Review: Young Billy spends 2 years saving up money to buy 2 coon hounds.He teaches Old Dan and Little Ann how to hunt ringtail racoons. His dogs win a coon hound hunting terniment.Old Dan dies for Billy and little Ann dies of a broken heart.But this heart warming novel ends with a old Cheroke Indain tail about how an angle plants a red fern between the grave of Old Dan and Little Ann.
Rating: Summary: I thought this book was excellent! Review: This book was entertaining through the adventures of two wonderful dogs and a boy. I rated this book a FIVE STAR book because of the exciting, sad, and joyful times of the characters in this story. I recomend this book to every kid-even if they normally don't read.

Review: I LOVED IT!!!!I had to read it for school.I thought it would just be some normal book to read for school.I WAS WRONG!This book was wonderfully written.Although,I didn't think the d-word was necessary.I still loved it!I will definitely read it again.I cried when the dogs died.I can't imagine how sad I would be if my two beautiful Beagles died.I would be so sad.I am so glad I read this book.I watched the movie,but they cut out quite a few parts.I wish they hadn't.This book is one of my favorites.
