Summary: Short!
Review: A very short book, it will probably take about a half hour to read. It's okay. Mia goes to some state in the south { I forget } to work for Habitat for Humanity building houses and also wondering why Michael is not kissing her that much. Ah whatever. I don't why it was not written into a full fledged book. But this series is really fun to read except for this small book which was okay but not the best out of all The Princess Diarie books.

Summary: Short but sweet
Review: After the somewhat disappointing PRINCESS IN WAITING, Meg Cabot is back with this short story which describes Mia's spring break.
The story begins like all with Mia complaining about the unfairness of her life this time it is her Father's refusal to allow her to spend her Spring break building homes for the volunteer organisation Housing for the Homeless in West Virginia.
Instead Mia has to go to Genovia to attend an anniversary celebration but luckily Bruce Spingsteen saves the day by holding a concert in the nearby Monaco thus cancelling the celebration!

All the usual suspects are back in this amusing instalment Lilly, Boris, Michael, Tina, Lana, Lars, Josh and of course Grand mere!

While it is very short it still serves to be an interesting and sometimes very funny read and no it is not the best Princess Diary it is still worth checking out if not with the hilarious ending towards the end involving Grand mere!

Meg Cabot has also injected a lot more humour into this tale which was slowly filtering away with each story but this shows Meg is firmly back in control.

A short but interesting read for any Cabot fan.

Summary: Project Princess
Review: Any teenager would love this book! It is a sequel to the other 4 Princess diaries books. I am 13 years old and I've been reading since I was 12. This book has 50 pages and a preview of the next Princess diaries book, Princess in Pink! which is coming out on March 23, 2004. I strongly reccommend this Princess Diaries book for anybody that likes reading fun books!

Summary: Good, lives up to expectations
Review: As a HUGE fan of the Princess Diaries, I knew I had to get this book. Well, I got it today - and already finished it - but thought it was pretty good. The only complaint I have is the length of the book - 64 pages is wayyyyyy too short!

Mia is back, and sassier than ever! This book takes place over spring break, and Mia and her G&T class are going to West Virginia to build houses for the less fortunate. Mia is mostly looking forward to it because it means five days with Michael, her boyfriend, without her parents around.

But, the trip isnt as great as they thought it would be - first of all, Boris gets sick on the bus, so for the seven hour ride, he's throwing up. Then, the giant bugs eat everyone alive, the tents leak, and Mia and Michael can't get a second to be alone. But, as everything starts to look up, a surprise visitor ruins the moment.

This book's really funny, and I enjoyed it a lot, but it's just too short to really explain a lot.

Overall grade: A-

Summary: Highly Enjoyable Anecdote
Review: As a short 50-page edition to the highly acclaimed Princess Diaries series, I highly enjoyed this slim volume that proceeds a girl's charity in NYC. It is Mia's spring vacation and she and her friends, Lilly, Tina, Boris, Michael (who is also her boyfriend) and the rest of the gang decide to volunteer to build houses for the poor in West Virginia. In other words, the middle of nowhere to Mia, who is used to Manhattan so much. Although it is very short compared to the 200 paged 4 earlier volumes, this book had as many laugh out loud moments and memorable quotes. From Boris getting sick on the bus ride from Manhattan to West Virginia to Mia and Michael going to inventory the tools and catching their chaperones making out to Grandmere's unexpected (and horrifying) arrival and reserving half of the local hotel for her entourage this book was a very fun read and I enjoyed it very much. And of course we cannot forget Mia falling off of the roof and landing on Boris and the woman in the family Mia's group is building a house for crying and getting emotional at the sound of her very own toilet being flushed. This book will sell and I know many will find it just as enjoyable as the other books in the series. Can't wait until the fifth edition!

Summary: Good way to pass a lunch break
Review: As someone who is actually from one of the poorer regions of West Virginia, I tend to cringe whenever the 'city kids visit the sticks' theme is pulled out. In that regard, this book could have been worse, though the concept strains the bounds of realism; dirt poor families are not exclusive to the Appalachians. There is no reason this story could not have taken place in NY State.

As far as the book itself went, the one major point in its favor was that the proceeds went to charity. There were a few lines that made me smile, but none that made me laugh out loud the way the first two books in the series did. In my opinion, Ms. Cabot would be far better served to leave off writing the short novelty books, and concentrate on revitalizing the full length ones.

Summary: This book is not as good as the other ones...
Review: But it's still something worth reading, on a boring Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Mia is going to volunteer to build a house, but her real motives are to spend time with Michael. Obviously, everything does not go according to plan. However, Meg's clever writing makes the book uncliche. Mia is just as melodramatic as ever, but still entertaining. I definitely recommend checking it out from the library.

Summary: The misinformed spout off...again!
Review: First of all, this is a great book;like the other four volumes! The story is very entertaining as always, and doesn't deserve all the criticism it's been getting. I think it's great that Meg Cabot plans to write about ALL of Mia's highschool career! Another great thing is that the profit from the sales of this book are going to a worthy cause to help people; not just to the author as some seem to think. The "Princess Diaries" books are great and I hope there are many more to come!

Summary: not bad..i guess
Review: First, let me say that i have read and own all the hardcover editions of the first four and that i love them, though the earliest two were by far superior to the latter two. I immediately bought this book, and upon finishing it, thirty minutes later, i must say that i was dissapointed. I kept waiting for something to actually happen, for, say, a plot to develop? but, sadly, it didnt happen. Although, it was interesting enough that i didnt cast it off and throw it on the floor, it was, i'm sorry to say, not worth reading. I guess its nice of Meg Cabot to give profits from the book to charity, i find it hard to believe that she's not making some profit from it, otherwise i cannot fathom why she would put her name on a tiny, uninteresting, shoddy book like this.
Overall, if you are a fan of Meg Cabot and the PRincess Diaries books and have read all the prior ones, you should read this book..however, if you have not read any of them, i'd recommend reading them in order and only reading #4 and a half if you really, really like the series. Hope this was half way helpful....
