's with her mother and Cyrus in St. Bart's for Chistmas. Who would help her get through all the new family drama going on in her life that used to be perfect? Dan and Vanessa are in love but go through several hurdles to overcome differences. Jenny and Nate are happy - at least they seem to be until he goes to Maine. Serena is serenaded by Flow and a strange Bird. Miles makes the moves on Blair much to the chagrin of Aaron. And what about a baby? This third book in the Gossip Girl series is the best so far. Of course, it leaves the reader hanging on for the next book, but isn't that what good series books do - even if they are for teens? These books are wonderful because you can have all the drama you want without it screwing up your own life!
Rating: Summary: Good book Review: I Agree w/ stellar, the third was kinda slow. I also caught the same mistakes stellar did too, in the first 2 the author said one thing but in the third it was different. Other than that I liked the books a lot, I read the first 2 books in about 10 hours but the third took a little longer and some of the chapters with Dan and Vanessa I skipped over b/c they were kinda boring. I can't believe the next one won't be coming out until Sept.!!! hopefully there will be some new characters added and the author will stick with the things she wrote in the first 2 instead of changing it and getting us confused. Can anyone recommend any other books like this b/c I need some to get me through the days at the beach in the summer.
Rating: Summary: This book is so good Review: I didn't even know these books existed until my friend lent me a copy of hers. And then I didn't know how I could have lived without reading them! To quote a review on the back of the book: "This book has the effect of gossip itself..." which is totally true. It gives you a sort of guilty pleasure like when you go behind someone's back at school. This book is so good, I could not put it down and had a lot of explaining to do to my techers the next day about WHY on EARTH i hadn't done my homework
