Rating: Summary: Where the Red Fern Grows Review: This is an absolutely WONDERFUL story. Just to give you a perspective on how great this book is, even if it was $100.00 I would still buy it! This is a great book for everyone, adults and kids alike. It's an exciting story of a boy named Billy, who grows up with dog-wanting fever. He finally gets two wonderful coon hounds, and names them Little Ann (who is the brains), and Old Dan (who is the brawn). The pups love each other and can't bear to be apart. They soon grow to have a reputation of being the best hunters, and win a gold cup in the coon-hunting championships. Soon after, the dogs and Billy have an encounter with a mountain lion ... This is a wonderful book, and even though I have summerized it, there is much more to it, it even made me cry. Please buy it and see for yourself.
Rating: Summary: Where The Red Fern Grows Review: The book that I am reading Where The Red Fern Grows is about a boy and his two dogs, and the adventures the have together. This book takes place in the Ozark Mountains and its river bottoms, which happens to be the best coon hunting territory in the country. There is a problem, the main character Billy's mother will not allow him to have a gun, and he dose not have a dog. Billy doesn't want just one dog, he wants two dogs, his family cannot afford this. Billy saves up for two years and byes two dogs, he names them Old Dan and Little Ann. They go through many adventures and some tragedies. I think that an animal lover would like this book very much. This book is a very good book it has its sad parts and its happy parts I personally think anyone would enjoy it not just an animal lover I know I enjoyed this book very much and I hope you will to, I gladly give it a ten, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
Rating: Summary: Where the Red Fern Grows Review: I think the book Where the Red Fern Grows, had a great plot and story line to it. A boy had but one wish and that was to own a set of hounds,he wanted them so much that it began to make sick. After many summers of work he was able to make his dream come true. Then he began the most wonderul days of his life. A bond of love and loyalty was made between him and his dogs. He spent many days of hunting with the hounds till finally he was able to enter them into the Anual Hunting Contest. After alot of work and disaster he was able to win. Later while in the mountains he battles a cougar and out of love and courage his dogs give there life. The boy was affected greatly and all throughout his life he never forgot the loyalty of his dogs Old Dan and Little Anne.

There are not that many books that I will accualy begin reading and finish but i could not put it down. the story was some times funny, it had me on my feet at parts yet it was also sad and tradjic. After I read the book I had to see the movie. It was just as good as the book. I accualy sqwerted tears during this movie. Any way I have to rate this book a 4 because it was realy good but there could have been somthing else. Thank you for your time I hope I didn't boar you to bad. BYE
Rating: Summary: You will have red eyes when you finish this one! Review: I first read this book back in the sixties, after my brother told me about his teacher reading it in class, and nearly everybody crying at the end. It really is an emotional ending! The book itself is very well written, and Wilson Rawls does an excellent job of drawing the reader into the story. It's an excellent story for young people, and you won't regret taking the time to read it. But you will also have a tough time holding back tears at the end. Trust me on this.
Rating: Summary: Thanks Mr. Scales Review: My teacher read this book to our sixth grade class. Now, 20 years later, I find it just as compelling and moving. A wonder lesson in love for everyone. Please, read this book for yourself, and to and for your children. Than you Mr. Scales for thinking of us, and thank you Mr. Rawls!
Rating: Summary: The Best Book Review: I think this book was very sad and good. It brings you back to read it over and over again.
Rating: Summary: One of, if not the worst book I've ever read Review: Avoid this at all costs, it's horrible. It has a bad story, and a shockingly horrible ending. THIS IS NOT A BOOK FOR KIDS PARENTS! There is a lot of detailed violence in the reading, it's down right gross sometimes. Don't buy this, it's a waste of paper. Save the trees! =)
