Summary: Not really worth buying
Review: This book was somewhat of a disapointment after reading the first four funny and cute novels. It had an ok plot but the story did not build up to anything. In every other book there was a climax where a large change took place involving Mia's life. This book was too short to build up to anything. The storyline did not seem to progress in the least bit. Particularly there was no development in the relation between Mia and Micheal. The characters had to face literally no challenges. All in all it is still a funny book and if tou have an hour sit down and read it, but it is not worth buying, nor is it neccessary to read in order to understand the series.

Summary: A VERY GOOD BOOK
Review: This book was very good. But very short I finished it in about 1 and a half hours!

Summary: Great
Review: This is a great addition to the princess diaries series. I really didn't understand at first when I looked at it why it was so short, but I learned that it was probably because each of the books focuses on one event (ex. Princess in Love led up to the winter nondenominational dance). This book further proves what a great writer Meg Cabot is.

Summary: Just doesn't seem like it's worth the release
Review: This is a very, very, very short story. Couldn't it have been better served as part of Princess Diaries 5?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good but Short Book
Review: This new edition in the Princess Diaries Series, is agreat book, There's only one problem.... it's really short. If you have read most of the Princess Diaries Series, I would reccomend you read this book, while you wait for the 5th Princess Diaries book to come out.

In this book, Mia goes on a school trip to build a house for the poor. The only reason why she wants to go is so she can spend time with her boyfriend Micheal. She learns many valuable lessons while shes there.

I hope this helps!

Summary: Hello??
Review: To all those people who are saying they are disappointed because it's so short-hello?? It's book 4 1/2. It is just a tie between the 4th and 5th book. It is not a whole event. So get over yourselves.

Summary: Oh my, Mia....
Review: Well, this is a tiny volume of everyone's favorite series (besides the series about that English boy with the funny head scar) and it only took fifteen minutes (tops) to read. That said, you will not get the full impact of Mia's writtten musings and rants, but she does have her moments in this book. Volume 4 1/2 takes places over Spring Break, when the Gifted/Talented class goes and bulids houses for the less fortunate in West Virginia. Once again, my parents asked what was so funny when I was reading this book. I won't give it all away but, well, since you're nice, here's a little taste:
1. Mia is doing something with her finally realized talent that was discovered in Volume 4.
2. Boris gets bus sick. A lot.
3. Mia falls off the roof of the house. But only once, mind you.
4. Dairy Queens are good.
All of Meg Cabot's proceeds from Volume 4 1/2 go to the building of the first permannent Lower Eastside Girls Club of NYC. So buy, read, and feel good about helping. Also... there's a preview of Volume 5, "Princess in Pink," which looks to round out Mia's freshman year at Albert Einstein with what else but... prom. Egads. Enjoy!

Summary: Hopefully Volume 5 will be rated a Must-Read!
Review: Well, when I had heard that this new book of the series was very short, well, once I saw it the other day, at Borders, I just never thought that it could be thinner than I even imagined. It wasn't THAT bad of a book, but Mia kind of acted like some kind of brat.
I mean, when I was glad that Mia finally discovered her actual talent in Volume 4, she had still complained about it in Volume 4 1/2, though.
Like, it was so useless. I'm telling you, Mia really needs to get a HUGE grip and maybe, at least, have a little faith in herself.
But anyway, in this book, some of it was pretty funny, but kind of dragged it on and on. Like, Eww, a centipede! Yuk! Then, I got surprised (in a pretty good way) that Grandmere had came all the way in West Virginia (where Mia and her G & T Class went there, for building for the poor for five days).
The ending got much better, but to me, the Ending was a little, I don't know, a little bit too much? Don't get me wrong; Meg Cabot is a great author, and all. But it was like in this ONE of the series, however, was dragging thruout the novel, and then squeezed loads of last-minute stuff in at the end, very immediately.
It was an A-Oh-Kay book, but hopefully, by the time Volume 5 (Princess in Pink, when it's finally the Senior Prom) comes out (which will be in March 2004, says Meg), well, I sincerely hope that Mia will have more faith in herself, for once, and that she can be less whiny and self-centered, at least.
Oh, well. I guess that for now, just read the author's other series, if I were you, instead of waiting for the next one to come. Like, the Mediator Series, Nicola and the Viscount, All-American Girl, Haunted, Victoria and the Rogue, and much more.
Let's just hope that Volume 5 will be good to buy!

Summary: What Happened?
Review: While this book had its moments (I laughed out loud twice), it didn't really live up to the other books. In the rest of the series, Mia is expressing how she wants to save the animals and campaign for the environment. Suddenly it's all about kissing her new boyfriend. In the book, she volunteers to build a house for the poor with a school program. But all she really wants is to run off with Michael every chance she gets. Where is the Mia Thermopolis we know and love? Your friend and mine has been replaced with a hormonal stereotype. A quick read, but not a worthwhile one.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: 4 1/2??????????
Review: Why would anyone-right mind or not-release a four and a half novel? Did Cabot simply come up with the idea one night and decide to publish it right then and there? Why not simply include it with the fifth book and add some spice to the series? All in all, not a recommended buy.
