Rating: Summary: Wonderful, yet sad Review: This story was very well written and enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend giving it to children under 10 because it uses many old terms and phrases and the end will bring tears to your eyes. It will be most enjoyed by children 12-15.

Rating: Summary: Another Great Book Review: Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls tells the story of a young boy named Billy growing up in the rural Ozark Mountains during the depression. Billy's family is poor but proud of the simple life they live. Billy's dream is to own a pair of coon hounds. His family does not have the money to buy Billy any hunting dogs. So Billy sets out to work and save enough money to buy the dogs himself. His Grandfather encourages him and even agrees to keep Billy's plan a secret from his parents. He works at all sorts of odd jobs and saves every penny he can get his hands on in an old tin can. By the end of the summer he has enough money to buy a pair of pups. He sees an advertisement in a magazine for quality coon hound pups and his grandfather helps him to order them. Billy has to walk to town when his dogs arrive. On the way home they have an encounter with a cougar. Billy names his pups Old Dan and Little Ann. He works hard to train them to hunt. Billy enters a hunting competition and after enduring a number of set backs he wins the gold cup. Through all of his adventures with Old Dan and Little Ann Billy learns many valuable lessons about life. The author, Wilson Rawls, brings to life the time and place of his story in Where the Red Fern Grows. I enjoy hunting and working with dogs in the field, so I was able to relate to Billy's love of his dogs and the land. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to any reader.
Rating: Summary: My Review about Where The Red Fern Grows Review: I have read this book and I think it is a wonderful book because I live coonhunting. I like books about hunting. I like all the stuff Billy goes through to get the dogs. I think this is a wonderful book and that everybody should read it because it will touch your heart and it will feel like your out in the woods with Billy. This book is sad in the end but I still think that everybody should read this
Rating: Summary: Where the Red Fern Grows Review: This book consists of the boy and his two hounds who have been hunting together in the coon contest. I really like to read the book because the book tells you how the boy feels for his dogs as his valuable property. I wish I have the same thing as he does, if I do, then I would be a dog lover. But myself I don't become crazy over hunting with the dogs, I just like dogs for just playing with. This book inspired me so much that I keep reading until the end with my mind filled with wonder about what will the boy do next without the dogs. The dogs can change your life if you treat them right as human beings. As you read it more deeply then you will love it in no time. I really recommend it to anybody who likes to read about the fiction story.
